    Solis lawn care llc
Mr. Solis and his team were professional and did a great job. When I called to inquire about the work he came out to discuss with me quickly. He worked with me to make sure the odd dimensions I wanted and the exact placement would be correct. He finished in the time he predicted and the quality of work was excellent. I would recommend this company to everyone. He mentioned he also does a lot of other kinds of work, and I am planning to have him come out and do a few other types of things in future

It went great, they were able to get it all done in one day and it looks great. They cleaned up very well, the damage to the existing grass was minimal, less then I expected. His crew worked very well together. It looked like they were working on their own homes. Great communication before the job, would always answer my calls in a very timely manner. Would definitely use again.

The estimator came on time and provided an estimate of the cost as well as an estimate of the time it would take to complete the work. He told us that they will fill cracks into which a credit card would fit and that the smaller cracks might increase in size when the surface was ground. His estimate was for the grinding, filling two cracks and polishing at the end. He also asked us to complete a credit card form so that they could charge the 50% that they required up front. We completed this and returned the form. Then they gave us a date and time when they would come to do the work. On that morning we waited and waited and they didn't come. When I called, I was told that they had to re-schedule and did no apologize for not informing us or not coming. On the second date, the man who came to do the actual work ,looked at the job and said immediately that it would take much longer than the one and a half days that the estimator had told us. It actually took two days. We were at home the entire time and told both the worker and the estimator that we would be available to answer any questions. At no time did either of them consult us when a decision needed to be made. At the end of the third day, I looked at the patio as the worker was finishing up and saw that the smaller cracks had indeed opened up and that they had not filled them. The cracks that they had filled were filled with two different materials that were entirely different colors. In addition, they had to remove two small cement supports for an awning and they had filled one and not the other. When I asked why the smaller cracks had not been filled, the worker said that he had asked the estimator, instead of asking us, and the estimator had told him not to fill them because it was not in the contract. In fact, there was no signed contract. In addition, the estimate had included a fee for coming out and setting up. When I called the estimator to question this decision, he repeated, that the smaller cracks were not in the contract. When I spoke with his manager, he repeated the same statement. At this point they had not charged the 50% deposit and I closed that credit card, so that they could not charge the full amount. I also informed them that I had done this and that they would need a new authorization to charge anything. We corresponded by email with the manager and said we wanted them to return to fill in the additional cracks and the second support, and we didn't expect to pay the set-up fee. We also wanted to remove the dark green filler and replace it with a filler that was a closer color match. To show our good faith, we made a partial payment by check. A second worker was sent out to do the work this time. Although we chose the color of the filler from an email attachment, it also did not match the other filler. In the process we learned the name of the product they were using and the supplier that they used. When we called the supplier and the manufacturer of the product, we learned that this product is not made for outdoor use!!! When we tried to address this problem with the manager, he quickly became hostile and denied that the product was not for outdoor use. We made another partial payment, but the manager demanded the full amount. He also threatened to put a lien on our house for the remainder that was due for the shoddy work they had done. When we told him how we had learned that this was not an appropriate product for our patio, we never heard form him again. At no time did he apologize for the lousy job and his treatment of us. We have owned three homes over the course of over 40 years and have never been treated this way by any other contractor. We have hired plumbers, remodelers, carpenters, roofers, painters and more. Under no circumstances would I recommend this company again. Ohio (Michigan) Concrete has no concept of the meaning of customer service. They tried to bully us. It was a horrible ordeal.

Of course, only time will tell how long my driveway will last, but it appears that they did a great job. They prepared the soil much better than the original job, bedded with gravel, and compacted well. The surface finish and saw cuts were done well also. Mike and Joe were great to work with and their crew seemed to be very professional. They worked well with my landscaper to improve the drainage around the driveway as well. I am very likely to have them do more work for me in the future.

Well! Mike was prompt with his reply to my request for a bid, stayed true to his word with the amount and the supplies, performed the work within a week, and pledged to return at any time if there were any problems with his work. Mike is young, but he is a good business person with a cheerful disposition and a goal of providing the best work possible.

