House Painting reviews in Brunswick

The job was done a lot faster than I expected and with very little impact.  I've known Brian for years and worked with him on other jobs, so I knew to call him.  I have been getting compliments from neighbors and even my local legislator on how the house looks, and how much better it looks now than before.

The only things that I would have liked done were beyond my budget at that point.  What was done still went beyond some of my expectations.  I think if I had a bigger budget, I would have asked for a few extra things to be included with the job, but our money was limited.  Brian was conscious of working within my budget and was receptive to leaving materials so that I could, for example, paint the back of the garage myself.  He left me a sheet of plywood that was leftover, which I used for another project.

Additionally, while I offered a key to my house so they could get in during the day while we were at work, I did not see any sign that they actually went in, which should make any homeowner feel good.  If they went in during the day, they cleaned up after themselves perfectly.

Brian has painted other houses in my neighborhood too, and they all look very nice and professionally done.

If I needed other painting done, either interior or exterior, I would call Brian to do the work.

    Marshall Home Pros
Provider first promised a date in early September, so we removed everything in the area in preparation. Provider did not show up and did not contact me. I tried to reach them for about a week. Finally they gave us a another date several weeks later. No one arrived that day. The next day a painter came mid-day and stayed less than two hours; one of the men spent most of his time holding the ladder for the second man. They were not from Marshall Home Pros but were subcontractors brought in because Marshall was too busy. They appeared to be guest workers. Work progressed slowly until we made private arrangements for them to spend extra time to complete the job. At that point four painters showed up and did a good, thorough job. I have no fault with the men who actually did the painting, but Marshall Home Pros were not pros in customer relations. And I cannot speak to the job Marshall would have done, since they never showed up nor communicated with us.

Ed was so meticulous and conscientious and came through with flying colors with all that I needed, and more.
I hired him to caulk all my windows, paint the trim on my multi-dormered house, and paint/save my porches.
I had wondered if my porches needed replacement instead of just paint. They were so hurt by last winter's frost heaves. He figured out a way to save their integrity and bolstered their footprints so that they are beautiful!
The trim job is wonderful. The house was new-construction when I bought it in 2010 and it now looks better than new!  Ed also did some major work building footings for a side porch that was so important to me.
Ed also pointed out potential problems, as he discovered them, so that I would be aware of things to look for with respect to any infrastructural issues.  I was so thankful for his input!
One of the best experiences I have had since settling in Maine. Thank you, Ed Goodfriend.

Lee and his crew were great.  They completed the job efficiently and stayed in touch with us on the progress.  There were no surprises in the end.  We knew that there was going to be some damage since the building had not been painted and repaired for quite a few years.  The course of action that Lee recommended was to replace the rotting wood instead of repairing it which would have taken longer and would have been more costly.  They did an awesome job and the building looks excellent.  We will use them again in the future.

Painting started and finished on schedule. Excellent, neat job. Paid lots of attention to details. Completed minor touch-ups and punch list without delay. Curtis was great to work with and gave us many great suggestions.

Outstanding! My first measurement of a contractor is arriving at the appointed time. Especially to provide an estimate for the job. The company's rep arrived early but parked at the end of the street to ensure he was on time. The rest of the job went just as smooth.  The paint crew arrived on time and kept me informed of their progress. Outstanding job!

Excellent crew performed the work - diligent workers, professional and friendly.  Gladly answered all questions asked by me - gave advice on painting lower half of house.  Cleaned up after each day of work - at completion of job everything left neat and clean.
    Would definitely recommend.

The estimate never came. While I waited for his estimate to make a comparison with one I had received the same day, I lost out on having this painting job done this summer or fall by anyone.  Everyone with a decent repuration was booked up.  I never heard from him again, even after emailing him with a reminder after 10 days past.

Allan and Brian were recommended by a friend; we called Brian, set up an appointment in the fall. He came out and gave us an estimate.  Because it was getting into late fall, they came out and cleaned and painted one side as we were having some other siding worked on. They called us in the spring, set up an appt to come out to let us know they would be out again in June after it stopped raining.  Allan and Brian came out as promised, brought along another couple of guys and did the work.  They were very hard working, courteous, did an excellent job - we have a salt box converted to a colonial with full dormer in back and a daylight basement.
The price was reasonable. They were easy to work with and we are very, very happy with the job.  We'd hire them again.

Brian was very thorough and was timely.  He was neat and available for the small extras that occur inevitably on jobs like these.  He prepared and painted all of the interior of a 3200 square-foot home.  Excellent job.  Very thorough and painstaking.
