DI picked her up and was really not happy with the way she looked. I have been going there for a year and a half and the groomers change alot. But this time the groomer that I had didnt know what she was doing. I will not go back very unhappy.

AOur 6-month old Springer Spaniel, Izzy, attends daycare and has been boarded overnight at Bee's Pet Boarding. This experience has been wonderful for our puppy and our family. At 8 weeks old our puppy was and quot;turned downand quot; from other daycare providers given her age and the extra attention she would need. Bee's did not hesitate to take her on! From the start, Bee's staff provided top notch care to our girl. As a young puppy, they kept a close eye on her to make sure she wasn't and quot;bulliedand quot; by the other dogs. As she got older, they provided many opportunities for her to socialize with other dogs, an important part of her puppy development. Izzy loves going to daycare and is picked up at the end of the day a happy, tired pup! Bee's facility is ideal for dogs with both indoor and outdoor spaces to play. The price is extremely reasonable particularly considering the attention that our dog receives from the staff. The hours are flexible and the staff are very accomodating. The owner, Anne, is a very important part of our puppy's life! I would highly recommend Bee's to anyone looking for quality, affordable care for their pets!

CThey told me the dog had kennel cough and they had called my vet and started antibiotics. they took no responsibility for this and did not disclose that they had other dogs with kennel cough. This all bothered me even more than my dog getting kennel cough.

AI have been a happy customer there for nearly 5 years now. I will give two examples of very positive interactions I've had within the past year. When our first child was born, Jill and Gary went out of their way to send our DOG a card in the mail to congratulate him on his new "sibling." The card acknowledged that new babies can be a difficult transition for pets, and it was clear they were thinking about our dog's well-being during that time. I was very touched by this thoughtful gesture and I will never forget it. Another example happened today, actually: I quickly dropped my dog at camp, and headed to work. Shortly after, I was made aware that his vaccination paperwork was out of date. They notified me of the situation and kept him separate from the other dogs until I could pick him up. This showed a great deal of concern not only for my dog's health, but especially for the health of all the other dogs at camp. Instead of just turning a blind eye, they did the right thing and acted completely by the book, keeping him separated until the appropriate paperwork could be provided. He still gots lots of love and walks today by the caring, attentive, and responsible staff. Camp Bow Wow is one of my favorite service providers in Southern Maine--of any kind--including doctors, mechanics, salons, etc. I sincerely encourage potential customers to give them a try! Your dog will love it!

AANOTHER DOG DAYI lost my dog a year ago. I probably had grooming. My dog used to go there once a week for probably 10 years. They also did grooming. As she got older she couldn’t play with the puppies anymore, it was just too much for her, so I stopped taking her for the doggie daycare, but she still went for grooming. The service was good. They did good. Their prices were good. She had not gone for the daycare for 4 years.- Nancy P.

APurple Paw Grooming ShoppeKristen is a very skilled professional whose love of animals is obvious from the moment you walk into her shop. She was very observant regarding my cat's overall health, and gave this relatively new cat owner a few tips regarding grooming and feeding. My cat was in great hands, and I will not hesitate to use her services again. Also, very reasonably priced!- Jessica M.

ASUNTAR'S KENNELSMy husband and I adopted a dog last week. We have been attempting to keep this highly energetic bundle of joy's stress level to a minimum but he needed a bath desperately. We thought it over and decided that we needed to get him acclimated to new places and understand that we will be back to get him. It was also decided that to attempt to give this 55 pound baby a bath in our home might be as stressful on us as it would be for him. Let's use professionals. I checked the websites of many groomers and wasn't overly enthused. We had just had our first veterinary visit the day before and we did not feel any "warm and fuzzes" from the vet. I don't like that. If you are working with animals, you need to show that you love them. We will not be using the vet again and I wanted to ensure that the groomer was going to be a positive experience for one of us, anyhow. I basically interviewed the groomers over the phone. Lucky for me, I reached Nadia, the owner of Suntar's Kennels. Oh my gosh... I felt how positive this place is and her passion for animals over the phone. We spoke for quite a long time about dog adoptions and she made a great statement about dog adoptions. (She also has an adopted family member). I told her about our experience at the dog shelter and how we never intended to go to the shelter on the day that we did. We were going for a car wash! Seriously! We ended up at the Kennebunk Animal Shelter instead - but that is another long story. So we found our "Max" at the shelter and I explained how the dog reacted to us. Nadia said that she believed our animals should come to us. Our fellow came into our lives at the time he was meant to. Our dogs (and cats, etc) will come into our lives and not the other way around. Perhaps I am not explaining this as well as she, but she certainly has a spiritual connection. I felt her passion and knew instantly that I hit on the right place. She made me feel at ease on the phone and I was able to bring Max in the next morning. Nadia was on her day off but we got to meet the staff. My husband was even more stressed out than the dog!! By the time we drove off, he knew that we had made the right choice. The staff met us with smiles and showed immediate interest in our energetic 55 lb. boy. They were curious as to his breed (who knows what that is!) and they are very familiar with shelter dogs personalities. Basically, they showed immediate interest in Max and made him feel at home, too. A couple of hours later, Angela, the groomer called me. (Sorry if I got your name wrong but the entire staff is fantastic!) She informed me that Max did great and he was ready. Angela met me when i arrived and told me about Max's skin condition (dry skin) and offered solutions that might help. She spent time with me and explained the differences of foods, etc. We think his condition has been caused by a lot of stress as he was from Georgia and Paws Across America had transported him here to Maine. Poor baby! Angela was very kind and suggested that we wait before changing his diet as he has been through so much within the last month or so. So we will wait and probably begin him on the diet she suggested. We think a raw diet might just be the answer to get his coat back to normal but we can't rush it. I can guarantee that Max will be returning to Suntar's Kennels for his baths, and whatever else he might need in the future. There is a great mix of staff there and you just feel their love for animals from the first time you meet them.- Susan C.

AYARMOUTH VETERINARY CENTERYarmouth Vets have been the caregivers for all of my pets for the past 20 years. The quality of care has remained extraordinary; their caring for my pets is evident in the way they hold them, pet them, tend to them. You should know that Chubby is terrified of her carrier, riding in the car and is not particularly thrilled with going to the vet. When I arrived with my Chubby Kitty in her carrier, I was quickly met by the receptionist who asked me a variety of questions about Chubby's health and behavior. Within five minutes we were in the examination room and the veterinarian arrived within a minute. She was gentle with her exam as well as thorough. Chubby is not afraid of her, just the environment that contains d-o-g-s does not thrill her. Chubby is 17 years old, a senior citizen in the cat world, so they are doing things right! They also sell food, treats, and gear for cats and those other pets. They also see reptiles and other exotic animals. I would recommend them to you and to my other friends.- Jennifer W.
