House Painting reviews in Falmouth

    Reliable Pro Painting
On March 19, 2015, we entered into an agreement in which John Richards of Home Developers/Reliable Pro Painting agreed to install cedar shake siding on our house and garage and then spray it the color of our choice in exchange for a total payment of $58,850.00 (the "Agreement").

Section 3 of the Agreement estimated in good faith that the work would be substantially complete by April 7, 2015. As of July 14, 2015, the work is not substantially complete and we have finally nullified the Agreement.

In lieu of a deposit, we purchased the siding materials directly from Hancock Lumber, at a total cost of $28,351.59. John Richards

received a progress payment of $19,000.00 on April 3, 2015. He received a second (and unscheduled) progress payment of $8,000.00 on April 16, 2015. According to the original quote of $58,850.00, $3,498.41 was left to be paid upon completion of the job.

John's crew walked off the job in mid-April, with no explanation. We later found out, when the foreman knocked on our door, that his crew quit all of their jobs through John Richards because he wrote them a bad check.

John insisted for three months following this incident that he would send a different crew to our house to finish siding the remaining dormer and paint the house and garage. On July 2, after months of constantly trying to get in touch with him, I told him that we were done and that he could consider himself fired.

A serious contractor whose crew quit would come over and finish the job himself. Instead, my husband finished the siding and we are going to be left with a house that is not the color we wanted.

Save yourself the money, time, and grief and DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.

    CertaPro Painters of Southern ME
CertaPro provided the estimate on Friday and completed the work on Sunday. The crew was very professional and fast. They cleaned up well. Lowest estimate and fastest availability to do the work.

    Marshall Home Pros

Devin Marshall and his assistant were punctual, on time, and spent an entire week at our house caulking and painting in order to prepare our house for sale. Marshall Home Pros does construction as well, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them in the future.

The job went extremely well from prep to finish. I highly recommend Jev for whatever job you have. He is great to work with. I really appreciate his straight forwardness and honesty. His crew was also enjoyable to have working around the house and used their time very efficiently and affectively. Definitely the best paint job I have paid for!

    Clarke Painting, Inc.
It was an excellent experience. They were not the cheapest but they delivered exactly what they promised and the work was great at the end. It was exactly what we agreed to. There was no bickering over what was included or not. It was really a good experience.

Brian worked with us for about 12 months on scheduling the project as we had significant exterior repairs to porches and trim due to winter damage. He assisted us on paint selection (many different shades) and ultimately we choose a slighly darker shade than was currently on the home. Brian's attention to detail was evident on the finished product. The pallette of Grey is crisp against the bright white trim, and the moldings and bead board ceilings of the porches appear to jump out in detail. Brian was willing to work around repair projects and move on to other areas of the home, while repairs to trim occurred. Some sections of the home were beyond the reach of ladders and Brian rented a Boom Lift to assist with these higher areas. The work took 3-4 weeks, which was a bit longer than some of the quotes we received from larger companies; however, Brian's attention to detail and willingness to work with us on our schedule were welcomed. We would reccomend him to anyone looking for a good value, and great attention to detail.

Mr. Smith spent about an hour walking around the house to assess the job and even took pictures.  He said he would email me the estimate at the beginning of the next week (Sept. 15th).  I never heard from him again in spite of leaving him a phone message and emailing him at the end of the week of Sept. 22nd.  It is now Oct. 6th.  While he was quite pleasant when here and had been responsive about setting up our initial meeting, I have been quite surprised that he never got back to me.

Basically things went well.  When we had questions or concerns, they were addressed promptly. All the painters were pleasant and professional.  I reserved my review until a year passed  because the quality of a paint job cannot be analyzed immediately.  We did have to call Clarke back after a year for some touch-up work.  They responded promptly and took care of the areas of concern.

Jev's crew arrived around 9am, Monday morning and directly went to work. Due to two days lost to rain, they finished at noon on Saturday, 8/16. Jev is extremely enjoyable to work with. He definitely is very conscientious and ethical individual who expects the same from his employees and it is very obvious. I will be using Maine House Again soon for another project.

    R.I. Randall & Sons
After 8 months we are seeing cracks at several locations. The drywall is tearing apart at multiple locations. We have tried contacting him several times but the owner Mr. Roger  Randall is very arrogant and rude. He not only refused to come and instead demanded us to provide photographs and contact numbers of people whom we have shown these cracks.  We provided him all the photographs and even contact number of our neighborhood friend who has construction experience but he refused to even come and look at the issue. Instead he has been making arguments that the cracks are normal part of new construction.
We will never recommend this sub contractor to anyone in future. It is very unfortunate that we have such people in Industry.
