    Getting apts before I was pregnant was very difficult, even though I was trying to get pregnant and on fertility drugs. When I finally became pregnant, the scheduling staff didn't want to schedule me before my third month even though I had taken fertility treatments AND multiples run in the family. After I had my baby, I again found it quite difficult to schedule apts when problems arose. It seemed that unless I was pregnant, the office didn't want to deal with me. Now the office has moved, and offers spa treatments and s** toys for sale. I don't want to go to a doctors office where my care is not their primary focus.

    Dr. Mike is an amazing doctor. Besides his professionalism and expertise, he is warm, friendly and put me at ease immediately. He spent a great deal of time with me discussing my options in deciding to go forward with having a child. He was positive and reassuring, but at the same time realistic and helpful. His staff is wonderful as well! They all know my name and tirelessly answer my questions. They have kept in touch with me every step of the way so I don't feel like I am on my own in this journey. They really make me feel cared about. Highly recommended without hesitation! Dr. Mike was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so grateful she did - I'm passing my good fortune on to you!

    It is a big practice with several doctors on staff. The good thing is that you can usually get appointments at fairly short notice (couple of days), the bad thing is that you don't always see the same doctor so it sometimes feel like continuity of care is lost a bit. All the doctors I saw were profession and caring. They listen to you, explain everything, and allow you to make decisions about care. I do, however, often have a hard time getting through to the appointments desk to make an appointment. Also, from my experience, I think the office could use some improvement in the handling of information and communication --my lab reports did't always make their way into my patient folder in a timely way, notes made by the front desk "check out" folks don't always seem to reach the billing person. Billing has been a problem, at least in my experience, especially for procedures that aren't covered by your insurance. It is hard to get a clear answer about how much a procedure will cost and then there is only one person who handles draws up those bills, so if you want to pay out of pocket you often have to wait and have a bill mailed (and in one instance they went ahead and sent it to my insurance even though I had requested to be billed directly). If you need to contact the doctor between visits they have a system (which wasn't fully explained to me but I finally figured out) where you call in and leave a voice message on the nurses' line, then the nurse takes that information and talks to the doctor, then the nurse calls you back at some point during that day (before 3pm) and tells you what the doctor says. I know they have to control access to the doctors, but this system seems to invite miscommunication and misunderstandings. Also, if you work a full time job, it means you have to field calls from them during the day at unscheduled times, often about very personal issues that you don't want to discuss in an office environment. There has to be a better way to do this. They have just moved to a new building and seem to be implementing an electronic medical records system, so maybe this will help some of these problems.

    Since I was a new patient, they sent me a package of information in advance. It included paperwork to complete as well as directions to their office. I had a work conflict crop up which prevented me from keeping my original appointment. Office staff was very professional when I called in advance to re-schedule. They were able to fit me in within the week. On the day of the actual appointment, they took me on time and the nurse practitioner was thorough and willing to answer questions. Overall a very positive experience.
