    BUCKSPORT VETERINARY HOSPITAL
After being turned away by our established vet (told i could drop him and leave him and they would get to him OR I could schedule a 4 pm euthanasia. It was noon. My dogs eye was on the kitchen floor. The staff here took us right in and were very accommodating, helpful and understanding, and I very much appreciated their help. Hoping to switch all of our pets to this facility in the future. Thank you for caring!!

    RIDGE RUNNER VETERINARY SVC
Unfortunately, not well. This is our "established" vet, and I had an emergency with my doxie who had accidentally torn his eye out....when I called very upset looking for assistance I was told I could "drop him off and they would get to him - ????? " OR, I could schedule a euthanasia for 4 pm. It was noon. My dogs eye was laying on the kitchen floor. They obviously did NOT care about my dog and I was forced to find someone who WOULD help us. Very disappointing. I have had similar experiences here in the past, though not to this extent...and the prices are much higher than locally priced vets. SHAME ON YOU! Never again.

The vets always have time to explain everything in detail. They are extremely thorough and take time to answer any and all of our questions.

    CARDEN KENNELS INC
The dog was calm after the service and was given a nice treat. They were welcoming, and asked for his name. They trimmed his nails without any problems. They genuinely seem to like and enjoy the animals. The service is very professional.

    Veazie Veterinary Clinic
We've had two dogs that we take to Veazie Veterinary Clinic. All of the staff are very professional and compassionate, caring to both animals and the people who love them. Our last dog Boo had a chronic condition and Dr. Keene helped us keep Boo happy and as healthy as possible for 18 months, through many visits and extremely helpful email correspondance. Dr. Keene, Dr, Cloutier, all of the vet techs and staff could not be more helpful and kind. I recommend them VERY highly.

    Bangor Veterinary Hospital
Our dog had been limping for 2 days, and since it was a holiday weekend, our regular vet was not available. However, we called Bangor Vet. Hospital and they were able to squeeze us in. Dr. Olson diagnosed our dog's problem as a torn cruciate ligament, and gave us recommendations on doctors who perform this surgery (their office doesn't). She and I ended up sitting on the floor with our dog, discussing his general health, and ways to improve it. She treated our dog with care and respect and was truly concerned with his well being. We found her extremely personable and down-to-earth. She also provided excellent information about the best way to feed our dog so he could lose some weight and she provided details on supplements that would help his arthritis. Incredibly, she suggested shopping around for the best prices for these supplements and other medications and was not trying to sell us their products. She gave us prescriptions that we could take with us and use for an online medication company if needed (some vets will not do this). The prices for these items at Bangor Veterinary Hospital were, however, lower than at most vets, and the difference was shocking! We will be switching our other pets to BVH in the near future, that's how pleased we were with the overall service and feel of the place!

    Brewer Veterinary Clinic
My dog is fine now. He had to go to the emergency vet and the regular vet. They are just very honest and upfront. They think about the cost and try to be creative if they can to cut off.

    Full Circle Holistic Veterinary Clinic
On our last visit, we had seen him the week prior for our older golden who was showing signs of illness. He gave her a good exam, was very concerned, and was not invasive with her at all. Gave us some medication for her cough and some immune boosters to take and that was it. That cost about $95, which is pretty standard, actually less expensive than the other vets. When she became worse, he took us in the next week. We had done some research and suspected lung tumor, which he confirmed, and said he had suspected it the week before, but had hope to buy her some time with the medication. He said we could go to another vet and go through all the tests, but after reading about this cancer, we opted to put her down when it was time. He provided us with the name of a vet who came to our home a few days later to send our beloved dog to heaven, so we are thankful for that referral (will write about her in another post here on AL). Our last visit cost us $4 because he gave us 3 cans of a very nutrient packed dog food to try to get her to eat, and did not charge for the visit, as he said and quot;I didn't do anythingand quot; but we did take up his time. All in all, he is a very compassionate and empathetic vet, small office and returns calls promptly.

    Oceanside Animal Hospital
They have been top-notch since they opened in January of this year. They are friendly. The cost is very comparable. The expertise of the doctor is fantastic. I have never taken my animals to a vet like that.
