  • This doctor came highly recommended, although I'm not sure why. He seems friendly enough but when it comes to treatment, he earns an "F" grade. I generally have to wait approximately an hour to see him, even when scheduling early morning appointments. If his first recommended treatment options don't work, you are SOL. He claims that he is accessible via a secure web portal; however, my experience is that he doesn't respond. Multiple calls and messages via the portal get a response only after several weeks. He's ordered blood work and when the results come back outside of normal ranges, he ignores it. My Vitamin B & D levels have been low for over 2 years and sed rate hgh; his response every time is to tell me I have to get my D levels up. Of course, he provides no suggestions on how that is going to happen. Apparently his telling me to raise my D levels is expected to magically make a difference. I saw him after a muscle injury (just happened to have an appointment the following week) and asked him about the pain and swelling. He dismissed it and told me to keep exercising. Months later I saw an ortheopedic doctor because of continued pain and was told that the injury was entirely treatable, IF it had been *properly diagnosed* and treated initially. Since it was not, I now have major scar tissue and more injuries that are not treatable and I will likely have pain the rest of my life. He totally ignores what I've said during appointments. At one appointment, I told him what I have tried to address my fibro pain and he spent 5 minutes telling me I should do what I just said I had already done. He is insensitive and totally out of touch when it comes to treating complex medical issues. He apparently has a deal worked out with a couple of drug companies because he has standard prescriptions he recommends and does not respond when told they are not working. I usually leave his office in tears and feeling worse than when I went in.

  • The first visit was just OK and it went downhill from there. She did not listen to concerns and offered no useful advice on dealing with health issues. Her hours are limited so it was next to impossible for me to get in to see her. The office staff discouraged me from seeing anyone else in the office when I could not get in to see her. The 'straw that broke the camels back' was when the office staff lied about having discussed medication with me. When I requested a refill, my prescription was changed. I asked the pharmacy why it had been changed and they told me that the office staff who handled the refill advised them that they had discussed it with me and that I 'did not know what medications I had been taking'. I spoke with no one about medications and was very unhappy with the change when the original medication was working well. I felt that Dr. DeMusis was condescending and did not respond to health concerns. When I brought up things such as significantly low levels of some vitamins in blood tests, she dismissed my concerns. She flat out refused to order blood tests in some cases despite a history of problems with malabsorption. When I switched to a new doctor, they were appalled that I was not being treated for dangerously low levels of some key nutrients.

  • He is an excellent physician. He has a wide range of medical knowledge. He is interested in his clients as people, not just bodies. He is committed to general practice. I have gone to him for many years and recommend him highly.

  • I've been using him for about 20 years. The nice thing about him is that he's a very good listener and pays attention to what you're saying. He's very upbeat, explains thing very carefully so that I can understand it, and is an overall nice man. Its easy to schedule appointments, and Ican usually get one in about a week. The front office staff is great.

  • They have different sites and it's well established. It's really great and I just love it. They have very good hours and they're friendly. There are two sides that I've been going to and they're very different. One side is for women only and it's in the city and the other side is about 10 miles away and it's very large and it has everything. It's very interesting that they've different side with different personalities. I was very pleased with them that they also updated a smaller side. It's a family business and they're very helpful. I haven't had a personal trainer but I have friends that has and I hear nothing but good things. A lot of times, they would say some encouragement words. The equipment is there and they taught me what they were doing.

  • This provider no longer exists. They are now Chesapeake Cardiovascular Associates and they are located in the Physicians' Pavilion at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson, MD off of N. Charles Street.

  • Billing department did not code health insurance information on requisition for lab work, so I received a bill for > $300 for a simple blood draw.  I had to call the lab, supply the insurance information, and be rebilled.  Physician refused to discuss alternative remedies over the phone.  Required an office visit (which would then be billed).  Altogether adversarial relationship with patients.

  • Dr R took on a challenging situation saw it thru with compassion and knowledge;
    great bedside manner and compassion; great communicator; he's just like everyone's
    big brother. His retirement is a great loss to his patients.

  • Unfortunately, I never met with this doctor since he is not in my insurance plan. I have heard that he spends as much time as needed with his patients and can run quite late. However, he has a great reputation and I have been told by other doctors that he is worth the wait!

  • My wife and I have been seeing Dr. David Kafonek for several years for routine GI care and colonoscopies. He is very professional, friendly, and thorough and stays on top of the latest medical information. His office staff are very nice as well. He actually makes having a colonoscopy a good experience and I highly recommend him.
