    GREAT LAKES PAVING
In many ways they did a good job but there were a couple issues, and John Allen took absolutely no ownership or recognition that the issues were relevant. Issue #1. The drainage does not go to the drain directly, it ran off a foot away from the drain relying on the landscaping to be sloped to the drain. The original driveway drained directly into the drain and this requirement was discussed before the job. Make sure all your requirements are in writing, John was not flexible or friendly about this. I now have to extend the drain to eliminate erosion and make sure the water flows into the drain and both the garage. Issue #2 The area in front if the 3rd garage stall and turn around is rough and not the same smoothness as in front of the 2 car garage. The guy with the roller there amount of time required on three main drive area but not enough time on the turn around. Clearly looks like patch work. Issue #3 mobile basketball pole was moved by their Bobcat equipment and made two large cracks in the plastic. John had seen the location of the basketball pole and said it was off the driveway enough. The workers shipped not have moved it. All 3 issues have photos given to John and walked the work with John and he defended the work. If you want a job done right without arguments you should avoid Great Lakes Paving and John Allen.

    Huyser Asphalt Paving & Sealcoating
I asked for three quotes from different companies in the area. Huyser was the only company that called me to talk about my project. The other companies sent quotes by email. Huyser gave us the best price, came to do the work when they said they were going to and did a great job. Everyone from huyser was professional and curtious from the sales rep to the guys that did the work,

They just finished the 2nd coat and my driveway looks like the day it was installed. Most of my driveway is at least 20+ years old. That said, I have, over the years coated it myself with products I purchased at Home Depot or Lowes. I always buy the most expensive product and I have always been pleased with result but I'm in my mid 70's and it's getting to be too much of a job for me. Procoat is the answer and Jay is the man. You could not ask for a more pleasant experience or a better job.

    SNYDER'S ASPHALT
It turned out great - the contractor showed up as promised (even early - but let us know about it). We decided to chip seal the pavement rather than replace it. The cracks and dips were repaired and then a layer of hot asphalt was applied then a layer of fine gravel. It looks great in a wooded setting. We chose not to "fog seal" the gravel (a top thin layer of asphalt) because we like the natural look and don't feel the need to have a black driveway. The stone was lighter than I thought it would be but we like it. I understand that plowing will not be an issue and they will return to clean up any stray gravel in a couple of months. The process was surprisingly neat.

    PROCOAT INC
They came out promptly when I called for an estimate. ?They detailed out the exact nature of the repairs as well as the cost?and we scheduled a time to do the work. ?Even though we had spurts of lousy weather, they were able to get everything done by working diligently and professionally in a relatively narrow weather window.? When they came back to apply the final coat, they noted some areas that weren't to their satisfaction and they took care of them. ?After the job had been completed,?I had a small area that needed a touchup and they promptly took care of that also. ?Again, they went above and beyond. ?A very competent team and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting professional maintenance of their asphalt driveway. Sorry - there is no provision for a rating of A+

Very nice patch job, seal coating looks perfect and made the driveway look new again.  Showed up on time, very professional, did not spray the grass or mulch on sides of the driveway.  We recommended them to several neighbors as well.  Will use them again in the future.

    Flat River Asphalt
I called Flat River Asphalt to roll our newly installed driveway. Bruce, the owner, arrived on time and was very professional. The quality of work was outstanding and his price was very reasonable. He did not rush and paid careful attention to every detail. I highly recommend his services and will continue to use him in the future.

    • They quickly answered my voicemail message and came over the next day to provide a quote.  I checked prices and asked them to do the work at the first opportunity.  They arrived within a day, were timely, and did high quality work.  Excellent in every category.

    A 1 Asphalt Inc
They were not our first choice, but getting contractors to even come to an appoitment is tuff, and the first choice would not return calls to even schedule the job.
A -1 stopped and gave a good bid, then they too dragged thier feet about a start time, then the Demolition crew arrived and did a great job removing and reshaping the drive..all good.
then ..nothong, no call and they did not return to pave the drive. They did not come the next day??, I called 3 times before someone returned my call and I spoke to Andy the scheduler...he thought the job was done? After i explained they had not returned, he informed me they had and quot; other Obligations that week, and would not be out until the following week!...I asked wasn't i an Obligation?? Not enough.
They arrived at 3PM the following week, and started paving , they did the first coat , and then left. Again no call, no expalation for when they would be back, or why it was not finished? We waited , 1 day no calls , no return to our calls, 2 days then Gary Walters texts that they needed extra time for the material to dry??Multiple calls and no returns, no manager to speak to. But i got the bill for the first layer of paving the next day...they started billing me before the job was completed?
The next week they arrived without notice and Gary calls , and quot; you need to get home and open your garage door so they can pave under the doorand quot;, so i have to drive back to my house and open the door, then go back to work??
The drive Has 2 seams down the middle, there is a watermellon size rough patch near the opening, and the drive is still leaving tire prints wherever we park a car 3 moths after the Blacktop was installed??
Called A-1 , they always refer me back to GAry Walters, he does not call me back 4-6 calls, then asked for a supervisor, can't talk to him, Brian, but leave a message...then Gary walters texts me and quot;you have a Problem?and quot; I tell him about the Imprints, then seams , the rough spot...he tells me he'll check...then 2 weeks Later i call, and Gary texts he sees only 1 spot and this shouldand quot;pop outand quot;.
I'M DONE! THESE GUYS SUCK AT SERVICE, COMMUNICATION, FOLLOW UP, AND START BILLING BEFORE THE JOB IS EVEN DONE!! I WOULD NEVER HAVE THESE PEOPLE TO ANY WORK FOR ME EVER AGAIN.
THINK TWICE NO 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU USE THESE GUYS, AND CHECK THE CONTRACT...SMALL PRINT!!! GOOD LUCK.
