  • TL;DR Version: This company is horribly managed, the dispatcher does not communicate properly, if you do not get through to her on their 240 number call her on the 716 number that she contacts you through. Expect to wait a long time for simple service to be accomplished. Like the other review, I also had a home warranty with HMS that the seller of my property offered as part of my home purchase. We contacted HMS when our dishwasher stopped working, and HMS referred us to K&G Appliances. K&G's scheduler contacted us a few days later to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out. I asked the scheduler if she would like the make and model of our unit and she declined with an explanation that they usually come out, inspect the issue, order parts, and return soon thereafter to complete the repairs. This seemed reasonable, however the "soon thereafter" part was a complete and total lie. The tech came and visited with us, and K&G ordered parts the same day. They texted me a tracking number to track the progress of the parts. The parts arrived quickly, and I did not hear from K&G. I tried contacting them right after they arrived and their number directed me to a voicemail. I left a message, and no return call. Three days later, another message and no return call. Five more days later, and no return call. Finally, I received a call from a different number than what I originally dialed (I believe a 716 area code), with a message that they were waiting on an additional part and they would get back to me when they received it. The caller asked that I call their original line and not her 716 number. Following her directions, I called the regular line to request tracking information for the additional part and did not receive a return call. Several days later, I called again to ask for an update, and, not surprisingly, they did not return my call. Noticing a pattern folks? I called one more time and finally I got a return call on a Wednesday. The operator said they scheduled someone to come by my house Thursday, the very next day. She did not ask about my availability and seemed surprised when I told her I could not be available to meet the technician at my house. I have a job with limited leave, I need a little more notice to schedule things with my boss. I got her to agree to reschedule for Friday, and I arranged to take off to meet the technician between 1 and 5pm. The technician never came. I got a call at the end of the day explaining that they could not locate the parts they ordered for me, and they would need to check a different truck or reorder the parts. I was livid! They knew at the beggining of my time window that they did not have the parts, so why wait until the end of the day. More time passed and about a month after they initially came out to my house I began calling them daily. I found that the operator was very slow to respond to voicemails on the 240 line, so I began calling her directly on the 716 number she used every time she called me. She seemed annoyed, but I did not care--they were not being responsive. Once the parts they re-ordered came in, she again played the same game of calling me and telling me when I needed to be home to meet the technician. I explained that I was not going to take off anymore work for this job, and kindly requested that they come on a weekday when I did not have work. She agreed, but refused to provide me with a time window for the technicians arrival. Frustratingly, the technician showed up at my house on the day she initially shared with me when I was not home. He left the parts on our front stoop. I called the operator for clarification, and she said it was a mistake on her part and the tech would come on the date we originally agreed to. I pressed her for some assurance that this would not be an issue again, and asked once more for a specific time frame. She was able to provide a 1 to 4pm time frame. The tech finally arrived on our agreed upon date, nearly 6 weeks after we initially spoke with them, and replaced the small parts for the dishwasher. What an ordeal!

  • We have had maintenance contracts with the same well established/well known company for over 30+ yrs. None of those semi-annual visits were as thorough as Raphael's from Anthony and Son. He explained what he was doing, made suggestions to extend life of compressor, cleaned out debris, etc. Just very professional and thorough.

  • They did okay. They were friendly enough, but the installation is set up is difficult to get to the filter and stuff like that. I saw the bill, but my deductible was really cheap since it was an insurance thing. Essentially, it is under $600 a year and when you make a call it is $100 for the service, it's like a co pay, so that covers everything. So, for that, it is great, but they don't replace it with top of the line and if you want to take the cash to buy something else, it's a really low amount. Like if I wanted something more efficient, it would cost a lot more. They are a good price. The quality varies, because they use different people all the time. We did get somebody within a day or two. It's not like they came out the same day or anything. They did clean up after themselves and things like that. I got the impression that it's a smaller company and everyone was sort of related and they wanted to sell some additional services, but that was it. Everything else was fine.

  • The repair work went very smoothly. All I had to do was put in a claim with Choice Home Warranty on their website. They took care of contacting a repair service and letting them know what work was needed. CHW then contacted me to let me know who would be handling the repair and gave me the choice of waiting for them to call me to schedule or I could call them to schedule. It took one phone call between me and Emergency Appliance Repair to schedule the service. The repairman came to the house the next day. He took the dryer apart and found the cause of the problem. There was a broken part. He had the part with him on his truck, replaced the broken one with the new one and put everything back together. The repair was done quickly, professionally and with no problems. The repairman even cleaned out the dryer from old lint. Great job all around with great service from CHW.

  • What stands out is that they are available 24 hours a day. It's either they call me or I call the person and I usually have service within 2 or 3 days. They just raised the copay from $95 to $99. Everything was fine. They were pretty responsive. The group that came over was good.

  • They told me that  due to rust they will not cover this claim.  I have United Air Temp for years come out and do a cleaning on my system and they were just out.  They did not report any leaks either.  I think this company is very crooked  and will try anything to get out of covering a claim.  I had just joined up and this was my first claim with them.  It was an eye opener so I quickly asked for my money back.  They kept about 90.00 and 50.00 for getting out of the contract.  I lost money but I'm glad not to be with a home warranty company that is crooked.  DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

  • The is American Home Shield which is a sourcing company for home appliance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs.  I have used them when I have a problem and they send someone to fix my issue at a flat fee.  There is no extra cost even if they must come back and parts are included.  The have been excellent.  The people they send are usually from a national company and the work gets done with no problem.  I have had them for many years and I would not own a home without their plan.

  • I've had them for more than three years and in that time I've had nothing but problems and frustrations. It's more hassle than it's worth. I have filed multiple claims for multiple different issues and every time they come out its a hassle to deal with or get anything pushed through. Their representatives on the phone are not very helpful or friendly. Many of their texts they send out are negative towards the company as well. Not only home owners but contractors too complain about not getting paid or claims getting filed.

  • I had been using them for years and they dropped me without giving me a reason.  I would not recommend them to anybody, they used to have quality companies working for them but they started to drop off quickly.

  • I spent about $ 60 and that’s the deal. If I have a problem with anything, they charge me $ 60 for the service call. Whatever they find they cover it. I had an air conditioning handle that was not working and they replaced it. The service was good, extremely good because it’s got to be at least $ 2000 or $ 3000 for the repair. They don’t come right away and they are supposed to respond within 48 hrs. I would use them again in the future.
