    Mainely Water
Chuck got the appropriate model in advance and installed it. It is working flawlessly. Several local techs--supposedly trained in Rinnai products--had serviced the heater and not seen a very obvious flaw, a missing external drain hose, leading to the premature rusting and death of the heater. He fitted the work into his busy schedule even though I told him that speed was unnecessary. He was concerned that I have hot water since I had just had major surgery and couldn't drive to shower at the YMCA for several weeks. He returned right away when, a few days later, a mouse invaded the vent. He uses communication technology: it took seconds to pay via Quicken (though it would be nice to have all the details, e.g., parts, labor, discounts, on one document for a visit). The Mainely Water website has a lot of info on systems, problems, and solutions in very clear language; and it's so convenient that I can text him when I'm free instead of, say, having to wait for an 8 AM business opening (when I'll be working and unable to call). Maine winters are long and cold, and it's reassuring to have a competent, considerate pro.

    Mainely Water
Chuck not only repaired the leak, he also spotted and repaired an error in the original installation that would allow our drinking water to be contaminated. His work was neat and professional. I have had him return to install an on-demand gas water heater and a third time to take care of a plumbing problem caused by a frozen waste line. He arrived when he said he would and I considered his charges well within what I expected to pay.

Installed 2 water heaters and maintained valves etc on 3 furnaces.? The guys did a lot of work and I am completely pleased with the result.? It was a good chunk of money to pay but I do think it was a fair price.

    Mainely Water
We hired Mainely Water to install a Rinnai water heater in our home back in September (2016). The process was simple. Chuck was very informative. He scoped out our mechanical room and quoted a system in about 1/2 hour. Installation about 4 days later. The new water heater is so nice ! We have never run out of hot water like we did before. And our gas bill in next to nothing. We are believers ! We highly recommend Chuck & his company.

    Mid-Coast Energy Systems Inc
It took a month or so to get to the root of the problem, but Nick was persistent and committed to finding the answer. He would fix it, it would be fine, then a week or two later it stopped working again. We were credited the hours we paid for when the fix wouldn't last because he didn't feel he had solved the problem--I was impressed! (We didn't even ask for a credit!) I appreciated that Nick was so professional and personable and loyal to our problem and committed to finding us a solution. He eventually brought in Caitlin to join him and the two worked tirelessly until they could figure it out with the help of tech support.

I think they did a good job. They did the work very quickly and cleaned up after themselves. The water heater gauge broke at one point but they came back out to fix it very quickly.

He was very prompt in returned phone calls and arrived on time.  Very courteous and professional.  We liked that he had his license information on his web page and his web page is professionally done.

    Randy Sprague Heating & Plbg
The installation process progressed very well. Randy Sprague carefully reviewed my requirements with me and recommended a gas and an oil system that would satisfy my requirements. I chose the gas system because it was the most efficient, quiet and compact. However, it was also the most expensive of the systems I considered. (I received estimates and recommendations from more than one contractor.) Upon signing the contract, I received proof that the contractor had liability insurance from his insurance agent and useful information about Maine contract law. Few contractors provide such detailed information up front in my experience. Most of the new heating system was assembled on a wall board at the contractor's shop. The installation took two days. On the first day of installation, the new components were put in place but not connected to the existing heating and tap water system. The oil burner continued to heat the house and tap water until the second day. Most of the oil was carefully removed from the oil tank. On the second day, the oil burner was shutdown and disconnected and the new system connected. This process left the house without heat for about an hour. The oil burning system and oil tank were removed without incident. Do ensure that the contractor is licensed and able to remove oil properly. An oil spill can be very costly to clean up. Some adjustments were necessary to ensure that the existing programmable thermostats would work properly with the new system and the tap water temperature was appropriate for my existing dishwasher. The contractor resolved issues promptly. I am very pleased with the operation of the new system. Do check your dishwasher's manual for the required tap water temperature and ensure that the hot water temperature is appropriate. Do check the operation of your thermostats and refer any problems to the contractor. These new systems are very sophisticated and require and quot;tweaking.and quot; Randy Sprague's people were made aware of issues and resolved them promptly. The contractor also coordinated the installation with the gas supplier. This coordination is very important. Do select your fuel supplier early and start the coordination process to avoid delays in the installation.
