    I picked them with no prior knowledge other than myriad 5 star reviews and customer comments. We had the crew meet us at the homeowners, they were very polite, neatly dressed and spent time introducing themselves to us and the homeowner. Then they carefully began wrapping the shelves and removing the top part of the hutch. It was wrapped in plastic before the moving blanket was added. The same process was used on the bottom piece. The homeowner’s comment was where did you find this company! Our home is over a hundred years old and it isn’t easy to get this in, but they did. They reinstalled the hutch before leaving. If I could give them more than an A rating I would. Additionally their prices were reasonable, the owner’s interaction with me via email was timely, and I was able to pay the down payment through an online system. Highly recommend

    SC Moving and its owner, Christopher Ian, and his crew, is the best moving experience I've ever had! And my husband and I have moved nine times across and around the country! Chris is so careful, and is wonderful to his staff. He moved our family from South Portland to Old Orchard Beach six years ago. He has been the moving company for the Portland Symphony. I learned about him and his company through one of the musicians in the Portland Symphony who has been very impressed with his work. His work ethic is outstanding, and his attention to his customers' requests and extra items is terrific. His prices are very fair, and he is always on time, prepared for all aspects of the move, kind and courteous to everyone.

    The owner (manager?) was behind the desk when I arrived. He greeted me & asked what I was looking for, then led me to the bookcases. When I'd made my selection, he rang it up & helped me put it in the car. The quality of the piece was much higher than unfinished furniture I saw at other local stores. The joints fit tightly. Screw holes were plugged with wooden caps. The wood was almost entirely free of knots (unusual for pine) and none were large or falling out or located at the edge of the board. Everything was sanded smooth, and there were no splinters or dents. I noticed that drawers on other items (my bookcase didn't have any) were generally assembled with dovetails, not just nails or staples. Finally, the price was lower than other stores by about $20.

    After purchasing 2 chair mats over 2 years ago, one failed.  I filed a claim on the mat under the lifetime warranty and it was approved, manufactured and shipped within weeks.  These people not only provide a quality product but back it up with action.  I used to go through 2-3 chair mats a year from national chains that sold relatively expensive mats.  How many times to you go to a counter or pick up the phone with the warrantied items and fear the barrage of questions and hassles you get when you say "this item has failed and it has a lifetime warranty"!  Well it was incredible.  Chairmats USA apologized and processed my request with a smile.  I know chair mats seem pretty insignificant in life but when you use them as much as I do and to have a company really mean a lifetime warranty without a hassle, it makes me remember that there are great companies out there that stand by their products.

    We visited several showrooms in the Portland area, looking for a couch for a new apartment. We liked Young's because of the wide selection of sectionals and the prices were reasonable. Everything was going well until we gave our sales associate (Jolene) our credit card, which is when she told us that our couch (which is not custom-made) wouldn't be delivered for AT LEAST 8 weeks. I understand some lag time between order and delivery, but we felt 2 months was really unreasonable, especially since this wasn't a custom fabric, color, or design by any means. They half-heartedly offered to provide a "loaner" couch for the 2 months, but they never called us about it. And when we called to inquire about that program about a week our purchase, they said they only had one couch available and it was too disgusting to loan out. So...we're now on week 10 and it's been radio silence from Young's and our associate. We called her this week to get a status update. She informs us that the couch is there (how long it's been there...not sure. No one bothered to call us). Jolene informs us that we still have to wait 2 weeks for delivery. Since Young's didn't bother to check on the couch, she couldn't schedule our delivery ahead of time. I can't comment on the quality of the couch because we haven't even seen it yet. But this experience has been frustrating enough that even if this couch is wonderful, it just wasn't worth the experience we had at Young's.

    This is the worst experience we have ever had with a furniture store. The salesperson misled us about the furniture guarantee.  The delivered furniture quality did not match what we were shown in the storeroom.  Management refused to return multiple calls regarding problems with the delivered furniture.  Stay away from this place.

    I have bought furniture at this store for years and refinished it. The owner does not go out of his way to be helpful, especially when I have bought larger pieces and had to find a way to cram them in my car, but it is nearby and I like to refinish my own furniture. A month ago, I ordered and paid for a dining room table with a credit card, luckily as it turns out. He assured me that it would be delivered in two weeks, because I told him that I needed it in a month. After two weeks went by, I called and he said it did not come in, but would be in on the following Monday. I called each Monday afternoon to see if it arrived and each time I called, I was pleasant to the owner and another man who works there (I think it is his son), though they were rude and impatient with me. Finally, I went and bought a table at another furniture store, because Vigues could not assure me that it would arrive on time. When I went into the store with my husband and told him that we were canceling the order, he said that we could not. I had talked to the credit card company and they assured me that I could cancel the order and get a refund, though the store policy is no refunds. When I told him that, he blew up at me and told me never to shop there again! (Over the years, I had bought several thousand dollars worth of merchandize from him.) The younger man was so rude and aggressive when they finally decided to issue the refund for the failed order that I thought that he was going to hit my husband! We tried to stay calm, get our refund, and get out of there as soon as possible. I was ready to call 911 because the younger man scared me so much. Needless to say, I will not be shopping there again. I cannot believe that the owner has so much business that he was willing to get rid of mine so quickly!
