  • The plumber that Lowe's sent was superb, in fact I took one of his cards for future use. He was here on time, very personable, professional and really knew what he was doing. There was additional work that needed to be done and Eric explained everything to me so clearly and was very reassuring. Further he cleaned every thing up and the disposal works great. I would have him back without question.

  • This is an excellent small business and was very glad I found them on Angie's List. They exceed the big box stores in every way. They have the knowledge and experience that go along with being in business for many years and having employees who cater to this type of work. Their price for the first appliance I was interested in, was by far the best. However, it was out of stock and remained so, but this was not a gimmick. The appliance was just not available, even after he called other dealers. Both times, they recommended an alternative but we wanted to wait. When we finally further researched the alternative and decided to go ahead, his price was slightly higher than others. However, I told him and asked if he could do better, and he did. He matched the price and he also does not charge for take away or installation. The installers were excellent. I was very happy to shop local.

  • We asked for an online quote and Chris Seavey responded quickly. We went in to meet Chris and go over our options. He was very knowledgeable and great to work with. We were glad to do business with a local shop, not a big box. We had four weeks lead time after we placed the order and paid for the appliances to have them delivered to new construction. Chris gave me a call to verify delivery a day before the agreed date. When the appliances showed up the stove was not there? We were not told the stove was on back order, we are disappointed they couldn't deliver with four weeks lead time. When Chris called to verify delivery he didn't mention the stove would not be delivered, stove was delivered the next weekend. There were rebates on some of the appliances, Sevey's submitted them. It's been 6 weeks and the rebates have not arrived.

  • One of the 2 gentlemen who delivered my washer and dryer cut himself. He refused an offer of bandaids/rinsing the wound and left a big smear of blood on my washer. They hooked up the washer and put in on a wash cycle to rinse it out. They failed to secure the hose clamp and it flooded my basement. The Lowe's manager said he couldn't send anyone out until late afternoon to clean it up, so I ended up going to Lowe's myself to get a mop and a bucket. To be fair, he didn't charge me for the mop and bucket, and threw in some zip ties so I could secure the hose myself. He also gave me $50 compensation. When the refrigerator was delivered (separately), they put a big scratch in my wood floor during installation. I don't think I will be buying appliances from Lowe's anymore.

  • The machines were promptly installed 05/26/16 by Dan Walker, his assistant Alex, and another fellow – all very competent and friendly. The layout of my house is such that the only way to get the old appliances out and the new appliances in was via the rear entry. The cellar door had to be taken off because the rear vestibule is very small. Dan did this quickly and easily.

Dan and his team arrived promptly within the 12-2PM window agreed upon at the time of sale. Dan tied back the rear entrance storm door, securing it to the backyard fence with a skillful set of knots that held both open. He quickly took the cellar door off its hinges.

Alex and his coworker quickly took the new washer and dryer off the truck and unboxed them. Then they disappeared into the cellar, emerging onto the back stoop with the old washer gently balanced between them on the wide strap of a joined carrying harness. In a similar fashion they moved the new washer and dryer to the cellar and brought up the old dryer. I was impressed by the careful and considerate way Alex and his teammate worked together to carry the heavy and awkward loads.

The delivery and installation were quick, less than an hour. Dan disconnected the old gas dryer and reconnected the new one. He had informed me that a licensed professional has to do this task. They used the integral self‑adjusting feet of the washer and dryer to level the machines; leveling is important to the proper operation of both machines. At one point Dan had to go to a hardware store to get a part that they didn’t have. He came back promptly. I offered to pay for the part but he refused.

Dan had found a way to fix the cold water faucet – it had been spewing water every time I turned it on, so I kept it off until the wash cycles needed it. I’d shown Dan an iPod video of the problem when we were making the sale. Dan indicated that the fix is sufficient but at some point it might be good to have a plumber replace the turn mechanism. I’ll do that soon as part of a much needed bathroom remodel.

I asked Dan about the PVC standpipe (approximately two feet high) that the old washer was draining into; it feeds into the main soil pipe at the base. He said that he’d tested it and it was sufficient. That was a relief.

Dan showed me the flexible new dryer vent hose that I’d asked for as part of the sale because I’d poked a hole in my old one while attempting to clean lint out of it. The new one was not rigid which surprised me because I’d read that rigid is better, but Dan said this hose was very high quality and expensive, but worth it. He said that he could tell from the lint that remained in the old hose that I’d oversoaped in my old washer. He told me that it was very important to use only one to two teaspoons of soap in my new machine, and only 1 tablespoon of bleach when needed. (I’ve followed his recommendations and they work, the clothes are definitely clean.) Dan showed me how to shake the new hose. He said that will break up any clumps of lint in it and allow the air to vent them outside.

