Jim was one of five contractors that provided us with estimates for our rooftop solar system. He and his crew were by far the most responsive and professional. Its nice to deal directly with the people involved in the project. There were a couple of quotes that were slightly cheaper per kWh, but Jim offered top-of-the-line hardware, which will make a difference in the long run. Jim and company put together a good design, met all deadlines, and communicated clearly about the process, including interaction with PepCo and the Maryland Comptroller. There are many solar installations in our neighborhood, and the work done by Celestial is a work of art by comparison everything lines up perfectly, there are no stray conduits, and its obvious that the crew takes great pride in their work. We went solar in November with CSI and 5 months later we have consistently generated more energy than we have used. I highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations.

Outdoor Illumination was recommended to me by a friend/neighbor And I would certainly recommend the company to anyone needing their type of service. From my first call to the company, service was prompt, professional and courteous. Work was started and completed as promised. The crew was a pleasure to have at my house. After installation there were a couple of adjustments that were needed. Again my email/calls were returned immediately and minor changes were made within 24 hours.

We hired Matthew and his team to completely gut and renovate our small master bathroom. Very generally, the experience was a positive one. The good: - Matthew and his subcontractor were extremely responsive to emails, texts, and calls - If we pointed out something that we thought wasn't quite perfect, they were happy to fix it - trash was removed fairly regularly and they would always tidy up the work/ storage area if asked (mostly when it was spilling into our walkway) - They always called to ask before adding extra work to the contract, even if it was clearly necessary (i.e. sistering some beams that had dry rot) - bills and itemized receipts were produced promptly and regularly - the estimate for labor was spot-on and we didn't feel like we were upsold - the additional costs came from things we had either anticipated or agreed were necessary (some beam sistering, replacing the ceiling, finding an alternate way to vent a new fan) The bad: - our project manager was only on-site a couple times a week and not for very long, which meant there was no direct supervision of the guys doing the work - it felt like every day or every other day we had to point out stuff that needed to be fixed - a crooked tile, missing waterproofing, regular tile used where there should have been bullnose - which was frustrating - they frequently ran out of things or discovered new supplies they needed that had to be ordered (shower valves, more tile, etc.), leading to delays - the work took about twice as long as they had first estimated Overall, I understand that some of these frustrations and difficulties are just part of dealing with a renovation. While I would have preferred not to have to nudge them about items so frequently, I certainly felt like they were treating us fairly in terms of cost and appreciated the responsiveness.

Amazingly smooth and perfect for 3 main reasons. (FYI - LFC's services were from a referral from a co-worker) First, Tony, Uncle Meart, and their entire team could not have been easier to work with. They treated our house like it was their house. Our family like it was their family. They took care to keep the disruption of our daily routine to a minimum. Their workers were properly supervised each day and were respectful. They provided a detailed work schedule that was strictly followed and it was clear when payment installments were due. When there was a need to change the schedule, Tony provided a new work schedule within 2 days. We have never had such a good experience with a contractor. We plan to use them again and already have put them on projects with our family and friends. We were that satisfied and trust their services that much. Second, their work was spotless, professional and timely. Their team's workmanship was of high quality. Whenever something did not look right, it was immediately corrected. Tony or Uncle Meart reviewed all of the work done by their workers to make sure it was functional and looked good. It is obvious that they take pride in their work. It is refreshing in this day and age. As with any construction project, it lasted longer than predicted. However, it was only as much time as needed to have the project done well and to high standards. Third, they worked within our budget. Our repair/remodel was caused by a water leak while we were on vacation. It was devastating. The insurance company, was tough to work with. Trying not to cover certain damage. Tony was open and honest with this approach with us, and the insurance company. He spoke directly with the insurance company and with additional submittals was able to get them to cover a large percentage of the damage. This was because of his tenacity and calm manner in dealing with them. His financial costs were on par with "going rate." This gave us peace of mind and allowed us to focus more on the repair and not the insurance costs.

