Lighting Installation reviews in Towson

  • Gus completely remodeled my kitchen from drab and early 80’s to sleek, modern and magazine ready. Gus and his team were professional, on time and hardworking. Gus worked with us to make our plans into our dream kitchen. His vision and craftsmanship were hands down the best. My custom made cabinets have everyone in awe when they enter our kitchen. He was available to answer any questions either in person or by phone. He went beyond the kitchen fixing things he saw wrong elsewhere in the house. Walking into my kitchen each day makes me smile. My home feels new and bright and I still can’t believe it’s ours. Thank you Gus for your amazing work.

  • Hunter assessed our needs and helped us figure out exactly what was needed and how we could get it done and keep the costs in line. The project was completed on schedule for the price quoted. The whole team was friendly and responsive to our needs and input.

  • Mike was great- easy to schedule, fitted me in on a weekend since he was already busy all week. Got all the jobs I had done rapidly and well but one dimmer brand replacement (purchased by myself) did not help the issue. My ceiling fan has not run so smoothly in decades and the railing is really solid now after he tweaked the holder. He returned another day to replace the dimmer again with yet another brand (also purchased by myself) but the issue is probably in the circuit not in the dimmers. He gave me the name of an electrician to call. I really appreciate his good nature and willingness to do what he could do try to solve the dimmer issues. He seems to be really good at figuring out solutions. Thanks Mike!

  • Dynamo has been Grade A. They did a great job, not too pricey and worked with my crazy schedule. (Thanks Kenny). You are my 'go to' electrical company to work with. I've had previous jobs done by them but forgot to write a review here (sorry). Each job has been preformed superbly. The guys only took about 15 minutes to replace the kitchen ceiling light. They were also very knowledgeable about concerns I had in general about electrical fires (a worry of mine) and they eased my mind plus gave me tips to avoid those events.

  • The owner met with my wife and I, took notes on our concerns and preferences, and came back to us with a great design that renovated and opened up the kitchen into the family room. The project took longer than expected, but that was due to some design changes we made along the way that delayed the appliances. We really appreciated their attention to detail and their effort cleaning up after the job.

  • Our Renaissance crew was skillful with tile, carpentry and painting. Two carpenters worked every day with an electrician and a plumber coming in to do their specific tasks. The carpenters arrived on time, worked diligently throughout the day and cleaned up. Throughout the 2 1/2 week job, the owner was in touch with us and most often on site every day. Therefore, our questions were answered promptly. The entire crew as well as the owner were pleasant to deal with throughout the project.

  • Quick turnaround on scheduling, called before arriving to confirm arrival time. Arrived right on time and were very polite and helpful. Worked quickly and neatly. Great father /son team. Will absolutely work with them again!

  • Bought an 8 hour of an electrician package via Angie's List.  Was told electrician would be at the house at 8:00 AM.  At 8:15 he called telling me he would be there in "in an hour" - turns out travel time is something the office doesn't count into the equation.  He finally arrived at the house at 9:30.  Once he here, the technician did a fair job of working on a tough problem (which we had to scrap) before turning to a list of relatively minor tasks.  He did a reasonably good job of installing several new outlets and switches, though some of the placements were a bit awkward (lesson, make sure you tell them EXACTLY where you want something, not in a more general area).
At 3:00 (5 1/2 hours into my time), the technician informed me he was leaving at 3:30 as his day has started at 7:30 when he went into the shop.  Nowhere in the "deal" did it say that travel time was a part of the 8 hours.  I had to call the office and talk to the owner to have him approve the final two hours of service.  While I did get that time, there is no question the technician was already one foot out the door.  The last few items on the list were somewhat rushed and things that should have been done were not addressed.
The final straw was the charges for "materials" used during the day.  I had supplied every switch, fixture, etc...  We made two additional trips to Lowes while the technical was here to bring additional supplies.  No question there were some materials supplied by the electrician, but at the end of the day, as he's trying to get out as quickly as possible, I'm told that these items totaled $100.  No itemized detail, just $100.  Unbelievable.  The office was closed, the guy did't have a credit card machine.  It was check or cash.
No way I'd use these guys again.
Another note to Angie's List - deals must be clear about the travel time element.  I understand why this is a real issue for the service providers but Angie's List does a poor job of correlating distance between provider and user.  I should have done a better job of research here but this was a bad deal all around.

  • We have used Priority One Construction since moving into our home in August 2004.  They have remodel the entire basement, covered the horrible plaster ceilings and other plaster walls with drywall, installed recessed lighting, installed a new boiler (we have steam heat), installed a new bathroom in the basement, renovated the kitchen, installed a huge parking pad in the front of the house, and lastly the new handicapped bathroom for my father.
We have been very pleased with the work, price and timeliness of Priority One Construction.  For all those projects - there have only been two problems and those were caused by subcontractors.  I want you to know that Priority One Construction caused those problems to be solved immediately.  Here are the details - (1) no stone wall with the parking pad - we have a stone house and wanted a stone face retaining wall to cover the concrete block.  The subcontractor just laid some flagstones up against the retaining wall.  I called with my complaint and the owner of Priority One Construction came over and personally fixed the wall to conform to the house.  (2) the new steam boiler ruptured an old pipe months after installation by a subcontractor - we are not dumb and knew we needed a new boiler so we got it installed in the summer - it was tested but not run at any length until winter.  Unfortunately, that winter a steam pipe burst and flooded the basement.  After investigation another plumber opined that the piping configuration should be redone to avoid the pressure (it was complicated) but Priority One Construction got the subcontractor to reconfigure the pipes at no additional cost months after installation and when the rupture was not one of the new pipes but a very old one.  Those were the only two problems we encountered and both were solved quickly and to our full satisfaction.
I highly recommend Priority One Construction.   I have absolutely no financial interest in this company but my home has been and always will be available to potential customers to see their quality of work and hear from my own lips my experiences.  Just ask Joe to put you in touch with me.

  • Bluebird Electric was recommended by my daughter who is a General Contractor for work around my house. They have installed 3 ceiling fans and several light fixtures. They are always on time, do great work and don't leave a mess. And I feel they are a good value too.
