    APPLIANCE DOCTOR
Perfectly! Mark was very responsive. First time came out to diagnose my refrigerator within a day. Mark ordered the main control board the same day but by that evening my frig was working again. Mark continued to follow-up weekly and after 3 weeks the frig quit for good and Mark was out the following day to fix it. Definitely recommend Mark and would hire him again without a 2nd thought.

Outstanding. Paul Lievois was our technician. The part needed was discontinued but Paul and his boss managed to track one down. Repair was completed. Another company told us we would have to replace the unit. We are so thankful they were able to fix it. We highly recommend the company.

We have a gas dryer that was not heating. After running diagnostic tests our technician, Karl, determined the problem was with the dryer exhaust . It had a huge chunk of ice/lint inside that was stopping the dryer from heating. Karl put in a new exhaust hose that is straighter and everything is working great again. He did a great job! Plus, we were able to use the 'Angie's List coupon' for Maple Appliance to save money.

    The Appliance Doctor
The Appliance Dr. was courteous, professional, and successful. Within 15 minutes, he correctly diagnosed and corrected the problem. I will definitely use this company in the future. His price was fair and he called later that day to confirm that the issue was resolved to my satisfaction.

The work went as expected without any problems. The installer seem to be very experienced. We have had no issues since the work (approximately 7 months). My only issue was the installer stuck a metal tool into the new operating grinder I think to see if the model had an automatic shutoff (which he believed it did). He seem to be shocked to find out it didn't and quickly withdrew his tool. I can only guess as to what effect that had on the disposal blades and the durability of the unit, but nothing noticeable so far.

Diagnosis and repair visits were quick. $50 for 1st visit. They were able to find two different brand replacement parts and called me to select which one including part pricing and availability. Repair went well and we were back up and running three days after my initial call. Replaced a $43 thermostat. 90 day warranty on labor.

Not well. Scheduled the appointment and provided the model # so they could bring the parts that most likely would fix my concern (not draining). scheduler said the tech would have the parts....he didn't. He was pleasant but indicated he used "that" part 2 days earlier and thats why he didn't have one. All this after I specifically requested the pump (the part needed) be with the technician. The tech said the closest part is in Grand Rapids and can be here in 2 days. He said they would order the part and call me when the part arrived. Off he went. That was 9 days ago and I haven't heard from them! After the tech left I called the office/scheduler to complain about their "process" of "having the part in the van", I don't think they wanted to hear me complain. This was very disappointing because I had used them several years ago and had a good experience.

I felt we were taken advantage of by this company and would not recommend them to anyone. I hired them because of their high rating on Angie's list. When I made the appointment I asked what the service fee was. I was told it was 69 dollars to come out and determine the problem with my refrigerator. A repairman came out as scheduled took, literally, five minutes to look inside the refrigerator and tell me it was probably the condenser and it would cost me 1100 dollars. I expressed surprise since the refrigerator is only 5 years old and if the condenser was gone there was no way the freezer would still be working. At that point he said if I wanted to know exactly what the problem was he could pull out his tools to check the pressure but it would cost me 125 dollars. I need the refrigerator repaired so I said OK. He took the back off and declared the condenser to be fine, made several phone calls to get advice on what the problem might be. He wrote up a service bill, said it would cost me 489 dollars to repair and because he had to order several parts and left. The next day I called the manager and expressed my dismay at what had transpired. I also asked for a breakdown of the costs. He sighed and said he had already filed the paperwork but could go find it if I wanted to know. I said I would hold. He said the service man did not break the costs down and he would get the information and call back. That was 2 days ago. Don't hire them.

This is a very nice company, and I will use them again in the future. The latch handle broke on my 5 year old Kitchen Aid diswasher. I had an appointment with another company for repairs, but they never showed up. After calling 6 different companies, none of which wanted the work because it was a small job and the part was hard to find, I found The Appliance Doctor on Angie's List. I spoke with Mark a couple of times to assess what parts I needed. He even told me where to order them on the internet. His son Donald came out a few days later and completed the job in 10 minutes. He was clean, neat, and very polite. He also took some time to answer my questions about a dryer repair. I really liked this company, and their prices were very reasonable. Donald charged me $60 for labor (which was $20 - $60 less than other company quotes).

    BERKLEY APPLIANCE
My latch/handle broke on my Kitchenaid diswasher. Dishwasher is about 5-6 years old, and it is used 3-4 times per week.
I called Berkley Appliance on Monday, February 8, and I spoke with Jim. He took down my model number and told me he would order the part. We arranged a service call for February 11, and Jim said the part would be in by that date.
So, the morning of February 11 rolls around, and no one shows up. Jim gave me a window of 9-12, and I called the office at around 11:30 asking for the status of my service appointment.
I spoke with Mike, and he told me (1) I was never scheduled for a service appointment on February 11, and (2) the part was ordered but it would not SHIP until February 18.
After wasting my whole morning, I spent my entire afternoon calling different appliance repair companies. I finally called Berkley Appliance back around 4 p.m., and I asked them to cancel my parts order. The third man I spoke with (sorry didn't catch his name), had no record of my order. In fact, he called me back 5 minutes later to ask for the spelling of my name and whether I used a different phone number of my order because he couldn't find it.
My family has used Berkley Appliance for years, and that is why I called them. I won't use them in the future.