Contractors will sometimes need to move things to perform work. Then unless agreed to otherwise I would expect the contractor to put things back the way they were. They were supposed to take one day to do the work. They showed up late the first day. The first day they accidentally crushed a water pipe coming into my house. They didn't finish that day. They had to move the washing machine and dryer away from the wall. They removed two sinks and a toilet. They also moved a work bench away from the wall and removed a door. Since none of these items had been discussed, it clearly was their responsibility to move them back or reinstall them to their original condition. They had to remove concrete around the exterior walls to install their system. On the second day, the installation of the sump pump was finished. They had poured concrete to replace the concrete removed. However the washing machine and dryer hadn't been moved back and reconnected. Nor had they reinstalled the sinks and toilet or rehung the door. They had not moved the work bench back. I heard nothing from them about finishing the job. A couple days later I called them to complain. The person I talked with had an unprofessional attitude and at first claimed that I had been told about moving things away from the way as if that meant they didn't need to doing. I explained the items that had been moved and what I expected from them. He agreed to come back and finish up. They then came back and reinstalled the washing machine and dryer and two sinks, but did not reinstall the toilet, rehang the door or move the workbench back.

It went well.   They started sooner than estimated and finished on schedule.  Very courteous and responsive to questions and concerns.  Addressed all issues promptly and satisfactorily.  Did a great job of cleaning up and left the site better than when they began.

Everything went extremely well! Mike and Shawn are very responsive in communications, clear in their explanations of what they planned to do, and highly punctual in getting the work done! They made sure I was satisfied with the work performed, and offered follow up service on a part of the driveway repair should it be necessary. Very reasonably priced, I'm quite satisfied with the work performed, and would use them again!

    T. Burkes Asphalt & Concrete
We first heard of T. Burke's from our neighbor across the street, who had them re-do his driveway. He is a building contractor himself, and we figured he would make a good choice for the job. The resulting new driveway was very attractive, and it had a new additional parking space to one side, which was an idea we really liked.
It took a little while to get on the schedule, which was a good sign, because it meant there was a demand for their work. Finally , the landscaper subcontractor came in and replaced the retaining wall last fall. Because of an unexpected expense fixing another problem with our house, we asked T. Burke's if they could defer the actual re-paving until this spring, and they agreed.
When we re-contacted T. Burke a month ago, they were waiting for their asphalt supplier to restart operations after their winter break. They promised to contact us at the beginning of May to schedule the work. Early Monday morning May 2nd, T. Burke's coordinator called us to see if we would be ready to have them start work that day. We said yes, and they showed up about an hour later to start work. By afternoon they had removed the old asphalt, excavated the poor clay soil under it, and laid a solid-looking foundation of rock and gravel.
Tuesday morning May 3rd, they showed up early, but they had to wait a while for their asphalt supplier to start bringing loads of asphalt. Finally mid-morning that started, and the crew went to work. By early afternoon they had finished. We were extremely pleased with the result.
As instructed, we did not drive on it for 48 hours. But it was well worth the wait, and we really appreciated the great improvement in driving. The old driveway had been developing potholes (like many Michigan roads), so it was a real pleasure not to lurch up our own driveway. We are also looking forward to making use of the extra parking space on the side of the driveway. That space will make it much more convenient for our children when they come to visit. And we especially appreciated being able to drive straight into the driveway, without having to jump over the 3 inch lip at the entrance to the garage caused by the old asphalt's sinking.
We rated T. Burke's as 'excellent' in everything except price, for which we rated them as 'good'. The only reason we did not give them 'excellent' for that is that we did not do any comparison shopping, and so we do not know how their price compares to other contractors. It is possible that there are others who are cheaper. But we were not looking for cheapest, but for value, and we are confident we got that.

Midwest came by and left an unsolicited note on my door noting that there were masonry issues at the bottom of the garage (easily seen from the street) and on the chimney.  You had to stand closer to the house to see the chimney issues but it would have been possible to see the problems from the ground - if you knew what to look for.  I was well aware of the issue by the garage because it was something I had been planning to do something about - I just didn't know who to call.  I had a cap put on the chimney and a lot of work done on the top several rows when I moved into the house (about 15 years ago).  The work I had done at the time was by a man who was suggested by the person who inspected my house before I bought it.  The work I had done at that time cost me in excess of $4000 - and he did not do a very good job - so I was a little nervous about getting the work done again.  Blake, from Midwest, came to evaluate the job within a couple of days of my contact.  He took pictures and climbed up on the roof and took more pictures.  The earlier job on the chimney top had crumbled and I could see all the cracks in the mortar in the pictures.  Jeff called me back with an estimate ($2750) that was a better price for more work than what I had paid 15 years ago.  They did excellent work matching my bricks (they aren't made anymore) and completing the work in a timely fashion.  The job was completed in another week or two - weather and my going out of town intervened.  They did a wonderful job for a good price.  I'm very happy with their work, their professionalism, and the price - and I plan to have them back in the spring to re-pour my concrete driveway.
