They said the work would be done on Friday, 8/1, and that we would lose access to the Internet for up to 24 hours, and maybe for the phone for a short while. That happened, but Saturday morning we still had no Internet. I called, with not a lot of hope that I could get it up & running on a Saturday. It was a problem with an old Verizon modem, I read him numbers, he told me numbers to type in, restart the modem & voila! Immediate results, friendly guy. On a Saturday.

I will be switching my cable services to them as soon as I can get out of my contract. We've had them for a long time, but when the whole HD came along they were behind and weren't ready, so we switched to satellite at that point. We kind of left it there, but with my divorce I had to re-look at everything and couldn't get out of this other contract. They have good customer service and are very punctual. As far as a local provider in my area FairPoint is really good if you can get them. We've been with them in one form or fashion for like 12 or 13 years. They were really cool because when we were getting started out here they were really proactive. They canvassed the neighborhoods and had a really cool package. They would literally run cable through the country if they could get enough people in the neighborhood to sign up at the same time. They've continued to try to provide that kind of customer service. Their name has changed over the years because they keep getting bought out. We're now to the point where FairPoint has bought everything, so it is a big thing. I think their price is reasonable. They offer cable and their bundle package is pretty good and is actually cheaper than any of the rest of it. You could bundle with 15 mg of broadband and cable for about $120.

They are always helpful when I call and can usually fix things. If not over the phone, the tech comes and fixes things outside.

Recently moved to the northern woods in Maine and needed Internet Service. Our previous carrier did not service this far north so we were worried any service would be risky. We had closed on the house however were still traveling back and forth slowly moving in. On one of those day trips, while on the road we received a call from the tech covering our area. He stated that he was scheduled to come 4 days later however was near by and able to hook up our modem if we'd like the services earlier. He had installed the actual cable in our new home and stated that he knew it was up to date. We shared that we were away for the day and asked if he could leave the modem and we would hook it up. He gave us contact #'s to call in the event we ran into problems. We were so pleased. We got our internet almost a week ahead of schedule and knew who to call directly if we needed assistance. Great service from the initial phone call requesting info and rates. So glad we went with Fairpoint Communications.

We do not have a choice, they put a contract with the development here. There is no competition. All the prices are too high. The quality is pretty good. They show up every time.

Generally good; reliable. Get knocked offline from time to time but satisfactory most of the time.

I am satisfied with the services I am receiving currently but they were horrible to come in.  I would only continue to use them because their prices are better.

I have had them for about six months. I dislike the service and we don’t have any choice up here. They are a very disorganized, frustrating company to work with.

The line was so long that it extended out of the office and into the parking lot. They had three people at the desk but only one of them were servicing the people waiting in line. I have no idea what the other two people were doing but they seemed too preoccupied to bother with the growing number of people in the line. They could not have cared less. My daughter and I waited for over an hour just to get into the building. We were lucky that we did. When the official closing time for the office came, one of the workers closed & locked the office doors leaving a good number of people outside. The only serviced the people who had made into the building by "closing time". When "closing time" came, the two people that seemed to be doing nothing left the one person serving the line of customers to finish up.  This experience left me with a most horrible impression of Time Warner Cable. They have a monopoly in our town so there is NO other choice available. If there was I would use ANY other service.
