Jose picked up when I called to ask if they could cut down the tree. He said he would stop by to look at it about 6:00 or 6:30 that evening. At about 8:00, he texted to say he had just gotten home. He apologized and asked if he could come the next evening. We set the time for 5:30. He was 45 minutes late to that appointment. When he finally arrived, he said he could do the job for $800. This is to cut down an old tree that is only about 15 feet tall. The trunk is about 1 foot in diameter, but it's really not a big tree. He said it would cost $200 to rent a stump grinder. But when I spoke to him initially, I asked if he had a stump grinder and he said yes. He said after they grind the stump they have to add topsoil and grass seed. I said I didn't need that. His price was way too high, so I said no thanks. He later texted me to say he could do it for $550. But I still think that's too much.

Brian and his team are fantastic! I could not believe my eyes when I looked out at my yard after sunrise this morning. He transformed our overgrown and unruly lawn into a park! My wife and I are looking forward to sitting out on our deck and simply enjoying the incredible makeover of our yard. Brian put in a high quality dark mulch to fill sculpted garden spaces, added plants and flowers that are beautiful and deer-resistant, formed borders around trees, shaped our shrubbery, removed overgrowth and deadwood from trees, removed vines from tree limbs that were threatening their health and beauty, removed unwanted ivy from our property, and more. He spent time before and during the project to make sure that he understood our goals. He stands by his work, and I am sure he will continue to be there for advise at any time. His prices were not the lowest, but reasonable considering the scope and quality of the work performed. No doubt we will continue to use him and recommend him.

    Ochoa Landscaping LLC
Ochoa Landscaping has been mowing my lawn for several years. They are reliable and do a good job for a reasonable price. They also help me with an annual leaf cleanup. I am very pleased with their services.

Kyle and his team did a full revamp of our backyard, and it was a great experience from start to finish. They tore up old concrete, resodded the entire yard, installed a gravel parking pad with a retaining wall, and replaced the chain link fence with a well-constructed horizontal wooden one. Kyle was always prompt and responsive, and stuck to the quote we'd agree on. I would absolutely recommend him and his team.

Brian and his crew were absolutely incredible. We just moved into a home in Takoma Park, MD and our front and back yard were in need of some major work. The backyard was a complete jungle. It was extremely overgrown with weeds, brush, poison ivy, and dead/unattractive trees. Brian's crew manually dug out everything and removed all of the dead trees as well as their roots. They also cut back a ton of bamboo and then laid mulch down in the entire yard. Brian and his crew were able to start within days after getting the final quote. Brian is an extremely reasonable, knowledgable, and caring person. In addition to his landscaping knowledge, he is also a "master gardener." We had no clue about what to do next, so he offered to draw out some sketches of designs (free of charge) as well as ideas for plants and flowers that would be suitable for our particular yard. I took this sketch with me to the nursery yesterday and it was very helpful! I would highly recommend using Yard by Yard if you're searching for a landscaping company that you can trust will do a fantastic job!

Very prompt and issued the estimate the next day. Cost was unreasonable; e.g. price per cubic yard of top soil was five times the going rate for delivery of a cubic yard. Did not hire for that reason.

    Courtesy Calls Lawn Service
I contacted Mr. Curtis 2.5 months ago to have the work done. I gave a lot of lee way since there has been a lot of rain in my area this spring. After 6 weeks, I reached out to find out when he would be able to do the work, he told me after Memorial Day. By mid June I called again and he said..."oh, uhhh I will be there in 3-4 days". After finally coming to my property, he said the rate would be more now since there were so many weeds and vines. I pointed out to him that if he didn't forget about me and had come in a more timely manner, there would not have been so much work. He never apologized about forgetting and the work was just average. I will not be using this service again, and advise others to do the same. Updated 6/26/2019: Mr. Curtis was anything but professional. I contacted Mr. Curtis early April to do my spring yard cleanup. After 6 weeks, I called again, he said he would do the work after Memorial Day. By June 14th I called again and he said"o-o-o-h, ah-h-h I will be there in 3-4 days. By the time he finally came to do the work, there were a lot of weeds. I told him that if he hadn't forgotten about me, there wouldn't be that many weeds. We settled on a price( more than in previous years), he came and did an average job. That weekend , I was in the yard and noticed that all the branches and limbs that he had picked up in the yard were "hidden" behind my shed!(see picture). I told him about this and he said removing limbs/twigs was not part of the job, and he would charge extra for this. WTF? I have my yard done every spring and have NEVER had the landscaper charge for this. He didn't even apologize for forgetting until I called him out. I will not be using this business again, advise you to do the same.

Reviews are tough because they are subjective. In this case, it's pretty clear. ATD was very responsive initially- Charlotte did our site walk/quote and Tina managed the rest. Our spring clean up crew was AMAZING! With the exception of cutting an irrigation/sprinkler line, they were meticulous and worked hard in getting everything cleaned up & ready for the year. In our experience, where ATD dropped the ball was with the weekly mowing crew. They were not careful in cutting the grass, leaving uncut swaths at turns, clumps of cut grass all over the yard and crooked/choppy edging. We tried for weeks to show the guys what we wanted, where they missed & asked them to blow/clean up after mowing to no avail. In the end, when we decided to change to another company, I asked for them to repair the broken line they cut and was told they weren't going to send someone out to fix it. They did forgive the $70 balance in lieu of the repair, but our issue/the point was they didn't take responsibility for the damage/their errors & lack of "attention to detail". Bottom line: Clean up crew was GREAT- Weekly crew is lacking & managing them up is not an option.

    A.I.R. Lawn Care
They showed up the first time, and things were fine: I paid for the entire summer's mowing up front, knowing that I would be out of town a significant part of the summer (they are a bit more expensive than most, but I was willing to go there for the electric lawnmowers). But, their next visit was delayed, and the lawn got a bit long. The next visit after that was *really* delayed (about four weeks!), and the lawn was overgrown. I wrote and complained, but received no response - however, they did actually come out less than a week later and mowed. After that, they were fine, and continued mowing on a regular schedule. However, at the end of the year, I looked at my contract, and the amount I had been billed had included more than twice as many visits as had been paid. I contacted the company and asked to talk to them about this, and received no response. I wrote again, this time pointing out that I think they owe me money. Still no response. I wrote them a third time, detailing my issue and exactly how much money I think they owe me, and *still* no response. I'm now on the verge of taking them to small claims court.

    Abel Landscaping
Not well. Abel did the landscaping which required blowing leaves off the property. He said he couldn't clean the gutters because they were too packed with leaves and dirt. That was fine. Where he stole from me was the mulching. When contracting the job, Abel said mulching would take the price from $225 to $300. I said fine. When he finished the landscaping I paid him the $300. However, we both forgot he neglected to put down the brown mulch I had ordered from him. I called him the next day. He apologized and said he would come back 2 days later. He no showed. I called him the next day and asked what happened. He again apologized and said he would be back 2 days later. Another no show. I called him again and left a message that he needed to return $75 or put down the mulch I contracted. He hasn't picked up any of my calls since. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ABEL TORREZ,
