    LR Higgins Inc
Eric Higgins and his team did a masterful job for us. Our rental property in Portland suddenly had a burst hot-water heater on the 3rd floor, meaning water damage at every level of the property. Given that we lived on the other side of the country, this was a recipe for disaster. But it wasn't. Right away, Eric and his team made short work of putting together all the pieces. Eric had plumbers in there to replace the hot water heater ASAP; a restoration crew within hours to start drying everything out; and drywall gurus, hardwood flooring experts, and painters to replace what was ruined. Throughout he was very communicative, both with us as the owners and with our renters who were living in the construction zone. Everyone knew what was happening when and why. In the end, we were braced for an astronomical bill (to the insurance agency, of course), because being so far away and in need of quick support, we weren't about to "shop around" for quotes. But Eric charged us completely reasonable rates. Even my father-in-law, a career construction estimator with GC experience himself, said he couldn't be more impressed with the process. We've now since that house (it's been almost a year since the adventure). But if and when we move back home to Portland, and if we buy another place there, we'll definitely be looking to him to help us be good owners.

    Casa Pro LLC
This was a major kitchen renovation that included bumping out a wall onto an unused porch, changing the front and rear entry into the house, upgrading electrical service, and upgrading plumbing. It evolved into more when we found some pre-existing structural defects, and the vinyl siding replacement was complicated by old damage from carpenter ants. Throughout the length of the project, Nate was responsive to our questions and provided us with options so we could make informed decisions. The entire work crew was trustworthy and as non-intrusive as possible when you consider that we were still living in the house for the duration of the work. Their attention to detail was noteworthy, with the trim above the new kitchen cabinets as a prime example. During our initial consultation, Nate told us that he would not be the cheapest estimate, but he would guarantee that we would be pleased with the quality of Casa Pro's work. He was true to his word, and we are very happy with our newly renovated kitchen. When we receive compliments on the new siding and changes to the front entry from people who noticed the outward changes to our house, we always tell them that it was Casa Pro that did the work. We recommend them.

It went very well. Dave participated early on in the process by offering advice and assuring that what we were planning would work within the structure of our home. Once the project started, Dave and his carpenter crew were on the job daily unless the plumber and electrician needed the space to do their work. There wasn't a day during the project that something wasn't being done to move the remodel along. I would compliment Dave on his attn to detail and the finishe carpentry is outstanding

    Fortin Construction, Inc
We obtained several estimates. Although Fortin was not the cheapest, we felt that they were the best fit for us. We could not have hired a better company. They prepared the plans for what we wanted to do and they obtained all necessary permits. Fortin's estimate included anything and everything that was needed to take this addition from start to finish. It included the excavating, concrete walls, garage pad, framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing, siding, drywall, painting, finishing work and loaming and seeding. Every subcontractor they used was top quality. Every crew that showed up at our house was extremely professional. Fortin's employees work hard and they care about the product they are producing which is evident in the finished product. Fortin has specific crews for specific jobs - framing crew, siding crew, roofing crew, painting crew, finishing guys, etc. Each crew specializes in their specific area. Construction lasted 60 days from breaking ground to completion. It was 60 stress free days. We never had to worry about anything, they took care of everything. The communication was amazing - we always knew when people were coming and what they would be doing. We could not be more pleased with our addition and feel that it was money very well spent. I would not hesitate to call them again for another project and highly recommend them.

    Upright Frameworks
Upright Frameworks originally thought the job would take two men two days to complete. They had a day open up in their schedule and sent five men to do the job.We were flexible with our schedule too, and they managed to get the job done in one day! They worked hard and long and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Our garage is warm in the winter...without an additional heating source.I was impressed with the way they cleaned up before they left.I have already recommended their services to friends.Thank you Upright!

    Home Snuggers
it went well and in a reasonable amount of time.  they provided a pre-and-after energy audit.  they came back afterwards (albeit quite a while afterwards) and did some more work in the attic.  all of this was provided free of charge.
the only thing we weren't previously aware of was the out-gasing from the spray foam.  because the installation was done in June, we did not notice the effects until we closed up the house and started using the furnace in the fall.  we both had quite a few allergy symptoms, my husband's my worse than mine, because of lung and breathing issues.  we started using our air filters, running the bathroom fan all the time and airing out the house more.  the effects are abating now, but it took a month or more.

Quality Home Improvement & Handyman Service
It was a good experience in that I feel I got my money's worth.  Some of the jobs I had on my list were not completed due to reasonable concerns (e.g., putting in a vent fan in the bathroom requires an electrician's license which my contractor didn't have).  So I appreciate that he was honest but I ended up almost not having enough work for him to do!  Luckily, with their help we found plenty of work for them to do.  They did a great job finishing off an insulation job in my attic, patching holes and cracks in my ceiling/walls all over the house and a few other projects around the house.  Bill was great to work with and very accommodating.  Overall, this was a very good experience and I would recommend it.  Just make sure you go over your project list prior to the day of work.

    Upright Building Services
I thought this review was written a while back but just realized it was not there.  They did a great job.  All of the employees were great to work with but one of the most important parts was that the foreman was on the job at some point every day.  He monitored the progress, assured the quality of the work and kept me updated regularly.

    Builders Installed Products - Portland
They were terrific. They were thorough and great. I had no issues at all, they were great, and they did a terrific job. The house had very little insulation, and they did a terrific job in the rest of the house. They had very nice price, and they were very personable. The final room was not terribly expensive. The price of the rest of the house was very reasonable.

    Home Snuggers
They were very polite and responsive. They showed up when scheduled and started on time. They unfortunately ran into a lot of rain, and not only had to split the work between 2 days, but hit rain on both days. Despite the weather, they generally did a good job. There were a number of clapboards that got cracked in the process and though most were replaced, a few were not. After a quick call to Home Snuggers, they apologized and made arrangements to come out and replace anything that was not done initially. Their customer service has been very, very good.
