  • When I contacted this office to try to get an appointment, the person to whom I first spoke asked me some questions about what medications I was on, and so I told her what I could remember off the top of my head. In my opinion, this was an informal sort of request on her part, to get an idea of my medications, not a formal report or request to ensure I had divulged all of them at that time. Again, informally, at my desk, not near my medications. She said she'd call back and let me know if Dr. Lauer would take me as a patient. She didn't call back in the time frame she had indicated, so I called them and spoke to someone else. Again this person asked for my medications, which I gave her, again off the top of my head, nothing formal, but this time I included a prescription pain medication that I use on rare occasion, sort of as an aside. Again this information was to be discussed with Dr. Lauer to see if he would take me as a patient. This second office person called me back and informed me that because I had not divulged the pain medication to the first person but only to the second, that Dr. Lauer would not be willing to take me as a patient (because the impression was that I was drug-seeking, which I most assuredly was not). I tried to explain this to the office person (who, by the way, was quite professional and nice), but she felt that Dr. Lauer would not even hear my explanation, had made up his mind, and that was that.

    |I must say I was very upset by this attitude, to the point that I called back to speak with that office person again, explained how upset I was with what I felt was a lack of honesty on their part - if that was how Dr. Lauer was going to base his decision, then perhaps I should have been told UP FRONT that I needed to make SURE I told them EVERY medicine I took, no matter how infrequent their use.

    |I did not appreciate being made to feel my intent was criminal in trying to establish primary care, because of a quick phone call.

  • The physical therapist was very good and very helpful. She was willing to listen to what my needs were and work in those parameters. Her office was cheery and she was very personable. However, the waiting area left something to be desired; it seemed very stuffy, not very well-ventilated, and any magazines were old and very worn. My appointments were a couple of years ago, so I can't be overly specific, but I recall the office staff themselves as seeming rather bored with the whole thing and not really eager to make conversation or pleasantries. But my biggest complaint would be the waiting room space itself, really not very inviting.

  • Dr. Carreira was very pleasant and professional and seems knowledgeable and was willing to listen to my personal dental concerns without brushing me off (no pun intended). His hygienist was also friendly and gentle, and looked for ways to provide the best service and treatment while minimizing costs, as I do not have dental insurance. I'm very pleased!
