Technician arrived at my house in a timely manner and explained to me that I needed a new thermostat but the insurance would not cover it. It would be too much paperwork and he was sure they wouldn't cover the repair. He could do it for $150 dollars on top of the $45 dollar's I paid him to show up. My house was cold and I had to be to work in an hour so I had to pay him the $150 to get my heat repaired, what kind of thieves are you hiring to make repairs to people homes who have paid for this insurance to prevent these excessive fees from predatory practices.

American Home Shield got me to stay with them on the premise that repairs would be done by a second company--NOT ATR, given my poor experience with them. American Home Shield also said they would reimburse me for the material for the repair as long as I sent them the receipt which I did via email. I have tried to contact the person I originally spoke with and am still waiting for the refund and have heard nothing back. I've tried contacting them via email and phone and left numerous messages to no avail. I would highly recommend staying away from this company! P.S. the property mentioned is a property that was up for resale.

    ATR General Service Corp
The technicians came out as scheduled. They told me that the system was low on freon, which I was already aware of. They told me they needed to get authorization to replace a certain valve from American Home Shield. They then told me the valve was leaking (this was determined by using soapy water on the connections as opposed to freon detector), When I received a call back, I was told it would cost me over $1,000 to have it done because they would have to take all the freon out to replace the valve. This all sounded a bit off to me for a variety of reasons, so I decided to go with another company. They didn't perform the original service correctly to begin with and after using the other company, everything works fine. The second time I called ATR due to the leak in the drain pan, they came out and looked at the issue for about 5 minutes before calling American Home Shield and accusing me of abusing the system thus causing the damage. When I called the company I normally use and told the technician about the issue, he laughed at ATR's diagnosis and told me that the leak was NOT due to abuse, but a dirty coil. He cleaned the coil and everything works fine now.

The Supervisor was very professional and customer friendly. She recommended a fantastic second contractor that came to house within an hour to inspect the garage door.  The contractor was friendly and answered all  my questions during the process of the inspecting and repairing the garage door opener.  I was amused to see him showed up to my house  after talking to Choice warranty supervisor.
I will definitely continue to  recommend my family, friends and neighbors to choice warranty.

I've had to use them a couple of times and it was good. They give you like a 48-hour turnaround after you call them to put in the claim. They call after 24 hours. It wasn't bad, but sometimes you need stuff done right away I think. Sometimes when a person comes, they need to order parts and then you have to wait till the part comes. And then I had to take off another day when the part came. That was a little inconvenient. I keep them because it covers everything in your house, all the major appliances.

They do not cover anything that they say they're going to cover. There is always an excuse why they're not going to cover. The man who they sent said that he needed a part for the machine. But he went back to the warranty company and said there was nothing wrong with the machine. It turned out, my son had to get an outside person to look at it and something was wrong with the machine. They're horrible. I found out later that there was a government action against them because of their misrepresentation. They say they are a warranty company, but they are not. They're a service company. They don't cover anything that you ever have wrong with. There is always an excuse why it can't be covered. Both my son and I went to another company. Finally, I got out of the contract with them after a long haul because you pay three years in advance with them because their price is so good. It cost $1300 for three years and they only charged $45 a service call. I tried to look up the one they were going to send me. I tried to do research on that person because I'm a woman living alone and I'm not going to let anybody in my house and they didn't exist. I tried to find and they didn't exist. When you have a business, you exist. It's a very shady business. I warn people not to fall for that and I warn people to check with Better Business Bureau.

I have been with them now for two years. They do like an online thing of what you need covered and then someone calls you back to talk to you. Everything was done over the phone. I was going to file a claim when I had some sprinkler heads replaced but they don’t cover that in their warranty. So they told me to pay out of pocket and submit the invoice and they will reimburse some or all of the money. I am still waiting to see if they will reimburse me.

