Lawn Treatment reviews in Portland

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They provide the service that they advertise that they would. They come when they say they are going to come and I just think they did a good job. I was very happy with them. I would recommend them. I just signed up with them as a matter of fact for the upcoming season.

  • It's a contract, they come four times over the summer. They do weed prevention, fertilizer and that kind of stuff. I was very disappointed. Our lawn looks like crap. They came when they said they would. It actually got worse over the summer, the drought didn't help, but we had chinch bugs and they did not tell us that we had them and did not treat for them, which you would think you would do if you were a lawn service. So we have huge dead spots in our lawn. When they came to reseed, on the last one, they only used half the seed they were supposed to and we called them back and had to have them come back in and finish it. They did do that, but it was a little disturbing.

  • Provider did a mediocre job on my commercial property. They did most of the stuff in the contract,  but did not do some things. They did just enough to satisfy me, but definitely not a high quality job to justify outrageous price increases. For instance, the contract said that they would weed beds every time they mowed. I was out weeding because it seems like they only did it a couple times in the season. I would have to go out on several occasion to ask them to do it. They said they would spray weed killer that where weeds were growing in the cracks of pavement. They did not do this at all. Weeds were so bad in some cracks, I sprayed my own application. They claim to clean up damage from snow plowing. They did not do this at all. They tore up a large portion of my grass and did nothing to repair it. They also did not repair cement edging they damaged in my parking lot. Moreover they decided to mow the day after a rain on a tiny hill on the side of my property, grass looks awful because it got ripped up during the mow. Also, I was disappointed with the snow plowing. They seemed to plow whenever they felt like it. I got stuck several times because they decided to plow in the afternoon instead of in the morning after a big snow storm. In the contract it says that they shovel the walkway after a snow storm. They do not do this once. I have several shovels at my office and just plan on coming in early to shovel. I personally think that they put priority over large contracts and I was small enough they did not take my contract very seriously. However, I have nothing to substantiate that claim.  I never really complained much because they did just enough and the quality was still average.
The biggest concern is there price increases. I am a business person, so I understand the need to increase prices, especially given our last winter. But trying to almost double fees in 2 years is extremely concerning. The owner claims it is reasonable, but I know enough to know that his response is absurd. I recently got quotes in they were between 1,500-2000 below his. Given that when we confronted him about the increase, he said that the increase was due to the fact he never charged us for snow plowing. I looked through my 2015 contract and he was in fact charging me a little over 1,000. My lot is small. And given that I was getting $700-$900 quotes, his reasoning makes no sense. I usually do not write review like this, but I find this pretty troubling.

  • our lawn was unattended for a while and needed a lot of work. ernie responded within an hour of my phone call and stopped by later that day. he looked over my lawn thoroughly and explained what he would do and was very accommodating and informative. he even stopped by for another visit prior to the appointment to speak with my fiance about her concerns regarding our plants.
on the day of the scheduled yard work, he was punctual and well prepared. he and his wife jen completed an enormous amount of work in a relatively short time. the lawn and surrounding area look amazing. his price is very fair and i highly recommend oddscapes to anyone who needs any type of yard work, especially for those who aren't well versed in lawn care. ernie is very personable and encourages questions and is extremely knowledgeable. my fiance and i couldn't be happier with the results. A++++

  • I have used them for 5 or 6 years.  My lawn looks good.  I had grubs eating it out and they did their grub control and it looks great.  You can't even tell that I have dogs, which is big when you have dogs.  They are friendly, the guy comes and lets me know he's here and he picks up the dog toys.  They do lawn treatments, not mowing.  The do aerating, grub control, check the PH of the soil to see what it needs and complete lawn care without the mowing part.  If you pre-pay there is a discount.  Their prices are fair.

  • All of the work that Nate does in my yard is top notch.  He has never disappointed me with any of his work.  He knows and remembers things I prefer and do no like.

It is a rarity to find a compassionate hard working young man such as Nate to handle all and any jobs you need done.

The name of his company says it all.  Absolute Complete Property Services.

  • Had grub issue on front lawn last year and my regular landscaper does not do lawn treatment. Called Lucas and they applied treatment. They proposed yearly service for fertilizer and I opted for the organic treatment. This year, as a repeat customer, they do have discounts if you sign up early. They just came 2x this week for the organic fertilizer and then the pre-emergent grub application. They are always professional. A number of people this week have complimented me on my lawn.

  • Most of the time it was fine, but there was one occasion when they came to apply pesticide for tick prevention. This was a very bad experience. I was very specific about my needs. I have a compost pile that I wanted him to spray, but he parked his truck too far away and was argumentative about performing the service.

  • How did it go? Phenomenal!

While Lawn Enforcement first serviced our home in July 2011 with a complete yard cleanup, tree removal, tree trimming and unimproved lot clearing, the firm has provided a total lawn service package for the entire summer and fall, mowing, leaf removal, seeding, etc. It is now November 21st and their employees are working non-stop to clear leaves from our yard prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. After receiving several estimates last July from numerous lawn service companies, Lawn Enforcement was by far the most reasonable. Easily 20% below the rest who bid for our business, they were also the most professional. (Note: Prior to us moving to our new Cape Elizabeth home, we hired another well known firm, who removed a tree from our yard for an unbelievable amount of money, plus their truck left huge tire ruts in our yard that they never came back to repair. We paid our bill and went looking for another company. ) Anyway, we were blessed to find Alex, who came to our home, surveyed the work and gave us an estimate that was spot-on-the -money when the bill arrived at our house. He was on time, had the proper personnel and equipment and always finished up earlier than than expected due to the outstanding employees they hire. Satisfied? Totally!

  • What I was worried about was not the problem. The spraying killed 80% of my front lawn. It was a disaster that became apparent around 3 days following the treatment. I complained to the company who had no solution. They did not come to see the damage. I wrote a letter after I received the bill and it was eventually credited. Unfortunately, they continued to solicit me as thought I was a new customer until I finally reached the right person and the solicitations stopped, roughly a year later.
