I have been going to this chiropractor for about 10 years, thanks to the suggestion of a massage therapist who alerted me to the newly introduced mechanism called a Pro-Adjuster, whereby chiropractic manipulations are made with a type of piezo like tapping machine that taps, registers resistance, and continues to tap until the resistance registers as having been cleared. There are only two such mechanisms in the Bangor area, and I don't understand why ALL chiropractprs don't use this, instead of the old adjustments that they are originallly trained in. The uniqueness of this particular chiropractor is that she uses the machine in a manner that requires very sound knowledge of the anatomy of the muscles and fascia of the body, which she follows throughout as she uses the machine to make a completely painless, and indeed, very pleasant, adjustment. She also adjusts in the regular way if required, as well as uses Typaldos type manipulations to effect 24 hour cures of sprains, and the like. This woman has cured my original complaint of tingling right arm and occasional numbness in my right hand due to overstrain from years of oil painting. She took care of it by working with this arm for about 7 sessions with the Pro Adjuster, and it has never come back. (This kind of stress issue often is diagnosed as pinched nerves in the shoulder and neck, often resulting in surgery.) She also treats me for chronic neck pain, due to tension held in the neck muscles, and without her help, I would be in serious pain. Now it is virtually gone. She has adjusted me for a sprained ankle, from turning it badly while walking.). She has improved my posture considerably, and also instructed me in physical therapy type movements to counteract that bad posture. She occasionally just gives me a "tune up" to be sure the spine is straight and behaving correctly. I have gone to a number of chiropractors over my many years of life, and this is the first one who actually cured me, and the only one who adjusted me without shocking my body by forceful twists, pulls, tugs, and pushes. It is a very gentle system, and it works. However, I think in large measure it works because this person uses it throughout the body;s musculature, as opposed to just the spine, and of course, no one knows how much of her healing may be due to her pleasant, knowledgeable, confident and clear manner.

I have chronic neck issues from multiple instances of whiplash, as well as, additional past lower back & knee injuries from an active lifestyle (skiing, biking, windsurfing, etc). Dr. Aleta Jenkins provides deep tissue massage, both manually & mechanically, prior to manipulation of spine & neck. Quite frankly, she's the best Chiropractor that I have come across in my 35+ years using Chiropractors all over the US!

Her service was excellent and I would rate it highly across the board because I didn't think that I wouldn't be there.

Everything is great; all staff are friendly and helpful, and Dr. Rich is concerned and will seek out answers to any questions to help his patients.  My back and shoulders improved greatly.

    Slade, Dr. Kimberly A.
Dr Slade has a great approach.  She is not the average chiropractor.  She fixes you and you will not need to go there again.  She is a very good diagnostician. She is a good jugular and she is able to do some significant manipulation.  I will continue to use her in the future.

    White, Dr. Wayne W.
It was a pleasure to call the office and, as a new patient, get in within 24 hours. There was no waiting to see the doctor once we got there and the staff was very pleasant. After weeks of pain, my husband came out of his first visit with a smile! He was very impressed with Dr. White's concern and manner and that first manipulation gave him hope that he could start feeling better. It took about four more visits to get things aligned, but Dr. White explained everything and never ordered unnecessary tests. Now that he's pain-free, my husband is doing his daily back exercises given to him by Dr. White and will definitely go back to him if his back problem flares up again.

It went quite well, although I had to stop receiving services, because my health insurance did not cover this office, it was considered out of network and I should have used an in network provider. They are advanced in alternative health and healing, though and I would recommend them to anyone interesting in preventive health, chiropractic care and more.

I didn't like them very much at all. They are much more focused on the notion that chiropractors can cure anything, which I don't agree with. They also think that all problems, no matter where you feel pain, are all caused by the upper back. It is very organized, it is just the treatment that isn't very good.

So far, I was out $349 and hadn't received any treatment and left the first appointment with both a very painful back and now no money in my pocket. The receptionist scheduled me for another appointment where the chiropractor would discuss my X-rays and provide treatment. He spent about 15 minutes going over the X-rays and told me they were the worst he'd ever seen and I needed treatment. Then, he had me wait on a chiropractic device in a large treatment room with multiple chiropractic tables. Another 15 minutes went by and I noticed patients showing up until many of the benches were occupied with patients. Then, he began at one end of the room and spent perhaps three minutes per patient. By this time, the awkward position of my head and neck on the "bench" was adding considerably to the pain in my neck and lower back. Eventually, he worked his way up to me and did a couple of minor tugs on my legs but nothing that I associated with chiropractic manipulation. So, I had been there at least 40 minutes and received maybe 3 minutes of light touch and my pain level was now high enough I felt like simply leaving. Total actual treatment time may have been 5 to 6 minutes. Total relief of symptoms, zero. When I finally got out of there the receptionist billed me another $70. Assembly line chiropractic is as close to medical fraud as it gets. NOT RECOMMENDED!
