    Manny's Painting Services, LLC
The overall job went well. The (reasonable) estimate was performed weeks in advance of work. The work required 2 days. Scheduling was agreed on, & Manny confirmed a few days before the job. Manny power washed himself, but had a co-assistant on the paint project. Communications, punctuality, and work progress was very good. The finished job met my expectations. I only wish extra paint couldve been left for touchups; but Manny did provide me with purchase info having brand/color of sealant used. A 3 yr warranty was also provided with receipt so thats awesome. Ive even obtained another estimate for possible painting of my siding.

I rated a C because the system wouldnt let me to submit my quote feedback without giving an overall grade. I DID NOT HIRE, ONLY RECEIVED A QUOTE. My review is based on that experience. I requested a quote via Angies List and George responded quickly. He confirmed that we only needed 3 sides of our home cleaned, because the front is brick. He proceeded to give me a quote that was almost triple every one of the 3 quotes Ive received thus far. Our house is on the larger side, 4400 sqft above ground, but the other companies had this information as well. Theres no excuse for this sort of price gauging (I cant think to call it anything else). I definitely cant recommend anyone who would do that. As stated earlier, I elected not to move forward with hiring this company.

    AA Repairs & Replacements
I am very placed with the service I received from AA Repairs & Replacement. The job was a complicated one, one that required some news windows, sliding doors (2), and new sidings. Prior to an agreement to have the work done, Mr. Arif Ahmed, owner, consulted with me on the complexity of this job. I felt the price was reasonable, but mostly trusted this company because they have done satisfactory work for me previously. Fortunately the work began and ended very well. I was appraised of this important investment for me all along the way. With such a large investment trust to me is a huge factor. AA Repairs & Replacement came through again. I am very satisfied, for I've been told by the owner if not satisfied to let him know. Happily I recommend this company. Alan Oakes

    RW Proctor Contracting
It was wonderful, you could not ask for a better group of workers, I liked that the cost was broken down so that you got to see where your money was gong, they also broke down the payment plan. They did a beautiful job and we are enjoying our new shed.

    City Renovations & Remodeling LLC
I highly recommend City Renovations and Remodeling to new and experienced homeowners and investors. In fact, Mike Wiggs, owner of the company, was highly recommended to me from a trusted source. Mike has been my designer, general contractor and project manager for over three years. He and his team of subcontractors for all the trades and handymen have successfully completed numerous projects for me. The internal big jobs included Mike and his team remodeling my basement into a permitted apartment with an egress window, injection well system, and recessed lighting; remodeling my kitchen into a larger space, better layout and upgraded appliances, cabinets, backsplashes (e.g., switching from an electric cooktop island to a slide-in gas range and installing a peninsula); changing the location of the sliding door and a set of windows in my sunroom for better flow and sightline from the front door entry to the patio door leading to my wooded backyard; replacing the damaged one of the two HVAC systems (i.e., one for the first floor and basement and the other for the second floor); and whole house interior painting and decorative touches (accent walls, trim, etc.) The external big jobs included Mike and his team resolving the sources of severe water damage to my two-story front door entry area and installing a new door, side lites and stoop. He resolved other water problems at my house by installing upgraded, larger gutters connecting to a new underground drainage system, and re-grading a section of the backyard next to my house in order to better collect water coming onto the house and move it away from the house. The other jobs Mike and his team completed include installing decorative lighting in the front of my house and security lighting at the sides and back; installing and repairing wooden privacy fencing in my backyard; washing away years of mold, mildew and stains from the siding of my house; and installing shelving for two closets and the laundry room to increase my storage space. After years of City Renovations and Remodeling successfully improving or repairing my home, I hired the company to help me with an investment rental property. Mike completed a walk-thru assessment and report to supplement the information from the home inspector and appraiser. Through my pre-purchase consultation with Mike, I got a good idea of what it would take improve the property given my goals and budget. I look forward to working with Mike and his team to renovate the property.

The job went pretty good. The only glitch is the guys that installed were not updated, or aware of a boundary line adjustment discussed between the primary company liaison and myself. Hence, when they installed they did so according to original paperwork. :( However, after I contacted the company about the matter, and spoke with my liason, even though an entire fence side needed to be adjusted _ they were willing to do so. The overall workmanship and services otherwise were good, so a tip was given in lite of the day they had to come out and adjust the fence. It was worth it all.

    J&M Power Washing
My house was filthy and needed cleaning plus it is stucco so I need someone that knows what they are doing. Mike Baker of J&M Power Washing was that person. I had got estimates that was twice what Mike charged me and he did a excellent job. My house look better than when it was new. Plus he did me a favor I needed my shutters taken down and he did that for a cheap price. So you what to know if I will use him again. The answer is yes he was the utmost professional.

