    Overall they performed the service as described. However, I felt significant pressure to be upsold. They used recommended maintenance targets that were clearly not indicated by the manufacturer's manual of my vehicle, but insisted their and quot;computerand quot; was right.
    I found their prices for these add-ons to be quite lofty. I will not be going to their shop again secondary to the added sales pressure and the increased costs.
    However, the work was completed quickly and competently, so I were are in need of quick service on a one-time basis I would reconsider.

    They have an internet scheduling system, so I felt this was nice so that I could drop of my vehicle without difficulty.  Did not feel any  aggressive selling tactics for other services.  I would recommend printing a coupon before you go in as this can save you $$.  I have used their services twice for oil changes and found them to be professional and reasonably priced.

    After being grossly overcharged several times for repairs at the local (Sharrett) Mazda dealer, I used Angie's List to assist in finding a reputable car repair facility that would do a good job with ripping me off. I am mechanically apt but in February without a garage I wanted someone else to perform the repair. I went in to Shell to make an appointment and dropped the vehicle off the next day.
    This particular make and model is prone to mysterious stalling when hot and is caused by multiple electrical part failures. The local Mazda dealer is trained to change parts according to what the computer tells the mechanic to change. These stalls at highway speeds do not show up on the computer readout so the dealer is totally stumped. The Miata enthusists discuss the issue online and this is where I found the solution. I am picky on the quality of replacement parts so I mail ordered the genuine Mazda parts from Rosenthal Mazda in norhern Virginia because they were over $175 cheaper than Sharrett Mazda for the same parts!
    I provided the two parts to Shell so all they had to was exchange them out. I estimate the actual time to complete the job would be between an hour and an hour and a half. Shell seemed to be busy with several cars waiting to be serviced. Two days later they called and informed me that thae car was ready for pick up. I was satisfied on the labor charge, again less than the dealer, and the work completed. I recommend Virginia Avenue Shell.

    Now the thing that bothers me is what I saw when I brought in my 4 runner for service, I kept seeing the service reps upselling service that was not needed. They really put on a show, scamming mostly elderly people. Telling them they needed transmission flushes, this and that, when I heard the tec say that care had 11 K miles I was shocked. I have not see the same person so maybe he is gone, But this put a bad tast in my mouth,

    Had used them in the past on a major job when a SUV ran a red light and did 11500.00 to my car. So I went back on a small job which ended up costing me 3000.00 and after talking to several other shops after the work was done found they way over charged for the work. Was told it was going to take at least a week to do the work, I dropped the car off on Monday and picked up a free loaner (which was a reason I went with them) stopped by on tuesday to get something out of the car and they had not started on it by noon then on thursday they said they were done. So in 2.5 days they were done and charged for a week. When I got it home and looked over the job found the hood and front fender out of line. I can say by this time I was a bit mad and decided it would be better to fix these things myself instead of going off on the service rep who must get paid on commision and will never let them work on another car for me. I have used Mace with much better results.

    The car is in good shape.  They are dishonest, and pushy. They are deceitful. Really listen to the customer. Abide by the customer wishes. Be honest. Not be snobby.
