  • Once again, Tropea did a fantastic job. This was not a major job, but you wouldn't know that there was ever a mold or drywall issue. I was extremely pleased with their work and professionalism. I was working from home while they worked and could hardly hear them or remember they were there. By the end of the day, we had our basement in tact again.

  • We have used Priority One Construction since moving into our home in August 2004.  They have remodel the entire basement, covered the horrible plaster ceilings and other plaster walls with drywall, installed recessed lighting, installed a new boiler (we have steam heat), installed a new bathroom in the basement, renovated the kitchen, installed a huge parking pad in the front of the house, and lastly the new handicapped bathroom for my father.
    We have been very pleased with the work, price and timeliness of Priority One Construction.  For all those projects - there have only been two problems and those were caused by subcontractors.  I want you to know that Priority One Construction caused those problems to be solved immediately.  Here are the details - (1) no stone wall with the parking pad - we have a stone house and wanted a stone face retaining wall to cover the concrete block.  The subcontractor just laid some flagstones up against the retaining wall.  I called with my complaint and the owner of Priority One Construction came over and personally fixed the wall to conform to the house.  (2) the new steam boiler ruptured an old pipe months after installation by a subcontractor - we are not dumb and knew we needed a new boiler so we got it installed in the summer - it was tested but not run at any length until winter.  Unfortunately, that winter a steam pipe burst and flooded the basement.  After investigation another plumber opined that the piping configuration should be redone to avoid the pressure (it was complicated) but Priority One Construction got the subcontractor to reconfigure the pipes at no additional cost months after installation and when the rupture was not one of the new pipes but a very old one.  Those were the only two problems we encountered and both were solved quickly and to our full satisfaction.  
    I highly recommend Priority One Construction.   I have absolutely no financial interest in this company but my home has been and always will be available to potential customers to see their quality of work and hear from my own lips my experiences.  Just ask Joe to put you in touch with me.

  • I felt well. They were pretty good in scheduling. They were fairly flexible. I thought that they were a little expensive. We did pay them additional funds. We paid about $500 more than the $198. The guy they sent was very nice but incredibly quiet and not a very good communicator. The company did nothing wrong. The work he did was fine but I guess service matters. I think he did speak English but not well. It was hard to communicate or ask questions. He was polite. It was nothing unprofessional.

  • Jeff and his team are incredible!  The utmost professionals.  We have used them many times over the last 8 years and they always exceed expectations.  The current project was a rental property in which the departing tenants were still occupying the property and Jeff handled the situation with care and respect, even though one of the tenants was less than cooperative. 

    Quality of work is always a given.  I have always found Jeff would rather not take on a project unless he can do a quality job.  Case in point, one wall had water damage and a small amount of moisture on the inside of the drywall underneath the old pealing paint.   Instead of just painting over it and moving on Jeff cleaned up the damage to allow adequate drying and committed to coming back another day to finish the project.  Many contractors I have dealt with in the past would not have done that.  

    One of the most powerful selling points of Jeff's team is his interior designer.  She has impeccable taste and skill, so much that we just provide general objectives and delegate the actual selection of colors and design to her.  She always does a better job than we could ever do. With Jeff and Team, you hire a high quality contractor and get design and space advice as part of the package; WHAT A BARGAIN!

  • American Home Sheild went out of their way to deny the claim. American home shield specifically does not cover damage caused by a broken appliance. They specifically said that regardless of if they would have paid for the radiator replacements, they would not cover the thousands of dollars in remediation caused the water damage resulting from the broken radiator. This is not the first time that AHS tried to deny service for an appliance that clearly would have been covered. I fought and won with a microwave repair earlier, but I lost on the radiator that they should have covered.

  • The quality of the work was average, but there was a billing dispute that was handled in the most unprofessional manner. When I called Servpro, I told them that I was going through my homeowners insurance company. I later learned that they put me down as a private pay customer and overcharged me. They billed me for a $200 emergency fee. I later learned from my insurance company that I should not have been billed for emergency fee because Travelers insurance has a special agreement with Servpro which waives this fee. The insurance adjuster also informed me that Servpro charged me an extra $60 for equipment (fans) that were not needed for this job.

    When I called Servpro to resolve this matter, I was lied to. I was told that all customers have to pay the emergency fee. I have spent several hours trying to resolve this, but the customer rep (Sarah) and a manager (Carrie Jackson) continue to be dishonest and give me the run around. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

  • Very honest guy.  Pointed out some cheaper fixes to try (not involving his company) before investing in a major waterproofing.  Other companies wanted to charge $3000 to $6000 to implement a solution without clearly identifying the problem.  He suggested that I call him if we had water infiltration after implementing his recommendations so he could come out promptly to try to identify the cause.

    • Phoenix restored my home to like new condition.   The workmen were courteous and punctual.   The end result exceeded my expectations.   Pricing was competitive but fair.  Insurance covered my costs.

  • I liked  Tom from Disaster Response and believe that he is very knowledgeable. However, despite an address on Lombard St and a local phone number, they are really located in Chantilly Virginia.    If you are comfortable with a long distance contractor, then I certainly think that Tom and Disaster Response might be worth checking out.

  • This was truly a "WOW" experience!!!!I recently purchased a new home and within 30 days of moving in I experienced a major leak from the roof top terrace down into the master bedroom.  Not knowing when the leak actually started, I was concerned about mold and water damage.  I called Mold Gone and spoke directly to Joe.  He listened to my concerns, and scheduled my inspection within 2 days.  He arrived on time and conducted a thorough inspection, even crawling into the wall space.  When asked how much do we owe, he smiled and stated, "there is no charge," "there is no mold, the walls are in good shape and from this point I hope you can enjoy your new house." My mother was so excited to know that there was no cost she asked him if she hug him.   xoxoxoxAs I said in the beginning this was truly a "WOW" experience....in this economy it's very rare you get something for nothing....