    Wheaton Door & Window Company
Hired Deck Wizards because of its affiliation with Wheaton Door and Window, which has been in this area since the 1940's, A business that lasts that long must be doing things right. How mistaken I was. Deck Wizards evidently uses "subcontractors" (read as whoever is standing around outside of the local paint store at 7 am on any given day) who showed up over an hour late, operating out of the trunk of their personal vehicle. Nothing on the vehicle or on their apparal (read as not even a teeshirt with "Deck Wizards" on it). One spoke minimal English; the other spoke no English. It took them all day, using handheld equipment to strip the existing covering. I expected that someone in this business would have equipment more suited to this type of work. When I asked the "leader" (so designated because he spoke some English) about the equipment. He told me they had that equipment but it was on another job. It took them until almost dark to complete the job, but to their credit, their work was excellent. The deck surface was as clean as it could possibly be. However, that was the end of any quality workmanship. The next day, they did not show up at all, nor did I get a call from them to let me know. I recalled that the "leader" had called me the day before they first came out and I had his number in my phone. I called him and he said their vehicle was broken down on I-270 many miles away from my home in Upper Marlboro, MD and in fact many miles away from their shop location. He told me they would try to get to my home soon. An hour later he called and told me it was too late to get any work done that day and that they would come to my house the next day. They did show up and got to work right away. I sat in my sunroom and watched them as is my custom when I hire contractors. My interest is to see how people do things, hoping I might learn something new. As I observed them, I realized they were painting small areas and immediately applying the "second" coat over wet paint. I thought this was worth questioning and the response was "it's OK, it's special paint." They obviously did not want to come back the next day and just barely finished their work before dark. The deck looked great at that point. As spring and summer passed cracks and peeling had already begun, certainly not attributable to heavy use. Most of the time when it is used it is only my wife and I. I contacted Deck Wizards and they said they would send an inspector out, The person they sent concluded that "this was a one coat job" and told me they would take care of it, but would not be able to do so until the following spring, which was fine with me. They never contacted me in the spring, which astounded me as I would have made this my highest priority as a business owner and been proactive about making this right in every possible way. I decided to wait and see if they would eventually contact me. Meanwhile, their work continued to deteriorate rapidly. Even the benches started cracking and peeling. I contacted them to let them know that the only thing acceptable would be a complete re-do of the entire job. The only response was to tell me they wanted to send another inspector out. Unfortunately, due to health issues and being out of town, I missed two phone calls from someone who left messages to call him to schedule an appointment. The messages were taken by my wife and left on my desk, which I discovered when I eventually got back into my usual routine. I returned this person's calls twice and got no answer. I left messages for him and have heard nothing. This situation has been going on for some time now, (Paid in advance on 9-21-15; work done spring of 2016; filed complaint in fall of 2016; repair work to be done spring of 2017; never contacted by contractor in spring; chose to wait and see if they would contact me, with no resolution and NO proactive outreach by the contractor to resolve this matter.) I told them I wanted it to be completely redone. They are only willing to "fix" the problem. And that takes it right back to a complete redo. There is now way to fix a mess like this. Given their total lack of concern I told them I wanted a refund, which they refused to do. I have also placed a review on Yelp and intend to place another with Washington Consumer's Checkbook in the next few days. I've recently discovered many very, very negative reviews about this company. This is not an isolated incident. USE THIS CONTRACTOR AT YOUR OWN RISK!

    International Painting LLC
These guys did an excellent job and I'd rehire them in a heartbeat. Fermin Ortiz is the owner and is very friendly and conscientious. He was on the job everyday with 2-4 of his crew. The job required just over 3 weeks to complete our 2800 sq ft townhouse. This included painting the indoor garage (including the floor), painting the outside portico over our front porch, and some concrete near our basement steps. Job required repair and patch of nail pops, repair larger holes in drywall, repair old joint tape. Two coats of paint and primer when required. Showed up every morning at 8:00 and worked until 4:30. Part of the higher price was due to my requirement to remove all light fixtures, switch covers, receptacle covers, smoke detectors, and door hardware before painting. Everyday they covered our furniture with plastic sheeting to help keep it clean, then cleaned up/vacuumed the floors, and even moved all furniture themselves as they moved around the rooms. They also worked 6 days a week when requested to get job done on time. I have hired too many contractors in the DMV area that didn't do a good job. I was lucky to find these guys. I highly recommend this company.
