DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I wanted to hire a company to take me to a colonoscopy appointment. I first called Jewish Family services and Catholic Social Services, which were less expensive. But they had VERY limited availability and didn't seem very dependable. Senior Helpers was extremely responsive. They answered the phone (I didn't have to leave a voice mail message), they came out to my house for an interview soon after I called them. They gave me a packet of information about their services. The BBB reported no complaints about them. They gave me references upon my request, and they matched me up with an appropriate caregiver. I asked them to have the caregiver call me for a chat before my actual appointment, and they agreed to that. I liked the caregiver immediately. She surprised me by coming to my house a day in advance to make sure she knew how to get here. She was early the day of the appointment. I appreciated how conscientious she was. She was very supportive and encouraging all through the experience. I haven't gotten the bill yet, but they gave me a list of their fees, and I find them reasonable ($19/hr, and .50/mile). I would use them again and would recommend them to friends.
