    Smith+Noble LLC
A retired professional drapery installer and I followed the website directions precisely for ordering 3 architectural cornices. The cornice "size & mount" website screen does not ask for total width. The customer is instructed to enter "face width" which in their illustration is the window's actual width, mount (outside or inside), and then clearance (shown as a line extending beyond the width on either side). As a result, we entered the windows actual width (46") plus 3 inches in the clearance box. We double checked by asking via chat whether an entry of 3 inches in the box on the screen marked clearance would give me 1-1/2 inches in addition to the window width. I received 3 cornices that are slightly less than 46" total width. Had they asked for total width, I would have entered 49". Their response? They will give me what I had originally ordered if I pay another 50% of the original price. Furthermore, the hardware brackets (to be installed above the cornices) are so large that there will be too little length for the cornices to cover the shade roller, something that is not indicated on the website. Note: I recently saw where their employees posted that Smith and (Un)-Noble engages in unethical business practices. No surprise there!!! STAY AWAY! They do not honor the language of their Satisfaction Guarantee. I 'm on a fixed retirement income and lost over $300.00 on cornices that can't be used and look like they are made of about $10.00 worth of materials.

blind repaired but felt price for fixing a broken spring was high for price paid earlier for a top notch blind. Had to wait when I arrived to drop off blind due to insufficient help but pick up was easier. Work was done as promsed.

Advantage Blinds Shades & Shutters LLC
It was easy to schedule in-home visit, Michelle was very professional and gave really good advice (she was a voice of reason between my and my husband's different wishes and overwhelming amount of different options). Even though we ordered it during the holiday season, the installation happened much earlier than we expected. Person who installed the shades was also highly professional and finished installation in an hour.

    Mark Ellis Builders
    We started my renovation
project in August 2015 and completed in October 2015. There were also couple of
small additional projects done in February 2016.
Mark and his crew were terrific. Always on
time and ready to start, very polite and hard-working people. This is the best
crew I?ve met so far and I?ve been through many renovation projects.
       Their first job was
landscaping. Mark suggested removing  wild bushes around the house, exposing big
landscaping rocks. When I came home from work, I could not recognize the house!
It looked so pretty from the outside. Mark also suggested mulching the entire
backyard where, because of the lack of sun, there was no grass. The job was
    done fast and professional.
        The next job was
to paint the house. Mark spent hours helping me select the colors. He suggested
we paint the walls in each room different hue but from the same palette,
creating accent walls and making the house visually brighter.  Mark is a great designer and had put a lot of
thoughts into the project.  He has done a
great job.  Every wall in the house is
now of slightly different color but it all works together perfectly.  The work was performed fast. He and his crew
also put a lot of effort into protecting floors, furniture and household items
during the paint process, carefully moving or covering the work area.
Next job was to replace the ugly green tile
in the foyer. Again, I followed Mark?s suggestion and picked Travertine, the
natural stone.  He and his crew installed
and grouted the tiles.  There were a
couple of tiles that looked slightly uneven. When I pointed it out to Mark he
immediately addressed the issue and replaced them the next day.  He also has done a great job installing small
Travertine tiles on the kitchen walls, creating a beautiful backsplash, with
tiles of a darker color as accents.  He
installed similar tiles around the fireplace in the living room, adjacent to
the kitchen. Because of Mark?s selection of materials and design suggestions
everything now looks like a perfect ensemble.
        Mark also helped
redesign the powder room. It looked small and cluttered before. Mark suggested
we replace old, bulky sink with the slick pedestal one,  get rid of a cabinet, put in a new toilet, as
well as modern-looking mirrors, medicine cabinet and other fixtures. He also
painted the powder room different shades of charcoal.  After that, it looked twice as big as before!
Mark and his crew also have replaced old
brass door handles and knobs with the chrome ones, creating a more modern look
for my 16 year old house.  They replaced
light fixtures as well to match door handles and knobs.
Mark also made several very valuable
recommendations about other contractors for the jobs that he does not do
himself. He recommended a great electrician, hardwood floors company and granite
countertops outfit. All his recommendations turned out to be a great success. He
and his crew helped prepare the house for granite and hardwood floors
    installation, thus reducing my expenses.
           Overall, I am
completely satisfied with the outcome of the project. Mark and his crew are
polite, courteous, hard-working people.  All my issues and concerns were addressed professionally
and on time. Mark is very fast in getting back to you by phone, e-mail or text.  He is very optimistic and very enthusiastic
about his work. Working with him was a great pleasure and a lot of fun! He takes
a lot of pride in his work and delivers great results. I would recommend hiring
Mark and his crew to anyone.

I have used Esquire several times, and Joe has always been a responsive and helpful sales person.  He makes sure that we find the right 'look' and always follows things through to successful installation.  I will continue to use Esquire in the future.

Our 17 year old oak flooring had not been refinished ever and it looked pretty bad.  It was the prefinished, tongue and groove type.  So, there were all the grooves that had gathered dirt and darkened.  We talked to Esquire and several other flooring companies and Esquire was the only one who said they could sand the flooring down to remove the grooves and beveled edges.  Joe Gramer came out at the exact time and date to give us an estimate.  He was great to work with.  The flooring crew showed up right on time and worked really hard for 3 days, but got everything done with minimal dust getting around the house.  This included removing all the shoe molding and putting it back.  I was not expecting them to do such a good job filling up cracks and gaps in the flooring that were there after the sanding was done.   They did a lot of filling and more sanding, and the finished floor (with 3 coats of polyurethane) honestly looks better than the floor did originally with all the beveled joints.  I'd highly recommend them for floor refinishing as well as fixing or replacing blinds.

My Handyman of Ann Arbor, Saline, and Chelsea
They did a fine job. Our lead handyman, Brian, is very capable and knowledgeable. They sent two other guys when Brian had another job, and they were fine also. Craftsmanship seems to be very good, and they do a good job at cleanup. They are competent at understanding the tasks and giving us some options on how to get it done. My only complaint is that it takes longer than I would have thought the job would take, thus the higher cost. However, it's good that they don't rush and cut corners.

    Josel Blind Co Inc
Harry at Josel was very responsive and easy to be in contact with, but I do wish he were more detail-oriented. It required 2 extra trips to have the correct blinds installed. On the first trip, he did not recall which sizes were to be installed where, and did not have the correct blinds for one of the windows. Upon returning to install this set of blinds, they were the wrong color, a fact that I had to point out and was not otherwise noticed. He also arrived about 30 minutes before the appointment time, without notice. He did offer a slight discount for the inconvenience, but I got the impression that the goal was to just complete the job as fast as possible rather than ensure he was installing the right product. This was particularly inconvenient for me, with a busy work schedule and limited chances to be home during business hours.

It turned out really well. I know there are cheaper alternatives and the cost seemed like a lot of money, but they are very good quality. If there’s any problem, ever, they will come out and fix it. I would say that they are very good quality but you have to be prepared for the price. They were very easy to work with. They had somebody come out and give advice about color. I knew they were expensive. It’s a good value if you’re willing and you got the money for it. I haven’t had any trouble with them. They showed up every time when they said they would for the initial discussion and installation. I haven’t had to call them back for anything. I was really very happy with the work.

The father and son team came out, showed us samples, and helped us select honeycomb blinds.  They measured the windows.  Three weeks later, they came back, installed the blinds, and took away our old blinds and all of the trash.  The new blinds look great.
