They were the only provider who offered a land line for phone and internet connection. The guy who came to install our equipment was so knowledgeable and professional. He was so nice and friendly it didn't take him long to set up everything. He made the installation as simple as possible. And I will continue to use them again in the future.

I have been with them for a long time because they took over from the original one that was in. I have been in this home for ten years and I have been with them all the way. They are really the phone carrier in this area. I have not had any problems with their services but maybe some people have but I don't know. When I call, they make an appointment and they are here. I would like to grade them highly right down through because I have never had any trouble.

I have been using them for about 20 years.  They are usually very good about responding to their customers.  I have not had any problem with them.  Their prices are way too high.

Their quality of service is pretty good, their reception is very good and their responsiveness is not bad. My overall experience with them was great but their pricing is very expensive. There has to be something where they can lower their pricing.

Time Warner Cable - Portland are pretty good. I am able to get my internet service when I need to. If I have a problem, I call them up and we trouble shoot on the phone. They told me what to do the next time my cable goes out. Time Warner is the only provider in this area, besides satellite service.

Somehow charges are mysteriously created on my bill and it took 30 minutes to get any type of resolution. I looked on my bill and it says that I was charged for 3 way calling in no one in my household knows how to use this service. It was an early morning call from Nov 20th and they charged me .75 per minute. On the back of the bill there is a number to call with billing questions. There was not a human being on the line and I was put on hold before speaking with automation. After 10 minutes I hung up and called back, this time reaching a live human being. I explained my story and she said she would have to transfer me to customer service. I was on hold for 10 minutes before speaking to a woman. I told her about my situation and she was not helpful before hanging up on me. Called back another time and it was the customer care adn service center. I spoke to a woman named Michelle, explained the situation and she said that someone had used 3 way calling from my house. I told her that this wasn't possible. I asked her to review the number that was supposedly called and she told me this information could not be reviewed. Then she told me I had dialed the wrong number. I gave her the number on the bill and she said that the number did not belong to Fairpoint. I asked why it was on the bill and she was very short and said," Well I've taken care of you so there is nothing to worry about" and disconnected. So I found another number and called another customer service line and the woman I spoke to on this call was very rude and said that they had no record of my other previous calls. She told me that 3 way is part of my additional services. I told her I didn't use and have never used this service. She said that she could block the 3-way calling but I wanted to also have the .75 returned. She said she would produce the refund this one time and I finally was able to get the issue resolved. She also admitted that during the entire tenure of my service 3-way calling has never been used. So after a half hour, extreme aggravation the result has come down to the number on the back of their bill does not actually go to their customer service. They create charges, have doubled my bill in the past and I strongly suggest that other people avoid using them. The only reason I use Fairpoint is because of where I live and the fact that I have to keep in touch with some elder relatives who all have landlines. I want to alert people not to do business with them because they are having issues with their customer service. If you absolutely have to deal with them I suggest that you always go over your billing to make sure no fraudulent charges have been made and then to ask to speak with a supervisor if you have problems because it is the only way to get answers.

When I called to see if I could get a credit for this the operator said I could not.  I asked to speak to their customer service person and they said they would not help me.  I asked for a street address and they would not give this to me, nor a PO box.

    Time Warner Cable - Portland
I had been a customer for about 10 years and dealt with the local Time Warner Cable staff when needed. They were always great, friendly, and the service was dependable. I know that is was more expensive but, I chose to spent more for the service. Since 2012 the calls and customer service get routed to a national and quot;helpand quot; desk. One day, I was on hold for 3 hours. When I did finally speak to someone about my account, they had no solution for me. I was transferred several times. Since I was moving my office from my home into an office space I asked if I could have my home account downgraded to residential. The answer was no. They said they would have to have a service person come to my house and disconnect my service and then have another service person come and connect it again. (2 separate fees.) Why, I asked. The answer: business class service and residential are 2 separate companies. FYI -- when I upgraded to business class originally, they didn't come to install anything. They just flipped a switch remotely and started charging me more. This is only one example....I have several. I now do everything possible to avoid Time Warner Cable.
