  • They do good work for a reasonable price. It took them while to get out here. They got out here exactly when they said they would, we just had to schedule out. We probably are to shortly use them again. The prices were reasonable, actually. We use to use someone else, but his prices are better.

  • Contractor was originally approached in roughly the June 2015 time frame. He was very helpful and patient while refining and defining what projects needed attention. I was upfront with my expectations the whole time. As a do-it-yourselfer myself I did ask a lot of questions and was concerned about the details of how things would be done. He was very good through this process. I even offered to compensate him for his time to which he declined.
I secured financing in August and was clear with him I wanted to be on his schedule as soon as possible. At that time he thought that late September was a possibility. As there were a few details / design choices I had yet to nail down a contract wasn't signed until mid September. This delay is on me. The contract he provided stipulated a start time of "October" and work to be completed in "November". I was a week returning the contract to him which I did third week of September.
When the third week of October rolled around and I hadn't heard from him I left him a couple voice mails and an email asking for a status update. His response was "I got your messages I've been trying to figure my schedule out better now that we're getting closer to winter months. We're a little behind schedule at the moment. I think realistically it's going to be December before we will be able to get started on your project. I apologize hopefully this will work."
I expressed my frustration but was, in general, understanding. I ended my response with "Please, let's just get this work done as soon as possible, when ever that may be, and before snow and freezing temperatures become the daily norm."
I never heard from them again. I decided not to call him since if he didn't want my business then I didn't want to give him my money. I waited expecting him to follow up at some point. He never did.
I eventually heard from his business manager in February 2016 after asking why I never heard back from them.  They seemed to think that since they never heard from me and had apparently expressed my desire to get things done before it got too cold, that I must have found someone else to do the work.
Maybe this is just a misunderstanding. I feel the burden to follow up was on him since his last communication was to say he was working on his winter schedule. I had a contract with them and wouldn't have contracted with someone else while I had the expectation they would do the work.
The bottom line for me is this. I felt the apology I received was insincere. Regardless of any misunderstanding about cold weather they chose to not follow up with a customer with whom they had a signed contract. They chose to drop me from their schedule without any kind of phone call or communication.
I find those actions to be extremely unprofessional.

  • Ron and Ryan Francis are true professionals in every way. They maintain contact with their workers throughout the project and communicate well with the homeowners and they do not sign off on a job unless it is done to what was agreed upon. Their sub-contractors reflected Maine Construction Groups values and work ethic which we can say because we hired one of their sub-contractors after the job was completed and although he was as nice as could be he did not possess the same values as reflected by Maine Construction Group. That was very disappointing but certainly no reflection on The Maine Construction Group. We not only highly recommend this group but we would hire them again in a heartbeat!

  • Maine Construction Group is a Bangor, Maine locally owned family operated business founded by Ryan Francis. Ron Francis, COO of Maine Construction Group and proud father of Ryan, came and gave us an estimate for the work needing to be performed. His response to our initial call was extremely prompt, the estimate reasonable and at all times Ron was a total professional. He answered all of our questions, of which there were many, without hesitation. Every promise made was fulfilled and their work was above reproach. We had a very tight time-line which we made known to Ron. He checked his schedule, gave us an estimate of the time required and when he could fit the job into the schedule. He gave us an estimated completion date along with his cost estimate. We accepted his proposal and work began as scheduled. The crew put in charge of the project were also highly professional and conscientious. They did the extensive remodel without disrupting the surroundings more than necessary and every evening they cleaned up the area before leaving. They worked long days and partial weekends to complete the job as promised. We were very pleased with the results and felt that the price was reasonable. Our greatest satisfaction was in having the job done well and on time. We are pleased to recommend Maine Construction Group for any work within their capabilities. We are planning to have them replace our roof this spring!

Contractor Virtues : Honest, prompt, reliable, reasonable and personable. The entire crew was a pleasure to have in our home. Ron was always just a text or phone call away and he came to the site every day to check on the progress and Ryan also visited to make sure all was well. Any problems were always resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. We would not hesitate using this company for any additional work. In fact, we have just sent them a text requesting their services for a roofing project.

  • I have heard that this firm does good work but apparently our job was too small and he was too busy to start our project after he had agreed to take the job. This has left us without cabinets, without a kitchen, and changing horses in midstream. It is my firm conviction that if you take a job you should be professional enough to call the person and tell them no thanks rather than sending work through our contractor.  I will never do business with a person who cannot live up to their own word.

  • JT Carpentry replaced our roof last autumn and the roof withstood a Maine winter without any problems whatsoever. The work was done quickly, neatly, with all aspects of construction explained before the work was done.  The project was finished at the quoted price with no nasty surprises upon closure of the project.  We are so happy that we are now using JT for our kitchen remodel and all future repairs and remodels.
We also had an area of our exterior rehabed. Rotted wood was replaced, insulated, and the area was resided. It looks great!

  • They are a small company, and they have a personal touch. The go above and beyond. The overall experience is excellent. I can't say enough good things about them. The pricing is good. The quality of work is excellent. They are punctual, responsive, and professional. I will continue to use this provider .

  • She came up and obviously reviewed the property.  She gave us an appraisal.  She listed it, shown it and brought us multiple offers.  Some of which worked out, some eventually worked out and some did not work out, none of her doing like financial or whatever.  I only sold through her,  I did not purchase through her and the cost for it was just the standard commission.  The big thing about her is that if you call she will call you right back.  Her friendliness, her demeanor, she was up front and she would tell you and her honesty probably is the biggest thing, that was something we were looking for in a Realtor.  I will use her again.

  • I spent about $600 on the job. I do not have any dislikes about him. He appears to be honest. He appears to do more than what he is asked to do. He has always been there for me in an emergency. His price is normal; it is average just as everywhere else. I will use them again in the future.

  • I have used their services for almost a year.  The results are not consistent.  The same group does not show up each time, so I have to explain again what products to use where and what not to use.  Each of the team members that came last Friday had  been to my house before, but not the one who remembers what to do.  I had not been called before they arrived, and I had already made plans to be out of the house while they cleaned.  Before I left, I asked if everyone knew which products to use where.  They said they did.  When I returned home, I found streaks on the dining room table and a nightstand that I can not remove.  I am assuming someone used the wrong cleaner.  I will be cancelling their service, and I am now looking for a different cleaning team.
