AGrand Traverse RoofingI made an appointment for an estimate. The owner arrived on time and gave a rough estimate then and later sent a detailed estimate by email. I asked about the negative review on Angie's list and was informed that a medical emergency left him out of contact for several weeks. We discussed the light tube and decided he would do the roof part and I would do the interior finishing. A second appointment was made to finalize details (shingle color and style etc.), and aside from a miscommunication on the date which was resolved with a phone call, the second meeting went well. The crew arrived a little late on the scheduled day. In spite of winds which scattered debris and material, the work went quickly and cleanup was thorough. My wife and I are happy with the work.- Harry R.

Generally I do the work myself. I do use subcontractors, and part time employees mainly because I cannot do all the work myself in a timely fashion. I do general contracting and manage the job so that you get the quality you deserve. I do not offer financing. I do apply down payments to signed estimates ( Quotes). and I never take all the money until the job is completed.

AHe is not willing to cut corners in terms of shoddy workmanship or incomplete work, which may make his prices a bit higher than some others who will do cheap work for a cheap price. I was completely satisfied with his quotes and plan on using him for the actual work once it starts.
He seems qualified in several areas of construction and was able to speak with expertise about roofing type pros and cons as well as being experienced with some progressive building materials (trex decking, concrete siding, etc). He had some great ideas as well as a willingness to explain and discuss the prospective jobs completely. He's also just a fine guy to talk to, letting you be comfortable with him working on and in your house.Reviewed by Daniel H.
