Used existing frames to have 2 pair of distance glasses and one pair of sunglasses lenses upgraded to new prescription. My husband had a new pair of glasses made (check out the frames on sale - he got a $200+ frame for $60), and he got perscription sunglass lenses inserted into existing frames he had. The staff there is very knowledgable in fitting glasses and understanding the perscriptions themselves. Great selection of frames - to fit most budgets. The technician we had, Karen, was most pleasant and agreeable, and it is a place I would return to. Good quality, and quick turnaround time. Price paid shown below is for 4 sets of lenses lenses 1 complete pair of glasses (frames and lenses).

    Dr. Peter Hall, OD
Dr. Hall knows his profession -- very professional and he puts one at complete ease. After my exam, and after he received my eye records from my previous optometrist, he called to have me schedule a follow-up exam to monitor possible glaucoma. He asks great questions about my eyes and clearly knows all about eye care and treatments. He does not sell eye glasses but you take your prescription to whatever vendor you choose. His office takes insurance and I am waiting to see what I will owe for this appointment.

    Thees, Dr. Matthew
Dr. Thees performed my eye exam after receiving a briefing from the associate who provided the preliminary exam and listened carefully to my concerns.  Dr. Thees arrived ready to address them.  Dr. Thees took the time to hear me out about my concerns about my own eyes and another family member who needs more specialized eye care.  He addressed all these concerns in a very professional and caring way.  His exam was thorough and pleasant (I am in my 70's and eye exams can be a little stressful.). Dr. Thees discovered that prior eye prescription allowed one eye to do most of the work.  He developed a prescription that balanced the work of the eyes a little more.  The eye health issues were identified and discussed in a helpful and non-threatening or anxiety producing way.  Dr. Thees provided the prescription and encouraged me to shop around for eye glass providers. Overall the whole experience was great and I am recommending Dr. Thees to my family members.

The whole exam experience was great!  The check in process was flawless.  The initial exam was performed by a very professional associate with whom it was easy to talk and share my concerns about my own and my family members situation.  She briefed the Dr. Thees who arrived ready to discuss my concerns and took the time needed to help me work through them.  His exam was thorough but pleasant.  He turned up the fact that my prior prescription allowed one eye to do most of the work and he worked to balance the prescription.  He pointed out eye health issues in a straight forward way that, while instructive, did not induce anxiety.  Dr Thees was open to my using any competent provider for the glasses- not just the in-house provider.  I like Dr. Thees and have recommended him to other family members. I visited the in -house optician after the appointment and found him to be very helpful.  He developed a cost for a set of glasses using the new prescription and was very tolerant of the involvement of other family members in choosing frames.  His stock of frames is limited and I'll be checking other providers.

    Casco Bay Eyecare
Every visit here is great. I moved an hour away, tried another optometrist, and went back to Casco Bay Eyecare. I've been seeing Dr. Anastasio since middle school, and I've already brought my two oldest in for InfanSEE appointments.

    Central Maine Eye Care
He is very good at explaining what's going to happen. Because of the nature of the exam he is very gentle with various aspects of an eye exam. In that respect I think he is very good. He has a good professional approach to eye care. He is very good at communicating what he is going to be doing. He is a very gentle person as he works around the eye and so are his non-physician technicians. He is very careful. I like that fact. They've had a little problem with their scheduling software. They've got a new system there, so we've had some glitches. They're trying to work through them. It can get a little hectic there. They do have a number of practitioners and that office is pretty crowded at times and so the usual jostle and things like that. Once you get in the office into the waiting room, it sometimes can take a little bit more time. It could be 20 minutes to half hour wait.

It went as expected. I was taken to the exam room on time, given the preliminary tests by a technician and then after a bery short wait, Dr. Roush came in for the exam. He was very friendly and took his time with me and explained the results of my eye scans so I was satisfied. There was no pressure to buy glasses from them, he mentioned some options, but left it up to me. I was also able to schedule an appointment in good time, overall, I was very satisfied with my experience there.

    Banglmaier, Dr. Robert W.
I am pleased that he doesn?t always suggest a new set of glasses. I also like that when I get new glasses he gives me a follow-up appointment to check how I am adjusting. I will continue using this doctor for my eye care.