I chose Solar Energy World because they were highly recommended to me by a few neighbors who had hired them, and because their initial proposal was realistic and achievable and the lowest cost. Every step of the entire process was great - a low-pressure and knowledgeable consultation, a realistic and well-priced estimate (that turned out to match the design exactly), all steps in the process happened on or before schedule, the installation was quick and easy and neat (with cleanup), county inspection and all the after-sale steps were taken care of quickly. Good communication throughout and quick responses to my questions, requests and every single follow-up. They were very quick to replace the inverter unit when it didn't deliver properly. Highly recommended! My only regret is that I don't have more roof space to hire them to fill with another solar array.

Santiago and his crew are top-notch. He's not only a very honest and responsive contractor, he also has good mind for creative work-arounds when you encounter an unexpected problem with your Plan A. The project did not go off without a hitch, but when an error was made, he came up with a solution that actually resulted in a better final outcome than we had planned for. The remodel was extensive and involved removal of a load-bearing wall, running new gas and water lines and electric work. We are delighted with the finished product. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat.

I was called after I submitted project description and requested free estimate from several service providers given by Angie's List. I was walked over the phone to troubleshoot the problem. Problem was with switch in the circuit box not being switched completely to on position. I very much appreciated the troubleshooting at no cost. I've added Meyer Electrical as my go to company when I have electrical problems.

Great job. First, it was a pleasure to meet with Matthew Willis, the business owner. When we reviewed the project, he came up with options that I hadn't considered - that would have been change orders later. The price quoted was what I paid, so that is a huge positive element. The foreman on the job, Gio, was responsive and a good leader to the two workers. The bath addition was completed in 7 days over a two week period. Most importantly, the finished bathroom is beautiful and well made. It is a pleasure to see the room, and it gives me peace of mind to know that the work behind the walls is also excellent.

These folks did a great job for us, and at a very competitive price. We dealt with their location in Rockville. We got good guidance on making choices for materials as well. At first, we hired them to do a full renovation of our kitchen. We were so pleased with the results, as well as the work ethic and staying on schedule, that we then asked them back to renovate our Jack & Jill master bath and our powder room/ laundry area as well. Luisa did a solid job of coordinating everything, and had very good back up when she was on vacation over the holidays. Special thanks also to Florina for helping us pick out the most gorgeous backsplash ever and providing other valued guidance. The guys who did the work on site were also really good. Nice work, long hours and worked some Saturdays to keep the projects moving. When once in a while a correction was needed, they took care of it promptly and with a positive attitude. Also very conscientious about leaving work areas as clean as possible at the end of each day. Impressive people, a pleasure to work with.

My "no" on hire again should really be a "maybe." Finished project looks nice. Mike is responsive and honest. It's clear that he takes pride in the finished work. I would consider him for a handyman project, but not a significant job. I thought I was paying (what felt to me like a retail price) for a project managed by a general contractor with the work done by subs -- carpenter, painter, tile worker, plumber. But Mike staffed it like a handyman project. In that respect, I don't feel that I got the best value for the money. We had some communication issues. I'm not a contractor and didn't understand/anticipate things that Mike had in mind. That issue might have been mitigated by the use of a designer. I didn't click with the cabinet vendor. Mike should have known that the cabinet order was not finalized or placed. We had a delay of a couple weeks because of that. Then, we had another delay of a couple weeks because the sink arrived damaged. I'm thinking that Mike should have unpacked the sink when it arrived, so he could have ordered its replacement - thus avoiding that delay? The tile came out uneven in a couple places and had to be redone. It still isn't perfect, but the imperfections aren't noticeable. Use of a tile contractor might have avoided this? The drain venting for the toilet remains a perplexing issue, and perhaps use of a plumber would have avoided this? Not sure. Mike assures me they didn't touch the drain vents. As it is, a toilet flush causes the sink drain to gurgle unless water has just been run in the sink. Mike is still trying to resolve this. Delays on the project understandably created conflict in the household. Some stress is to be expected in a construction zone located inside an occupied dwelling -- but I love construction and my husband is generally easy going. Nonetheless, in this case, my husband and I came into unnecessary conflict because of the glitches noted above.