Dan was knowledgeable about both machines. At the end of the installation he gave me a brief tutorial on how to operate both machines optimally. He suggested that I use the automatic dry function to save money and wear and tear on the clothes. He showed me how to properly pull out the lint screen and reinsert it with a horizontal motion. He showed me how to how the Start/Pause button when the lid is locked and I need to put a stray item into the washer. He said that if I hold the button down for three seconds, the washer will drain completely –it will abort the load.

My old washer and dryer had some life in them still, so I told Dan that they would not need to be hauled to the recycling facility. I donated the old dryer to the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I gave the old washer to a friend whose own washer had died; when I went to Downeast Appliance to buy new hoses for her as a gift, Dan generously provided some new hoses gratis.

My new machines are good looking, modern and efficient and will save me money on my water, gas, and electricity bills.

  • I have had appliances delivered to a third floor, and the delivery has always been problem free. In addition to delivering the new appliance, they remove the old appliance. All at a minimal cost. They are responsive to my schedule limitations when making appointments for both repair and delivery.

  • I was pleasantly surprised by the competitive pricing I received from this store as they are not as big as some of the other appliance dealers I dealt with. We contacted Ryan at LPA by e-mail and provided the appliance list that I was seeking pricing for. He not only got back to us quickly, he made sure that he beat all of his competitors to get the sale. The appliances arrived on the date he estimated they would and they were installed just as promptly. In addition, my old appliances were hauled away at no extra cost. He couldn't have made this purchase easier, I never had to leave home to do business with him. I am always in favor of giving my business to the smaller outfit but might hesitate if the expense of doing so is not worthwhile. I highly recommend doing business with LP Appliance. L P Appliance also services most makes and models of appliances so I can continue to do business with them in this manner if needed.

  • I took Tuesday afternoon off and waited for the plumber for a 1:00pm appointment.  I was told an emergency came up and when he was done he would come.  He was unable to finish the emergency before 4:30pm.  I can understand an emergency.  I was rescheduled for Thursday morning at 8:30.  After waiting until 8:40 I called to see when the plumber was coming.  He was on his way.  Once he arrived, he was very pleasant and professional.  He did an excellent job and cleaned up after himself.  You wouldn't know he was there except for the new sink and faucet.  The office woman who scheduled the appointments sounded very sincere about the scheduling problems.  I did have problems getting an estimated price for this project and was not told they did not accept charge cards.

  • While my wife and I knew, for the most part, which appliances we wanted going in, we did get a fair amount of assistance to choose the refrigerator... which was great. Very knowledgeable.
The representative was very responsive and helped perform valid price comparisons with the "big box" stores.  In the end,
Agren's price was as good as what I could find anywhere.
My only area of concern happened at delivery-time when for some reason, the Agren guys pushed back a bit when told which direction to go to get into the kitchen (e.g the back door).  While it got resolved, it was totally unnecessary and gave a slightly bad taste to what was otherwise a very positive experience.
That said, I would definitely use them again.

  • I purchased a condo and had known I would want to start replacing the old appliances one by one in the near future.  The day after moving in I put a load of towels in the stack-able washer/dryer only to discover that yes, the water ran in to the washer, but the tub did not function.  The  repairman took one look and pronounced it 'beyond repair'.  I researched the web for appliances sales/service stores in my new locale in and around the city.  I also researched Gediman's web site as that would have been my first choice if I were living closer to their stores. As my research ensued while the wet towels languished in my bath tub, I realized I was not going to 'get a deal' with the city stores, and was relieved to learn that Gediman's would deliver to my new locale.  I was fortunate to be able to purchase a floor model washer/dryer for immediate delivery.  The stack kit was missing so the washer was installed, with promise of later installation of the dryer.  When the washer was hooked up it appeared the connection 'sprung a leak'.  I immediately called a plumber who came that Saturday afternoon only to discover that it wasn't a leaky valve as suspected, merely a tighter twist of a wrench was needed.  After discussion with the second in charge at the store while the owner was away on vacation, the missing stack kit was purchased and dryer installed. Pete and I discussed what had taken place in his absence, and he immediately apologized and refunded the plumber's bill.  Over the years I had built a home that was furnished with complete set of appliances from Gediman's.  The second home required two replacement appliances and those were purchased from Gediman's as well.  in the meantime, Pete purchased Gediman's and I am pleased to report that he follows their expertise and professionalism as well.  Pete is highly knowledgeable, very helpful, likes his fellow man and it shows. Read his web site, he is who he says he is.. one happy man to be living his dream!  BTW.. these old appliances continued to fall over dead and Pete continued to be my 'go to' man.  He felt badly that my new home had become such a challenge and has treated me well.  I'll return to Gediman's again.. always.  Thank you, Pete.
