Hvac Repair reviews in Saint Charles

Great customer service, attitude and the "Can Do" service was provided. While the installation went as expected, due to a already installed wifi security system thermostat that was determined to be bad, the team kept diagnosing the system until they got it running.......that kind of service is hard to find now days, so I plan on keeping this company around to do the maintenance and servicing of my system. Job Well Done!!!

Review updated: 30 November 2018. On 07 February 2013, Keepin-It-Cool installed a new Ducane HVAC system. This was not the Lennox or Trane HVAC product that I had requested. The representative stated that the Ducane system was a reliable and authorized system that they install. After the installation, I contacted the company to come back, as previously agreed, to pick up the final signed agreement for the one-year free maintenance service, but the company did not return my calls nor return to my house. While I was new to the area, did not know who a reliable HVAC company was, and I agreed upon the installation price, it was buyer beware on me, and the final choice for using this company is on me, even though I had researched this company on Angies List and the company was also listed in the yellow pages at the time of the install. Compressor unit failed (11-30-18). A certified HVAC dealer/installer was called in diagnose and perform the repair. After the initial inspection, the repairman stated that there was no identifiable nameplate information on the Air handler installed. After the repairman input the Ducane Heat Pump system information to check for a warranty, the online response stated the Ducane HVAC system was not covered under warranty. Additionally, the initial inspection report by the repairman provided the following information: a) HVAC did not have a required emergency cutoff switch or panel installed on the unit, as required, for the system to be within the electrical code in 2013 b) the R22 HVAC systems had a mandatory phase-out date between 2010 to 2015, is no longer authorized and must be replaced with the approved refrigerant HVAC systems. c) Ducane model HVAC system is no longer an authorized system based on the HVAC System efficiency ratings now required. The cost to remove the compressor, recapture the R22 refrigerant and replace the cooling coils, and bring the electrical system up to code is between 2-3K. Additionally, after reviewing the reliability of the Ducane HVAC systems on line with Consumer Reports, and two other online reviewing reports, it is determined that the replacement of Ducane HVAC repair parts/system is not cost effective nor the correct process to use the repair/replace the current R22 system and bring it up to code. It is more cost effective to replace the entire HVAC unit. The repairman (certified in the Waldorf/LaPlata area for 50 years) stated that Keepin-It-Cool is not and has not been a certified or authorized Trane, Lennox or American Made HVAC system installer. This information was not made known to me by Keepin It Cool during the install when I asked about installing Lennox or Trane HVAC systems. With the hindsight information now provided, I am stating that while there was nothing illegal about the installation, if the above information had been provided, it would have made a difference in my choice of HVAC systems that would have been installed and the R22 system would have never been my approved choice. I will never use or recommend Keepin-It-Cool as a reliable HVAC company. This review is based on further information provided after the initial install, and I am only providing the information as an after the fact review updated that was brought to my attention and as I have noted in this review.

He gave a great price, was easy to communicate with, and got us results. We went from a hot house to an ice box! Clearly no one wants their AC to go belly up at the hottest time of summer, but ours did, and The HVAC Doctor resolved the issue for us. We will definitely use their services again as well as refer them to anyone who asks.

This is my second review of this company. As I said in my 06/27/2015 review with an F grade which is a review on another home of mine, not my current home, their awful work continues. In May 2011 they replaced my 14 year old AC unit in my current home. Now, in 2018, another company is replacing the unit installed by A-Plus only after seven (7) years of use. There are a few reasons for the need of a new unit that appear to be at the fault of A-Plus, but probably because that unit is a Rheem; hmm. The Rheem unit came with a 5 year warranty; another hmmm. I'll now have a Carrier unit installed for $800 more and it comes with a 10 year warranty; inflation seems to be on my side or maybe A-Plus just over charges. Bottom line and as I said in my 2015 review, I will never ever use A-Plus again and will share this story with others as I've shared my previous story. I might just call A-Plus customer service to see what they have to say about all of this.

It went very well. Bob and his team not only took care of putting in my new HVAC system but also took out the old air handler system from the crawl space. As he went in he discovered that the previous contractor who replaced the last HVAC system left the old air handler stashed in a corner of my crawl space. Bob and his team: 1. dismantled and took out two air handlers from my crawl space. 2. took out all the old parts and trash that he found in the crawl space, and left the space cleaner than he found it. 3. installed a high-efficiency HVAC (Lennox - Elite) with an air handler with variable speed fan that maintains constant air flow. 4. installed a condensation drain pump, and a high-intensity UV light inside the air handler to prevent mold or bacteria growth. 5. replaced the electric box, all wiring, and freon pipes to the air handler and heat pump. All of these used to sit on the ground, thanks to Bob and his team they no longer do. 6. removed and leveled the concrete slab where the old heat pump used to sit on. 7. installed a "Nest" smart thermostat with wifi capabilities that allows you to control it from your computer or smartphone. I can now raise the thermostat from my bed (using the "Nest" app on my phone). Bob and his team were very polite and courteous. Even though this project took place during a bad weather spell (temps below 32, high winds and sometimes snow/freezing rain), they kept the downtime minimized to one afternoon and part of the early evening, so we didnt have to spend a night without heat at the house. Due to the weather/access difficulties, the project took a week, but I was never without heat, and I am OK with that because I didnt want Bob's personnel to get hurt or sick due to the unforgiving weather conditions. Bob said he will return in April to make sure the A/C is working optimally for the summer. I am very satisfied with Bob Perdue's team excellent service, I highly recommend them.

He knew what he was talking about. He came when he said he would. As it was an emergency, he even came out that night and his wife was in the truck, we appreciated his availability to come out in an emergency time like that. He did a very good job with the repair and we've used him multiple times.

I just had my annual maintenance today on my oil burner. If I have a break down in a year they either fix it free, or reduced price. I cant remember which. Well, they took more stuff apart this time, than they did the previous time. That was good. Im pleased, Im okay. I think the price is a little high. They gave a window between 8 in the morning 1 in the afternoon. I wish it was a tighter window, but they dont do it that way. They do call 20 minutes before they get here, but you know, thats still the whole morning I got to be here. He called me, and said hed be there in 20 minutes, and he was there in 20 minutes.

Outstanding. Called at 7pm and they came the next day at 9am!! The tech was wonderful. He tested things and replaced the two outside fuses. He spoke very well of Olympic Aire and his dedication to them showed in the calmness of his work; he had two more jobs before his flight in two hours! I have used them twice for A/C and have been very impressed.

Went well. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable about the problem. I have had better customer service and more knowledgeable technicians with Choice than with Sears home warranty. Sears monthly cost was more expensive and the customer service was awful. I'm very happy with Choice Warranty.

I got a contract through Sears. They came out Springtime for my system. They don't charge nothing; I paid my service fee for two years and anytime they come out it's free. Mine not up til next year, so I'm good until the end of next year. They come out in the spring and fall. On the responsiveness, they seem pretty good. I've been using them for a while. I bought my furnace through them, and I just added a few things with it. One usually come out unless they have a problem with it, then it's two at one time. They did a good job cleaning up. They're pretty good. They do good work for everything. They do a good job.
