    Our electric water heater started having a slow leak. We called Pine State Plumbing to assess the situation. They were able to send a technician within a few hours, where it was determined that our electric hot water heater needed to be replaced. We were told that the technician would clean our gas furnace, as we requested, while a new hot water tank was being delivered. We were informed of how things were progressing, and our questions were answered; the technicians were polite, worked efficiently, and worked carefully and even wore booties over their shoes! Our project was completed in a very timely fashion, and our new hot water tank was now fully operational, along with a nice clean furnace! We could not have been more pleased with our service!

    The Pine State employee / technical told me he had to create TWO service orders for installing our new gas stove- 1. about 350.00 just to disconnect the existing stove's gas line (5 minute job); and 2. about another 380.00 to install the new gas stove, just put in the little orfices, hook up the gas line and push into the spot.... nothing else. I commented that this was more than the stove cost (both together) and the technician told me they get that a lot, especially from 'older people' and he went on to highlight an install charge for a widow for a stove and it cost more than her new stove cost...she was dismayed... the technician seemed to take a bit of delight, as if he got some sort of commissions. I had the work done by a professional plumber for 150.00 total. Really bad and unsustainable business model, rip folk off now but somehow assume they will be loyal customers? serious?

    I am disapppointed with Wayne���s lack of professionalism and essentially punishing me as a customer for not accepting his bid which was higher than my existing propane supplier (Downeast Energy), who had also installed another unit on my property earlier. I now regret even giving him the opportunity to get additional business from me.

    WAYNE HALL'S HEATING SVC
    We had been working with Wayne on our HVAC system, since we purchased our home last year. Wayne came across as laid back, but professional. We were experiencing an issue that could not be diagnosed and had Wayne in a few times to attempt to identify the problem. Though Wayne could not figure it out, another local craftsman- our plumber- put his finger on it. Figuring the problem was complex, we continued working with Wayne, ultimately asking us to quote us on a replacement/install of a new furnace. After twice sending subcontractors into our home to gain some insight on the job, months later we received a number, without any justification on his quote. When we asked for some insight, Wayne provided a high level breakdown, which we used to perform due diligence on our side for product quality and price. The price he quoted us on the furnace was over 50% higher than the price of the product online. So we asked Wayne to provide a little more insight on his labor and materials estimate. At this point, Wayne simply responded "No". A follow up call revealed that he would not give us insight into the dimensions of our system, which he had measured by a subcontractor twice (he lost the first set of numbers), letting us know that he had it calculated correctly. He would not give us insight into his labor charges, citing the fact that we were the first customer in 30 years to suggest that they would like to know that information. Whereas Wayne does not come off to me as a bad person, in the least, he is certainly resting on his laurels as a technician and is unwilling to entertain customer inquiry into cost. Who doesn't want to know what they are being charged for?? I find that to be an alarming trait for a serviceman and DO NOT recommend that you hire Wayne to service your home.

    We have used Pine State Services in the past and have been pleased. We were able to work with their team who were all great. One of the owners Jim Marcisso found the unit that worked best for our needs and fit our budget, which we were very appreciative of. Then the installation went seamless. It was led by one of their seasoned technicians, Robbie Gravel. Robbie seemed to know his craft very well and worked in a small space very efficiently and professionally, an got the job done ahead of time and without incident. The heat is back on and we are very happy with the service. I would a absolutely use them again and recommend them to other businesses or home owners

    He does quality work with value and uncompromising ethics. My wife and I both work and he has performed most of our jobs with no one home.     HORIZON RESIDENTIAL ENERGY SERVICES MAINE LLC
    This is by far the largest project I have done on the house since purchasing it almost 4 years ago. The scope was large and it took about 2.5 weeks to complete all the work but I cannot say enough about Margo and her team. Honestly there were so many things done that no one would read my review if I wrote everything because it would be so long. In brief, almost 100% of my dealings were with Margo, the team leader. She and I communicated almost daily during the project, as I was usually gone before they arrived and home after they had left. I never had any issues getting a hold of her, discussing options or ways we should proceed with certain aspects of the project. The crew was always there on time and very respectful of our home and time. My wife who saw/spoke to the workers more often commented to me how hard they worked every day and never hesitated to check with her on things or ask questions if needed. Margo was great in helping me get set up with EM and getting all of the rebates pushed through which totaled more than $2000 when all said and done. There were only a few small snags along the way but nothing that was not dealt with quickly and efficiently thanks to Margo's attentiveness to detail. The crew was great about providing education and instruction when it came to the heat pumps, heat pump water heater and controls that had been set on the boiler. The insulation guys with Horizon did a great job creating a door and cover for the stairs leading into the attic to help really seal things up after doing so much work under the plywood floor up there. The experience was great and I have no reservations about recommending Horizon to anyone looking to do any type of energy upgrades to their home. I am hoping to use them again in the future to potentially install a few more heat pumps and then convert the entire home to solar as all water/heating/cooling will be electric at that time. Margo was also very honest and realistic with recommending certain upgrades and what I could expect to see for return on my investment and I never felt as though she was just trying to make money and move on to the next project. Thanks to Margo and everyone at Horizon for all the hard work, can't wait to see that oil bill plummet this winter and I know I certainly enjoy having that old tank less coiled boiler off during the summer!     Everything went great. I worked with Margo who was able to come out very quickly to perform the audit. She was great at explaining things as she went along and what the results of the blower door testing and infra-red camera results would mean in terms of heat loss. She spent probably >1hr with me discussing potential options for how to improve the homes energy efficiency and was not biased for one particular methodology whether that be a new oil/propane boiler, pellet boiler, heat pumps or solar. The report that she sent with all of the potential options and cost savings was very helpful in me making my determination about what I was going to invest a substantial amount of money in. She was very easy to communicate with via email and would always get back to me within 24-48hrs. As a result of the great service I elected to hire them for a variety of improvements that we ended up doing on the home. I would recommend them for the energy audit service with out hesitation.
