    Connell, Dr. Marc D.
I had gone to Dr. Connell for a Total Hip Replacement and was told that I'd be away from work for about 5 weeks. 9 weeks post-surgery, I could not walk, my leg was swollen, and in constant pain. I was being treated for a sciatica nerve condition by Dr. Connell for the pain and this turned out to not be the reason for my pain. Then I went to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion from two different orthopedist and was told that my surgical leg was 2 inches shorter than my non-surgical leg. The 3rd orthopedic surgeon I went to, did a hip revision and my legs are the same length. I experienced no paid and am walking. I would never recommend Dr. Connell.

Very efficient once I was called back to the exam room. Spoke with the nurse, then x-Rays, then the doctor came in. He examined me, diagnosed the problem and gave me options for treatment. They also gave me a brace and exercises. The line for payment was long and slow but overall a good experience.

My appointment with Dr. Levin was very close to on time at 1:45 pm.  All the staff was friendly and very helpful.  Dr. Levin took his time to go over all my tests and procedures that other doctors had already preformed and then carefully explained what he thought the next step should be to relieve the constant sciatic nerve pain I have be suffering with for months.  He was very impressive with his knowledge and ability to explain things in layman's terms.

Overall the appointment went well. I was disappointed that the doctor did not review my xray with me (my previous orthopedists did review the xrays). Overall the diagnosis was good and he gave me some medication for the pain.

    Greater Washington Orthopedic Group
I called about a week before the appointment date looking for an Orthopedist that would see me. After trying a couple of companies, I found Washington Orto Group. They have multiple offices so I had to call a couple of times to be able to get their Rockville Office. Seems if Rockville does not answer, the call gets forwarded to Silver Spring. But they cannot take appointments for Rockville. Once I got a hold of somebody at Rockville, I was able to make an appointment.
So I go on the day of my appointment. I show up about 20 minutes early so I can feel out the paperwork since I am a new customer. The first impression I got was from the receptionist. She rolled her eyes when she saw me; she was grunting and puffing as if annoyed by the clients (all 4 of us). I asked her a couple of questions about their insane forms and I the reply came in a prepackaged bark.
Now for the actual doctors consultation, which was more like a speed dating outing than a doctor/patient conversation. I was shown to the exam room and left in the hot room for 20 minute. Then they came for me to get X-rays. Again, the tech was not rude, but certainly far from friendly. Mind you, this is not a gym; its a doctors office. I am not looking to get a birthday party, but I do expect the minimum in customer service, especially when you realize that a 45-minute visit will cost you close to $600.
So, the doctors shows up about 35 minutes after the start of my appointment. Does not show me the x-ray. I am not a Radiologist but I would appreciate the doctor explaining his diagnosis and walk me through what he notices in my X-Ray. After a 10 minute checkup, he gives me three prescriptions and sends me on my way. Of course, being an orthopedist, one the prescription is for physical therapy, the big money maker for Orthopedists. Again, might be valid but since the doctor did not deem it necessary to converse with me, I dont know if its just to make money or its actually needed.
All in all, I am sure the doctor is well qualified but I would not know from the 10 minute one way talk we had. Treat us like customers, not as mentally challenged wallets. In the end, I have to go to another doctor and get a second opinion because I do not trust the diagnosis I received at this facility.

After completing the usual paperwork (no more than other offices) I was seen quickly. They did an initial intake interview and then took Xrays. Dr. Pereles came in shortly thereafter and explained what the Xrays were showing. He was detailed, clear, compassionate and very funny. His confident and flexible manner was very reassuring. He answered all my and my wife's questions and gave me samples of the necessary meds so I wouldn't have to get a prescription filled. He offered me options for treatment (PT, cortisone shots) but didn't push these on me at all and basically said the tear would heal on its own. He provided clear instructions on how to stretch and massage the leg to improve recovery. My wife and I were very happy with the experience, will definitely go back to the practice if we need to, and recommend them happily to others.

I have known Dr. Pereles for years.
I (unfortunately) have needed 3 surgeries, and have had several additional visits with him for cortisone shots. As another doctor in the community, I can not say enough about how personable and thoughtful Dr. Pereles has been with me. He always takes his time to explain every detail about any of my complaints, and is never in a rush to answer questions.
I have had a terrific outcome from my surgeries thanks to his expertise in arthroscopic surgery. He specializes in sports related injuries, and has a special talent in surgery on shoulders and knees. I have recommended many patients and friends to him, and have only received great reports. I've also referred my wife to Dr. Pereles for a chronic shoulder condition. Two other doctors completely missed the diagnosis, and Dr. Pereles immediately saw on the MRI that she had a frozen shoulder. After 10 minutes of a manipulation under anesthesia, my wife's shoulder was gone forever.
Needless to say, I will continue to see Dr. Pereles in the future, and highly recommend him to anyone.

    Polun, Dr. Franklin R.
After were squeezed in , there was a small wait, but that was to be expected when you are brought in the same day with out an appointment. Dr Polun came in and immediately diagnosed my daughter's painful toe as ingrown and explained to us what needed to be done. After administering lidocaine shots to her toe he then returned and surgically corrected the toe.
Later , he came back with his nurse and measured for her inserts.

    Stephen Rockower MD,FAAOS
Overall, my opinion of Dr. Rockower and his medical practice and staff are that they are horrible: in my opinion, his office staff are the worst. Typically, after a long wait, Dr. Rockower will breeze in and out of appointments and barely say two words to me unless he was trying to solicit me to work with his son--it almost seemed to me like he wasnt really treating me but was merely trying to do the bare minimum to justify an office visit charge to my insurance and then shuffled me off to the physical therapists who are also part of his practice. I fired him after I requested a two page summary of my recent billing charges and his office tried to force me to pay almost $50 for it. Outrageous gouging. I absolutely do not recommend Dr. Rockower or his medical practice COR.

I had seen Dr. Rockower for a couple years for back issues and finally for a car accident after a drunk driver hit me. In my opinion, his office staff are the worst.
