Internal Medicine reviews in Portland

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They are excellent. My physician I've had for years and years and he is almost like a friend. He specializes in internal medicine. He is very smart and very down to earth and gives you the time. The office environment is beautiful, you get out of your vehicle under cover and there are elevators on all floors.
    - Joan P.
  • For healthcare provider, the largest and I think best in Portland is an outfit called InterMed, it is a multifaceted practice with large numbers of doctors and we have been using them for 27 years and they are absolutely first class and I only know about 4 or 5 of the doctors, but there must be 20 of them or more.
    - Stephen J.
  • They have 9 different places around this area. I have been using them for 8 years. I am actually seeing physician and assistant for most things. But if it is anything complicated then you see the doctor. They are really good on their quality, responsiveness, and office staff to get back to you. Their prices are very reasonable. They are all excellent, totally patient, and incentive to words. If you tell them if you want to come in that day, they will take you.
    - Kathryn H.
  • My wife and I both go to InterMed. It always goes very well with them. It is an organization that is composed of a lot of doctors. There are a lot of specialists in there, a lot of general practitioners. They usually have a full range of doctors.

  • Everything from the parking garage to the elevator to front-desk check-in and check-out was executed at a high level of professionalism. Test results were quickly available and explained fully. Bedside manner was impeccable. This is a world-class medical operation which obviously approaches its practice with a strong emphasis on the patients' perspective and needs.
    - Chet L.
  • I have been seeing Dr. Katz for about 8 years now...to me, there is no one better.
He has a new address now:  Portland Internal Medicine, (Mercy)  Baxter Blvd, Portland, Maine.

  • Portland Gastroenterology Center were fine. The Doctor was good. He had a good bedside manner and he was interested in the case. So he looked at prior reports and he was responsive to questions. He was present, he wasn't just moving you in and out. I will be using him again and I would recommend him.

  • Dr. Fuchs-Ertman is great. She is very pleasant, patient, attentive and knowledgeable. When I had some follow up questions, she took time to call me and spent as much time on the phone as I needed to provide me detailed answers and explanations. After a very negative experience with my past doctor, I was unsure what to expect from a new doctor. However, Dr. Fuchs-Ertman has earned my trust.
It did take a few months to get my initial new patient appointment with Dr. Fuchs-Ertman because these requre a longer block of time and I believe she had/maybe still has a part-time schedule. However, as a regular patient I find I get appointments to see her promptly. I provided the Marginal Way location a B for punctuality because I have waited up to 10 minutes on a couple of occasions. Not a big problem, but thought I'd note it. I do however like the new building, waiting room and exam rooms, and there is always plenty of covered garage parking.
Overall, I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Fuchs-Ertman.

  • Regular checkups are scheduled way out so do call well beforehand. I have always been happy with this practice and continue to see them improving upon already effective/efficient procedures for seeing patients, whether for something routine or unexpected.
I received a reminder phonecall before the appointment and all referral appointments after my check up were made by my doctor's staff immediately following my visit. I really appreciated this. Life gets busy and it's easy to forget to schedule or procrastinate.

  • I had my yearly physical exam with Allison Talon, and have since been to see her about a few other things. I like Martin's Point, they have decent hours and I haven't had to wait too long on the phone to get to talk to a receptionist, like I have at a lot of other doctor's offices. Allison Talon is a good provider. She was very thorough in the physical exam. She listens to what I have to say and to my own input on how I would like my treatment to go and tailors her treatments accordingly. She has great bedside manner.
The only problem I've ever run into is that I have to have two TB tests done for school, and there was a very limited availability for these appointments, so it was difficult to get them both scheduled in the time frame I needed.
