    Mike Lilli, our contractor, was a perfectionist. He was professional, timely, and knowledgeable. Mike is a true craftsman, and he is committed to his job. He is a very experienced installer. We couldn't have been luckier to work with him. Kudos also go to the Kitchen Savers office staff - Carol who kept us in the loop with every appointment and John - who checked in regularly to make sure we were pleased with the final product. We are only sorry that we put off refacing our kitchen cabinets. I would hire this company again and would recommend their services to others.

    From proposal to job completion, dealing with Kargman's was awful.  They were completely disorganized, ran 4 days over the estimated 5 day completion time, and were dishonest about the work performed.
    The biggest issue we had with Kargman's was that there was no one on site running the job.  Erin ran the job from the office without ever seeing the basement.  When she needed more information, she asked Jim who had barely looked at things when he came out for the estimate.  
    Some of the specific problems we had were:
        1. Kargman's was supposed to replace the bathroom vanity that was damaged by the flood.  When the carpenter went to install the vanity we had picked out, there were some issues with the pipes lining up.  Since this was an unexpected problem, Jim said they would just charge us Time & Materials at a carpenter's rate, and that it should only take 2-3 hours.  When we received the adjusted invoice, we saw they charged us for 4 hours.  Since this near the end of the job after we had various other problems, we went downstairs to check on the progress after 3 hours, and the worker had already moved on to other tasks.  When I confronted JIm about it, his response was "Please keep in mind when we work of [sic] the insurance company's numbers, it's a very small profit." I don't believe that should be a valid excuse for padding hours.
    The proposal included a $2/sq ft flooring allowance for vinyl flooring.  I asked Erin what would happen if we came in under the $2 allowance, and she said we'd get money back.  We picked flooring that was $1/sq ft, but somehow the actual cost of the flooring came in exactly at the estimate.  I would have expected to receive about $.70/sq ft back after taking into account sales tax and the need to buy maybe 25% more than the square footage of the room.  When I asked Erin about it, she said she was going by the Home Depot receipt, which included other flooring materials that were not included in the original estimate.
    1. Kargman's had agreed to pull out a built in cabinet, clean behind it for mold, and reset the cabinet. Even though 2 other contractors told us they probably wouldn't be able to do this, Jim said it wouldn't be a problem.  When the flooring contractors were about to put flooring in without doing the cabinet work, I asked them if the cabinet should be reset first in case things don't line up after.  They knew nothing about it.  After I talked to Erin, there were some conversations between Erin, the flooring contractors, and a carpenter, and they decided they couldn't pull the cabinet out.  Instead, they sent out someone from the office to do a moisture test, charging us $60 for it without our approval.

    Finally, after the job was complete, Kargman's did not clean very well.  There was drywall dust everywhere.  They also did not put our furniture back.  I had thought about asking the worker about it, but he had already put in a 12 hour day finishing up a job that he had not worked on previously, and I didn't want to keep him longer.

    The one positive thing I can say is that the workers who were here did a good job.  The flooring and walls look really nice.  It's just a shame how the project was run.
