  • This is just before he joined Norumbega (which is why I can't yet comment on the office, admin, or staff). The environment was very pleasant. Joe listened carefully to my answers to his questions, and began a gentle but quite deep massage. Sometimes he would tell me something about the muscle group or tissues he was working on, which was useful. Mostly I just enjoyed the relaxing experience. I think he does excellent work -- really knows his stuff, and cares.

  • Practitioner on time, pleasant and session was okay. Office setting, for me wasn't great, but my understanding is that they are moving. It was a 90 minute first visit special so I thought I would try. It ended up being 75 minutes, which was fine. I probably wouldn't go back to the therapist I saw. I have had many massages and this would have been much better if he listened better.

  • I have always had a bad back and bounced around a few massage and chiropractic places. My co-worker told me about Athletes Touch and after finding out how cheap his services were I thought I had nothing to lose. I booked an appointment with Kevin, there are a few others, and I very much enjoyed his services.
He really did a great job of sculpting his technique to my particular problems, which were mostly lower to mid back issues. I have had massages in the past that never really got deep enough into my tissue, but Kevin seemed to know just the right amount of pressure I needed to really loosen me up. He does everything from injury rehab to deep tissue to more spa focused massages. Since my first appointment my fiancand eacute; has gone here and she loves the paraffin wax treatment they offer for her feet and hands.
All in all this is the best place I have found in Maine and I will continue to see him on a regular basis.

  • She’s a wonderful person and a great massage therapist. In addition to being a massage therapist, she’s a good listener, and becomes a therapist as well. She’s very professional, pleasant and warm. She’s also teaches massage. She’s just wonderful and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

  • I like the environment set up in the office - it is all designed to be relaxing from low light levels and muted colors throughout. Service is good both from therapist and office staff - always on time. Massage rooms are comfortable and well-maintained.

  • They are pretty strict about appointment cancelations, they'll make you pay for it. Before Thanksgiving, they usually offer a discount on gift cards. They have great hours for after work. I have had pedicures there, the people who work monday through friday, do a very very good job.

  • Overall, it was not a good experience. I had several sessions with her. I felt uncomfortable with her from day one. She is the only one offering medical massage in the Portland area, so I had no choice but to see her. I would not recommend her services. Keep looking.

  • She is personable and knowledgeable. I feel much better once I have been to her. She practices out of my chiropractor?s office. It?s like an integrated medicine as I also have my counselor there. She and the counselor have the same receptionist. She does hot stone massages which is very good. She does massages from head to toe. She also asks me if there is any particular place where I have a problem so she can help me out with that.

  • It is a wholistic health center. The doctors are all MD's, but they take a more wholistic approach to health care. The only drawback is that they do not take insurance, but I feel it is 100% worth the money. I believe there is a pay scale coordinating with what the problem is and how long the appointment is. They are amazing diagnosticians. They have such a wide range of doctors that can help. If they cannot fix the problem, they can certainly help it. I believe the reason that they are so good at diagnosing problems is because they look at the whole person and not just the problem area. I will definitely continue to go there and would recommend them to others.

  • I did a series of 13 sessions this Spring. I think he is excellent. I have seen physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists over the years, and he is the first person that has been able to give me relief.
