Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Towson

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Alex of AmeriPro has amazing and exceptional talent and vision, is highly capable, and is a master of his tools and craft. His work ethic is of the highest quality. He is responsible, kind, honest, punctual, and sincere. Attention to the finest details! He created for us an elegant bathroom from a small and confusing space in an older home. When he was finished we were sorry that the process was over and have hopes of finding more projects for Alex to make our home shine! AmeriPro gets our highest recommendation!

  • Vince did a fantastic job!  He called to confirm the day before and arrived right on schedule.  He went above and beyond by not only refinishing the bathtub but also touched up the minor defects in the shower portion (small cracks, discoloration).  It looks wonderful!

  • It went very well.  I was very pleased. The technician who did the work knew exactly what to do, did the work beautifully, and didn't leave a mess.  It took two days for the larger bathroom, and another two days to do the work on the smaller bathroom.

  • The initial job was done and looked fine, but, in speaking with others, I determined that the finish was too rough to the touch.  The company responded quickly to my complaint and sent the same serviceman out to address my concerns.  That serviceman called and gave me an hour's window to get home from work in the very early afternoon on a Wednesday or otherwise "[I] would just have to wait [for another available day in his schedule]." He was much more concerned with the fact that his having to address my concerns was going to cut into his "personal life" than he was with making the job right to my satisfaction.  He agreed that the tub was too rough to the touch, but, presumably in an effort to save time, he wanted to resand it only.  Nevertheless, he reluctantly agreed to apply another coating of paint.  Even so, he was there less than an hour.  I do not typically write negative reviews about anything, but I feel that the fact that there was no effort to accommodate my schedule is unacceptable, particularly when it was a matter of responding to my concerns regarding the quality of the initial job.  And, the tub still is too rough to the touch!

UPDATE:  The aforementioned finish began to peel, and I was forced to contact the company yet again.  This time, I was able to communicate with Bruce, whom I believe is the owner of the company.  He couldn't have been more responsive to my concerns.  He immediately asked Todd, a different serviceman, to come out to address my concerns.  Todd was very friendly and flexible and seemed genuinely to care about my concerns.  He came promptly at the agreed upon time, and he and his partner worked for several hours resanding and refinishing the tub.  For some unknown reason, that finish began to "ooze" the following day, and I again communicated with Bruce, who again couldn't have been more responsive to my my concerns and asked Todd again to come to diagnose the problem.  Todd again was very friendly and flexible and seemed genuinely to care about my concerns.  He again came promptly at the agreed upon time, conducted a thorough washing of the new finish, and rehung my shower doors.  I have had not problems since, and the finish Is very smooth to the touch.  Sometimes things don't happen according to plan, but Baltimore's Best Tub Refinishing really did go above and beyond to make things right.   I now have amended my ratings from straight Cs with a D for professionalism to straight As.  I highly recommend this company!

  • I'll admit that I haven't been the easiest person to work with. I originally emailed John about 2 month ago with questions about refinishing our tile and tub. John answered all of my questions quickly and completely, and was able to provide me a quote based on a description and pictures that I sent him.

I wasn't able to commit to a date right away as the refinishing was just one part of our budget bath remodel, and I wanted to take care of other issues first, such as plumbing. John was incredibly easy to work with, and was even understanding when I had to reschedule at the last minute.

John showed up on time -- a little early, even -- and got started right away. He worked very hard and was all finished in about 5.5 hours. He even helped us solve a problem with a bad toilet water valve that was afraid would throw a wrench in the whole process.

The initial quality of the reglazing is excellent. No more pink tile! As long as its properly taken care of (cleaned regularly with mild detergents, no dog baths in the tub, etc) the work is guaranteed for 5 years and should last longer. Time will tell how well it holds up, but we are optimistic.

We priced out contractors to replace the tile and tub, and at a minimum, it would have been $5000. I consider myself to be fairly handy, but the idea of doing a full bath remodel myself was just as off-putting. Refinishing seems like a great solution, and we feel we really got out money's worth with Cheasapeake Permaglaze South.

  • It went very well. Vince answered a few questions for us over the phone, showed up on time, and went to work. His work was thorough and careful. He had to strip off the old coating before re-coating since our tub had apparently been refinished before. I can still hardly believe how much better it looks - it looks brand new! (except the fixtures, which now look kind of old, but we are going to replace those).

  • First of all, Bath fitter would not come out for a quote unless myself and my wife were both home.  This is ridiculous.  What if my wife was a single mother?  What if I traveled for business?  This is a horrible business practice.

We recently had what they refer to as a "floater" on our tub liner (water getting underneath).  We saw the bath fitter kiosk in the mall and was told by the sales rep that it could be repaired. When the sales rep arrived he told us there was no way it could be repaired and we were misinformed.

He then began to "size" us up as clients. He commented on our redone kitchen and how much it must of cost.  He asked what we did for a living. He then proceeded to tell us that we needed to replace the whole shower/tub.  Our house is old, but the original tile walls in the shower are immaculate.  There are no cracks and it is not needed to replace the whole thing.  All we wanted was a replacement tub.

He continued on telling me what I needed and not what I was asking for.  Eventually he told me its a small job and he wasn't making any money on it but wanted our business. The final quote was 1600, and he would not put it in writing.

Overall, this was a horrible experience.   The only positive to this experience was the sales rep arrived on time.  Perhaps if we were a "larger" job we would have been treated differently.

  • Excellent. Vince was great from the initial discussion on the phone to the day of work. He was honest about the materials he used on our tub. The work was done very well. The smell after was easily dissipated by keeping the bathroom window cracked. The next day, the smell was hardly noticeable. Highly recommend!

  • Awesome! I'm selling the house and thought I was done with updates, but the agents suggested refinishing the stained tub. And they were right - the tub looks so new, and blindingly white. It brightened up the whole 50's bathroom. Vince was very helpful. He knew I was working toward listing the house asap, and when he had a cancellation, was able to work me in sooner. The agents told me this is money well spent. The only "downside" is that now the wall tiles look dingier in comparison.
