  • Within minutes, removed toilet, clear obstruction, replaced toilet and solved our problem of a toilet which would not flush even after augering. Cleaned up and overall excellent work. Nice guy too. Recommend him to anyone with a drain problem.

  • Atlas by far has been the best water company we have had.The water has never been cleaner and they truly stand behind their work.I would highly recommend to anyone, always got a call back and a followup until our water was perfect!!! Thank you so much

  • It was quite simply seamlessly done, true experts. John came over and we diagnosed my options. 24hrs later his crew showed up. These guys were respective, courteous, and quite honestly they didn't leave until the house was cleaned up and all questions were answered. Icing on the cake is that I was given a great estimate and they hit that target once the project was completed. It's nice to know that I can store these guys in my list of contacts and label them simply "the plumber". I highly recommend you do the same.

  • Prior to being able to get to us, John helped us, over the phone, with suggestions of what to do until he was able to come and fix our leaky pipe.
He and his employee arrived very promptly, quickly determined where the leak was and proceeded to fix it. That required pulling out our kitchen stove, cutting a small hole in the wall to access the leak and working in a very tight space. None of which was a problem for them! The pipe was very quickly repaired and everything returned as it had been. John is very professional and personable and we would certainly call them again!

  • It went very poorly to say the least!
For starters, the plumber deliberately overcharged me for travel time.  They charged me for 1 hour and 30 minutes.  The person who came to the house was here for only 1 hour and 7 minutes (I always time plumbers and electricians to the minute in order to avoid being overcharged).
I contacted Chris Donnell's assistant.  She said I had erroneously been charged for travel time (as my home is located just a few minutes from their location).
They promised to issue me a credit but failed to do so, instead re-billing me for the entire amount months later out of the blue!
Also, they failed to perform the work properly, leaving a foul smell of solvent under my cabinet.  They did not correct or attempt to mitigate the problem, leaving me with no place to put my pots and pans except in the living room.
Also, the plumber who came to the house was very inexperienced (may not have been a plumber at all, but just an apprentice).
All in all, very poor quality work and was overcharged for the work on top of that.
In summary, I would absolutely avoid Chris Donnell Plumbing and Heating at all costs!

  • All communication was very pleasant and accommodating, his office staff person is very nice and helpful.  Chris was on time, efficient, and did a great job.   He reused the existing baseboard, so no new covers were needed.
Chris will be returning as we work on a planned bathroom renovation.  He will be my regular plumber for all future work.

  • I am upgrading my original review.

The owner's wife did get back to me via e-mail several days after I wrote my first review, with the estimates that I had requested.  Her reply was very courteous and professional, indicating that the company had been extremely busy over the last few weeks and apologizing for the delay.

The owner will come to my home on June 15th to install my kitchen sink.  I will update my review again on June 15th after the sink is installed.  My original review is noted below.

It did not go well.  The owner came up to my home on 5/1/15 to provide an estimate on the above work.  He promised to get back to me with an estimate and never did.  Follow up communications were not answered.
Personally, I think it had to do with lack of plumbing experience.  A portion of this plumbing job was somewhat challenging and he appeared to be scared when he saw the scope of the project.
That is fine...but at a minimum, he should have acknowledged my subsequent communications.
The company failed to respond to subsequent attempts to communicate.
In sum, lack of professionalism in failure to keep promise to provide estimate - and if not capable of doing this job - at least state as such, so that I could find someone else.
I would definitely not use this plumbing outfit for any of my work and would not recommend his services to anyone.

  • Chris went above and beyond for this job. He cut the tile counter top to accommodate the slightly larger sink. Most plumbers would have said and quot;call me when it fitsand quot;. He is my permanent plumber in York, MA. Highly recommended!

  • My new and quot; go toand quot; guy for plumbing issues in the seacoast area.On the night of the 25th my heating (FHW) system went down . When I awoke the house was cold so I called my heating oil provider. He came within 2 hours and met me at the door talking on his cell phone. I showed him to the furnace and he looked at it for about 5 minutes before saying that I had a freeze up somewhere and needed a plumber. He also said to replace two valves on the system and left... while still talking on his cell phone! I was billed $188.00 for this service call of 10 minutes duration and still had no heat in the house. I then came to Angies list and found Dan Kellogg Plumbing. The tempature outside was around zero with a strong NW'ly breeze blowing lowering wind chill tempatures well below zero I had to get heat into the house quick or risk serious damage.I called Mr Kellogg and explained the situation. He was at my house within 50 minutes. He had the proper valves on his truck as well as and all the other stock and equipment to quickly and properly effect repairs to the system. He had the system drained down and the repairs effected within an hour. He also noticed that my return shut off valves were the screw type located on the circulators. I told him not to close these cause the last time they were closed it took a couple weeks for the valves to properly reseat and stop leaking. He then suggested that I replace then with butterfly valves which again he had on his truck. He did so and with that effected we had heat back on in the house 1 hour and a half after he arrived. He then stayed around for another 2 and a half hours to make sure that all the air was out of the system and personally verified that each loop was delivering heat to all rooms served. He also flushed the entire systems water and replaced it with fresh. This was important as the old water remaining in the system was black with rust and debris. That was a contributing factor to the water fill valve and safety valves failure with this debris clogging them up. All told Mr Kellogg was at my house for about 4 hours, For this he only billed $335.00 for labor and materials. When compared to the $188.00 I paid for the cell phone talking repair man puts in sharp foucus the delineration between a good service provider and a bad one. I have since changed my oil service provider over this incident and his intraniance to modify his bill. It costs me 6 cents more a gallon now but hey... thats a lot of useless service calls. I highly recommend Dan Kellogg to all whom my be seeking a good qualified plumber.

  • My mother had her very old water heater replaced last summer and we found Mr. Pettigrew on Angie's List. I live out of town but I spoke to him on the phone and arranged a date for an estimate. My mother said he arrived on time, gave a fair estimate and arranged a date to return to do the work. On the appointed day, he arrived on time, did the work, cleaned up, and took the old water heater away. She was very pleased that it was done efficiently and quickly.
