    Capitol Chimney Service LLC
The work performed was done professionally & efficiently. The two gentleman called ahead of time to provide a time of arrival, and arrived within the set time frame. They were polite, and explained the process while the cleaning was being performed, and answered all of my questions after. The fireplace and chimney were cleaned, vacuumed, and made to look like new inside. Highly recommend.

I thought it went well, but apparently it did not. I asked the tech repeatedly before he left if all the gas lines were repaired properly and everything was normal. He said yes. Well, by this evening I now have no hot water in my house. I do not know whether he damaged a gas line, forgot to turn the gas back on or what. Since this is gas, Im actually very concerned the work was not completed properly. Now, I have to pay a plumber to come out and inspect the gas line and water heater. I will also have to pay another company to check if the gas line was capped properly at the fireplace. I do not recommend this company. Update The company did come out to fix the issue they caused with the water heater.

    American Professional Chimney & Masonry
Everyone at American Chimney was professional, patient in answering questions( we had a lot of them), & were reasonably priced. From the guys who did the quote ( Howard ), to the bricklayer ( Oscar), to the office manager ( Catherine), they are great! We would and will definitely hire them again for any masonry work we need. Highly Recommend!

    Chelsea's Chimney
Referred to Chelsea's Chimney by our chimney sweep when it became clear that our HVAC chimney lining had failed and was leaking over into the fireplace chimney. They removed the failed clay linings in both chimneys, installed new UL listed linings, a damper on the fireplace, replaced and re-cemented the vent lines downstairs from the gas furnace and hot water heater. Crews were friendly, professional, and did good work. Responsive and helpful.

It went very well. The work that Future Contractors did for the installation of the chimney liner was very quick and efficient. I would hire them again in the near future for any other work that needs to be done.

We just replaced a wood insert fireplace installed by Highs about 8 years ago with a gas insert. The wood insert that went through the chimney was done incorrectly with the insulation. It was quite a mess to run a new insert due to their poor job.

Things went extremely well, and APC&M not only completed the work and cleaned up after themselves, but came out again twice more in the next few months when we weren't sure if we were seeing problems with the chimney work (we weren't, but they explained the features of our chimney in more detail and didn't charge us for the visit). In my opinion I believe I was taken advantage of. I believe I was looked at as a dollar sign and not a person with a real problem. Person came out and gave me an estimate. I paid a deposit to secure work to begin. Work was done and I paid remainder. After a rain water was still coming down. Same person came out and claimed gutters had leaves. They were supposed to have cleaned the gutters. Person said he missed a spot covered with leaves when he made the initial inspection. Part of the repair was for flashing. Person who inspected stated flashing needed to be done at base of chimney and roof but the company does not do that "flashing". The company charged me for flashing the chimney. He said I would need to call a roofer. I felt the company got their money and wanted to wash their hands of my problem and pass me off to another company. I am not a rich person and I certainly don't have a high ladder to climb up to my chimney to inspect. On initial inspection person did not show me photos but after work was done I was shown a photo of the issue but again, this company does not do flashing at roof line. I feel the initial inspection was not thorough enough as if they had seen other flashing at the roof line and chimney was not something they did, I could have found a roofer.

    Monocacy Chimney Care
We had this company install a wood burning fireplace (one of the metal insert ones). Our original consultation was great. The owner took a significant amount of time to brainstorm ideas of where/how we could do the installation. He told us it couldve done before Christmas, and we made sure to turn paperwork around immediately. After we paid the down payment and signed the contract, they told us they couldnt do it before Christmas. Disappointing. In January, the first of two teams came to start the work. This group of workers were very nice, and they made an effort to clean up a little. The second day, a different team came to do masonry, and they were swearing loudly and just being generally unpleasant and unprofessional. They left a significant mess. When the masonry was finished, the frame around the fireplace was uneven! The left side was narrower than the right side by four or five inches. We called the company, and they said theyd make it right. So, the same team came back the next day, this time, talking loudly about the owner being an f-ing idiot for making them comeback out. They did the job right this time, and the final product looks good. They asked for the final check, but hadnt done the mantle, which was the contract. They said theyd come back, and a few days later installed a really unimpressive mantle. (We ended up paying someone else to fix it.) The whole thing was very stressful and frustrating. The receptionist would also forget to answer emails or to pass important info along to the owner, which caused delays and confusion.

These guys just left here after fixing a minor issue that went wrong with the equipment installed in the chimney work they did for us in September. Both these experiences were great. No hassle, no attitude, and they came quickly with no charge for the repair. They have been amazing to work with, unfailingly honest, showed up on time, finished when they said they would, and were incredibly nice guys to have in our home while the work was being done to boot. Their price was fully 1/3 the price quoted to us by our original contractor and I think we got better quality than we would have had we gone with the original contractor quote. Highly recommend.
