    Drs. Jaffe, O'Neill & Lindgren
Great. She is always ready to answer any questions I have. She will recommend to freeze something off if I think it will affect quality of life. Answers questions on what things are and if benign (always so far).

    Leon Brown MD
Dr Brown was fine. But only had one appointment with Dr Brown. Have since moved away from his practice area in Takoma Park office alongside Washington Adventist hospital so I have now arranged to use a new provider that is closer to my current residence in Leisure World for the same services

    The Dermatology Center PA

Dr. Palestine was knowledgeable and available to answer questions. She seemed to do a thorough skin cancer check. At my request, she removed a mole.  It did not need to be biopsied. She was pleasant.

Her assistant appeared to be bothered by the fact that I did not come with any previous records from the dermatologist that I used the last several years. She stated that usually the patient comes with previous records.  When I made the appointment, no one told me to do that.  Then she asked me to write on a piece of paper that she provided, the contact info from last two dermatologists that I had seen which I did.

When I was checking out, the receptionist told me that I would need to complete a form to request medical records with contact info from previous dermatologists.  While this  makes sense to me, what was the purpose of taking out the time to handwrite the contact info, as told to do by the assistant.?  I do not know why I had to complete the paper that the assistant had asked me to do with all of the contact info for previous dermatologists. Waste of time!. When I asked about this, the assistant seemed to be annoyed and then walked out of the room. She may have been very busy, having a bad day, etc. However, it did not make me feel that the environment was caring, organized or that the assistant tuned into my concerns.

When I completed the form for previous records, I handed it to the receptionist. I was then told, apologetically, that they had given me the wrong form and that I would have to complete another form.  In summary, while Dr. Palestine appeared to be a good doctor, and has lots of experience, her assistant and office staff did not appear to be consumer oriented. Not sure if I will return to this practice.

    Mezebish, Dr. David S

The office was pleasant, easy to park (office validates) and not too much paperwork.  Dr. Mezebish was pleasant and animated.  He asked me what I wanted and I told him.  "I have a bump on my nose that comes and goes; unfortunately, it's not there now," I said.  He peered closer and pronounced 'Precancerous.'  He said one of the other four items were precancerous, and that he could hit them with some liquid nitrogen to kill the precancerous tissue.  I said okay and he did my nose and my back.  There's no immediate reaction, but after I got home, I found that he had treated an area on the bridge of my nose, not the front of my nose as I described.  So he had plainly seen nothing, as there never was anything where he sprayed.  Anyway, I called the office to ask whether it was going to heal okay and was told yes, should be no problem and Dr. Mezebish would be contacting me later.

The next day, I think, someone from the office called to tell me Dr. Mezebish only applied the liquid nitrogen where I was pointing, which makes little sense, but I could ask for help if I needed any.  My fault, they were saying.  I would not be pointing an inch away from the area, he should have confirmed the spot as he couldn't see anything there before applying the liquid nitrogen, and if he made a mistake that's okay, just don't lay the blame on me for his mistake.  In short, way too little communication and a passive-aggressive response when I asked for more information and help.

    Dellatorre, Dr. Daniel L.
Excellent care - more thorough than any dermatologist I've been to.  Attentive, reflective and communicative.  Genuinely seems to take a personal interest in your issues - like your his only patient.  He is not punctual (never has been) but I'm not sure how he can be punctual if he is giving each of his patients the same undivided attention and concern he provided me.

    McKinley-Grant, Dr. Lynn J
I think she is very thorough. I have a particularly difficult problem to solve. I like her manner and she is very professional. Everybody there is very nice, very professional. The place is beautiful.

I had very detailed skin exam conducted by Dr Rishi Patel who also removed several 'tags' from my upper body ( basically for esthetic reasons) .
I needed cosmetic surgery to remove limpoma which was performed by Dr Hyland Cronin ( I do understand why she is not listed among Derm Associate providers) Dr Cronin was very thorough, efficient and down to earth. She has excellent bed side manners and sense of humor. She is the only dermatologists I dealt in the past who did not proscribed for aftercare famous Metro Gel ( which seems preferred medicine among Washington area dermatologists) instead recommending good old-fashion Vaseline.
Unfortunately Derm Associates use outside company for billing purposes. This billing company, based in Pittsburgh , PA kept sending to me incomprehensible bills ( not clearly listing my payments and splitting them into different categories ) which marred my generally excellent experience with Derm Associates.

    Callender, Dr. Valerie D
I went to see Dr. Callendar after being referred by my primary care physician. I arrived on time but needed to wait approx. 45 minutes before being seen. Once seen she spent all of 5 minutes with me, prescribed a very expensive ointment and some over the counter products for my face and that was it. Before I left the office I made a follow up appt with the physician's assistant (PA) for a Monday only to be called a few days before the appt and informed that the PA did not work on Mondays. Therefore I changed my appt to a Friday. Again, when I arrived for my appt I had to wait 45-60 minutes before I was seen and again only about 5 minutes was spent addressing my problem. My 3rd and final appt was with the PA (appts with Dr. Callendar herself were not as available). Again I waited an hour. Again not more than 5 minutes was spent with me. This time I voiced a concern that the medication prescribed for my face and neck was only working on my face. The PA suggested something stronger for my neck and stated she would call it in to my pharmacy. When I went to the pharmacy to pick up the medication, it had not been called in and I needed to call the office from the pharmacy. When I was finally able to get the medication, I discovered it was extremely expensive ($700) and had been prescribed for my chest and not my face. In all fairness I must add that the medication has been effective in clearing up the skin on my face and neck, so all in all it was worth it because my problem has been solved, but I was very underwhelmed with the overall experience .

    Ugel, M.D., Arthur R.
I've had a check-up by Dr. Ugel for the last 5 years or so.  It's always very quick, he answers questions quickly and then moves on.  His nurses are better communicators, I find.  He's pleasant but not particularly warm with his bedside manner.

The receptionist was very friendly. I called because I was delayed by traffic and they were very accomodating, saying not to worry, they would see us when we arrived. The doctor was very nice, recognized the symptoms immediately and advised us on what to do.
