    Roger Hansen Pool Services
courteous owner and employees; did not fully complete services included in pool opening (i.e. heater not inspected); broke drain lid by scrubbing and did not report - then charged to repair; overall disappointing

    HYDRO POOL AND SPA
Do not, I repeat, do NOT use this pool company. They came to my house on May 16th to open our pool for the summer. We had gone to the trouble of having our pool treated mid-season so that it would not be terribly dirty come summer opening. The technicians that came from Hydro Pool said it was one of the cleanest pools they had seen in a long time. They took off the cover, put in a few chemicals and skimmed the top. For this, they charged me $442.00. They spent less than 1 hour, and the pool still looked so bad that I went running after them and asked them to please skim it again. Seriously. After several days, the pool still looked horrible, and come to find out the skimmers were not working. We called and they returned to our house on the 20th. This was a new crew and we were told, the lines are clogged and will need to be blown out or you will need to have them dug up and replaced. It could be a very big job and we do not have time to assess it now. Luckily, they did have time to vacuum the still very dirty pool and charge me another $65. Not trusting this company, (who, btw was supposed to call me back and schedule someone to come look at the supposedly clogged lines but never did) I called Allegro Pool Service. They came first thing Monday morning and low and behold, he was able to fix the skimmer problem in all of about 15 minutes. Seems that the Hydro people had not set the toggle switch properly on the automatic valve. Skimmers working, pool finally cleared. Amazing what competency will accomplish. Poor customer service and clearly these people do not know what they are doing. They do, however, know how to charge a lot of money for nothing.

    POOLTEK
The pool looks brand new......it is 27 years old. They also put a dolphin and beach balls on the bottom (made out of tiles) to show where the pool depth changes. I use this company now to maintain the pool and keep it in good shape. They are very good at keeping problems from happening. It was expensive, but well worth it.

    Aqua Serv LLC
Aqua Serv is terrific to work with. We also use aqua serve to open/close and maintain our pool and spa. Their prices are fair and transparent. They are incredibly responsive, and they always show up right when we they planned to be here. Most importantly, they do a great job of helping us understand our pool. We moved into this home with a pool in October of 2014, so we're new to the pool 'thing'. They have been patient in going over the equipment, its maintenance, what types of things we need and where to purchase them.
We are glad to work with Aqua Serv and will continue to do so!

Aquacrafters Swimming Pool and Spa Service
I sent an email inquiry via Angie's list as to Aquacrafter's (Paul's) ability to do the work. He responded by phone and email withiin a couple of hours and we arranged for the work to be done a day later. He arrived in the afternoon and had work completed/hot tub filled an hour or so later. Would recommend and call again if/when we have a problem with our hot tub!

    Aloha Pool Service
At this point, I've met with Chuck twice and have submitted the bid to my insurance company. He has returned emails and phone calls promptly, and texted me to keep me apprised of what's happening with vendors visiting. His proposal was thorough, he's friendly and knowledgable to work with.
I will review again if his company does the project.

    Mitch's Pool Service
He is a one man company and we love him. He is excellent. The problem is he is one person. He does hire and train some technicians to work with him. He probably has more business than he can handle. He actually did much more than service the pool. He helped design and renovate an old pool which is quiet arduous. He is so knowledgeable. He did such a good job of working our way through this, that I wouldn’t use anyone else. He is quiet capable of redesigning and renovating the pool. He hires out subcontractors to do it. He knows who is good and that’s why I am so pleased with him because there are a lot of not so good pool people there. If someone was hiring a big company to do design work and if they wanted a second opinion he would be well worth consulting. I would always ask Mitch first before I will hire anybody to do anything. He does opening and closing of the pool. The only problem is we never did get a bill from him. We had to call him and ask month’s later saying that we owe him some money. He is very good. If you want to know what he is going to charge you, I guess you would have to ask him. He is no more or less than any other pool person. The landscaping company that we used gave us Mitch’s name. It was a word of mouth. He is so busy it’s hard to catch up with him. He is very punctual but it’s just getting an appointment with him because he has got so much business. He is so popular. He will get to me but I have to be patient if I want to use Mitch.

Hot Tubs & Pool Tables Outlet-Manassas
I was looking for a hot tub to replace my old one. I went to a couple of stores as well as a spa show. I absolutely love the service from Hot Tubs and Pool Outlet! I felt they were very knowledgeable about the hot tubs. They have a variety of manufacturers in their showroom at a variety of prices. They did not try to oversell me. They also sometimes have refurbished tubes. We bought the Hollywood model. I really like that it is made in the USA. They installed it and removed our old tub. After the electrician hooked it up, we had a small problem and they came right out and fixed it. We love it! All of the employees are great. If you want to see a variety of spas and even try them out, give Drew and Greg a call. You won't be disappointed! We

    ALLEGRO POOL SERVICE INC
Last year was our first year owning a house with a pool so we didn't know any different. Long story short we had been telling them that the directions they wrote down for us to work our pool/spa were wrong. They refused to come out and explain it, when we finally got them out after several weeks they told my wife that she wasn't and quot;mechanically inclinedand quot; and that she would never understand it, so to just give up on using the spa because she was too dumb. They never tried to solve the problem. They never tried to explain the problem.
Not only was Dave the owner condescending and a male chauvinist, they did not know how the system worked.
We had a new pool company come out and in 15 minutes explain that we did understand how it was all working, and explained why the spa wasn't working. It was due to incorrect plumbing, which was draining the spa. Dave or his guys never mentioned this once. In addition, we put in a $5000 heater through them last year, and they didn't even service or check it and the new company said it wasn't installed correctly and has had 5 years of stress put on it in one year. Please do not use them. They are not responsive, unprofessional and condescending.

    Spa Solutions
My old Sundance hot tub was going into overheat mode and shutting down.  After a search on Angie's List, I contacted Spa Solutions (via the Message Link).  Joe quickly responded and set up a date to look at my hot tub.  Joe called again prior to coming to let me know he was on the way and arrived at the designated time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the appropriate temperature sensor.
Joe was prompt, very friendly, and obviously very knowledgeable and experienced in spa maintenance.  While I try to fix some things on the spa myself, Spa Solutions (and Joe) are now my go-to guys for fixing my 14-year old spa!
