Aging In My Place mobility services
My mother needed her home modified to insure safety and mobility after her stay in a rehabilitation facility. While the physical therapist had specified the installation of railings on both sides of the stairs and a toilet grab-bar in order to prevent a fall, finding someone to do the work after her discharge was actually very difficult. Luckily, we found Lise Wallace and Sean Harrington from Aging in My Place Mobility Services. They were excellent to work with, and were able to fabricate and install the modifications very quickly. After my mother accepted the proposal, it took less than a week for them to obtain the materials and fabricate the wood stair rails. Installation took less than one day. Since the home had an existing bannister for the stairway to the upstairs, my mother didn't want metal railings installed, but rather wood railings that would match the bannister. Sean fabricated very nice wooden railings that matched the color of the existing bannister and woodwork (first photo). These rails were attached with rail brackets that have a very nice appearance that fits well with her decor (second photo). These stair rails were attached to the walls with special wall fasteners to improve safety. These same fasteners were also used for the stair rail brackets of the stair railings fabricated for the basement stairs, as well as the stainless steel grab bars. Since they are CAPS certified (Certified Ageing in Place), they also suggested installation of a mobility threshold ramp for the door to the garage in order to prevent tripping on the high threshold. They also installed a vertical stainless steel grab bar of the correct length by the outside steps to the same door in order to prevent falls. My mother found this last modification to be extremely helpful because she uses it each time she enters or leaves her house, and so has helped her remain independent. They both were very professional, and were able to accommodate my mother's hectic schedule. We highly recommend Aging in My Place Mobility Services.

They were very professional and didn't try to sell us something that we didn't want or didn't need. The installation was very simple and a lot better than I thought it would be. They were really professional and fast.
