  • I arrived at the house and Bill was already there early on the roof.  His assistant was uncovering the septic and preparing to run a camera.  After Bill was done on the roof, he walked me around the outside of the home and pointed out issues and offered helpful suggestions (sort of a honey-do list for once I move in).  He changed his shoes and we went inside, where he thoroughly combed through the home and even had equipment to check for heat and moisture.  As he meticulously went through the place, he offered explanations, and even suggestions for products to use for upkeep.  I was provided a detailed report via email and mailed a binder a few days later.  Thanks to Bill, we discovered a sag in our septic line that could have future consequences for potential backups.

  • During the pre-purchase inspection of our new home, we conducted a radon test which came back with a level slightly over 5. Given that the recommended remediation level by the state is 4, we decided to implement a remediation system and solicited several estimates from both local providers and a few that were further away. In spite of being advised by both our inspector and realtor that we might reasonably expect to spend approximately $1K for a remediation system, estimates that came in ranged as high as $1800. One local provider's initial response to an email inquiry, in fact, was $1500. Steve came out for an estimate, arriving on time - which was appreciated, as many of the other contractors have not been. His assessment was professional and thorough, and he took the time to both ask detailed questions about the house's construction as well as detail the options we had for placing the system and its exhaust components. His estimate for the work was $1095, significantly lower than our other options.
Based on his conduct and the price, we selected him to perform the work. Once again, he arrived on time, got right to work and in a few short hours the system was online. He explained the functioning of the system in detail, listed the gauges to check performance and gave an idea of the estimated lifespan for the components with moving parts. The work was performed for the amount estimated, no haggling over overruns needed.
He also left a prepaid radon test kit with instructions for its use. After waiting the allotted period to allow the system to work, we conducted the test. The results subsequently came back as passed; our radon level has gone from over 5 to less than 0.4, well under the recommended remediation level by the state.
In short, we were quite pleased with both his conduct and the system he installed. I would recommend him for radon remediation work without hesitation.

  • Dan performed air testing for Radon, and water testing for a wide variety of possible contaminants as part of pre-purchase building inspection. Responsiveness was fabulous, results were quick and very easy to understand, including very clear information on what the various EPA limits are for each item. The realtor said he's the best provider of this service he's ever seen, and he's been in the business for at least 10 years.

  • They were very honest and offered me a couple of different ways to get rid of the radon. He was punctual and willing to work around my schedule.