After my contract is up, I'm not going to use them anymore. I pay for this service with my mortgage every month, but I'm not going to use them after next year. You call the company. They find a contractor close to you and they send them out. You have to pay a membership fee every month. You pay a flat $75 and they'll come out and fix the problem you're having. I think I've only had one issue with my washer and dryer. They had to order a part and it took them a few months to even come back out here and put the part in. That's the only issue I had with the contractor they sent out. They wouldn't return my calls. The price is a little high for me.

On the week of 12/17 my heat went out so I called CP to try and get a contractor out to fix it. They gave me a number of a contractor that I was to call and set up an appointment and I did. I called the contractor on 12/20 and they said that they could not come out until 12/21 and gave me an appointment time of between 2pm - 5pm.  On the 21st it was really cold with rain/snow mix outside and I had no heat so I made sure I was available for this appointment. I waited all afternoon for the contractor to show up and they never did.  They never called me to say that they would be late or not coming at all. I tried calling the contractor and got a voicemail so I left a message. The next day I called CP and told them what happened, they apologized and gave me another number for another contractor.  I called that contractor and the person was rude so I never got an appointment. I called back to CP to tell them and the rep apologized again. I then found a contractor on my own and paid for them to fix it out of my own pocket.  Two weeks later, CP calls me to tell me that I will be fined for a "no show" because the original contractor filed a complaint with them that they did come but I was not home. The contractor said that they tried to call me several times and that they sat outside my house for over an hour. I told the rep that this was not true and that I was indeed home. The rep put me on hold and then came back on the line and told me that this is a he said she said matter and that I would need to take it up with the contractor. I agreed but was still confused because if this is a matter to be taken up with the contractor directly why is CP drafting the fine from me?  It puzzled me because it was like they sided with the contractor over their customer/client.  Then the rep tells me that it is in their interest to keep their relationship with their contractors in good standing and that they have to keep them happy.  I then asked what about your relationship with your paying customer? The rep repeated again that they want to keep their contractor happy first and foremost. I could not believe her answer and hung up the phone. If this was a he said she said matter, then let me take it up with the contractor directly because there is no way to know who was right so why take a side without the facts?  Second, I called to complain with CP right when the contractor had not showed and they apologized. If I was wrong why apologize and give me another number to another contractor? Third, your paying customer is who you should be loyal to not the contractor. Fourth, I do not have a home phone by design. I only have a cell phone which makes it very easy for me to go online to my account and download my call history for the past month and see that on 12/21 there were no calls to my phone from the contractor, only my calls to them. BUT that was never asked for, I was wrong off the top.  Last, if indeed the contractor was sitting outside my house with no response at the door or on the phone from me, do you really think they would just sit there for over an hour without calling CP themselves to complain that I was not there?  Why didn't they do that?  They never came that's why. The contractor knew that I was going to complain to CP because I told them on my second voicemail that I would do so, so they probably beat me to it and filed a no show complaint knowing CP would side with them regardless. I am a paying customer that pays $500 a year for a service I may or may not use depending on what breaks down. The contractor doesn't pay CP a thing, they bill them so why slight your customer? My mom and brother are looking for a new home warranty company and I was going to refer CP and that would've been $1500 a year for them and they lost it now because I cancelled my account and will not refer anybody to them going forward. What was said to me was unprofessional and I was made to feel like I did not matter to them, that I was just another customer.  I contacted their VP of customer service and her reply was to send me and email on how to cancel my account.  She didn't offer to look into it or nothing or try to make things right but just to advise me to cancel.  I find it all very unprofessional and do not reccoment them to anybody. With them, the contractor is always right, not the customer.
Please also note that IF your applicances are beyond repair, they do not replace the appliance. They give you 25-30% of what it would cost to replace the appliance.  There are other warranty companies that will replace the appliance in full. Yes, you might have to pay a deductible but that is cheaper than having to make up 70% of the difference on a new appliance.  Beware.

Good price for the work. Just pay a "co-pay" based on the service plan you select.
