  • Just fine. Always nice when you have the business owner come out. Don and Carlos took care of the problem. Don did a fine job of explaining everything and answering all my questions. Carlos was a natural up there on the roof. He cleaned the gutters and took photos so I could see for myself the issues I had. I'm hoping to upgrade and get my gutters working like they are supposed to. Don is giving me an itemized estimate to help me make my decision for the next step.

  • WOW! What an experience. I usually shrug off all companies that knock on the door but on that day I decided to take the free estimate. After meeting with Miguel I felt as if I would give them a shot at the project. The install went absolutely perfect and the job finished within 2 days for Windows/siding/gutters. Overall I am very impressed and would absolutely chose them again in the future.

  • The gutters were installed improperly. The guy who came out for the estimate was really great and was easy to work with but the people that actually came out and did the work didn't speak English and were difficult to communicate with. They damaged the roof. The removed a vent pipe leaving a hole in the roof which leaked after they left. Then they didn't take responsibility for it. They came out and fixed it and then wanted to charge me additional services after I just paid $12000 for the roof. It took them 2 weeks to refund me $3000 overcharge on a credit card. They were not great to deal with. I would not use them again. I suggest having a single point of contact and take responsibility for a project.

  • Everyone we dealt with from American Home Contractors was skilled and professional. They are large enough to have good systems and personnel in place to handle every detail efficiently. I highly recommend them.
    We bought a deal for a gutter inspection and repair in June, and ACC sent someone out to do the job. While checking the attic for gutter leaks, he noticed that actually, we had several split rafters, and the rest were seriously bowed. The rafters were original to our 102 year old house. After completing the gutter work, he asked if we wanted him to send out their insurance claims expert. We said sure.
    Matt was great. I am extremely adverse to being "sold" on something, especially when I'm in a situation where professionals know more about a problem than I do, so my guard was up, but Matt was friendly, direct, and helpful. He inspected the attic/roof himself (I went with him), then took  his time explaining everything, pausing for questions, giving options. He was very familiar with how the homeowners claim process would work, and offered advice. Even though I know everyone says to get multiple bids on such a big job, we signed a preliminary contract with him right away, in which he agreed to negotiate with our insurance company on our behalf to get the best settlement, if we agreed to hire ACC to do the job for whatever settlement amount he got. It was a total win/win, and I have zero regrets.
    Matt was present for the claims inspection and the engineer's inspection, advocating for details I would never have thought of. When we finally got our settlement, Matt came to the house and went through it line by line with us, to make sure we understood exactly what was being covered and what wasn't. We decided to add a few upgrades and paid for those out of pocket, but otherwise, we never had to deal with insurance or billing or any nickle-and-diming at all. When the actual job ran into a few unexpected problems requiring more supplies and crew, Matt told us not to worry, that  he would work with the insurance company directly. Cost overruns came out of ACC's profit, not our pocket--they were true to their word about doing the job for whatever they could get our insurance company to pay. It was a huge relief!!
    The contractor and crew who replaced the roof were fantastic. It was a really tricky project from an engineering perspective, with some not-insignificant hazards for the crew. They were also not positive they could save our original dormer window, but when I said it was a priority for me, they made it happen. They just brought in more guys, and ended up building us an attic floor (so the guys could work safely) and double-sistering every rafter--again, at no additional cost or hassle to us. Amazingly, they completed the entire tear-down and re-build in 3 days, and left our yard and driveway cleaner than it was when they got there. Our new attic and roof are beautiful, up to code, and safe.
    I also want to mention that I am a woman, married to a woman, and we were treated with total respect by every single person we dealt with. I don't hesitate to recommend ACC.

  • It went really well.  It was very straight forward.  They did a great job.  I had a spot on my roof where it was flat and they sort of graded down so that the water could drain off better.  Really transparent.  Pretty quick about doing the job.

  • I am very satisfied with  American Home Contractors and their Roof Technician Howard Shires. I am so glad I took advantage of their Angie's List Big Deal for a gutter tune up.  They contacted me quickly and I was able to get a convenient appointment .  Howard was very personable.  He was friendly and got to work quickly.  He was focused on the job at hand and gave me a great assessment of the condition of my roof, attic and gutters.  He seemed very honest to me...and let me know that the overall condition of all these items was very good?.and he explained why.  I liked that.  But I did need his services to clean out a big section of my gutter and down spouts, which he did.  In addition he caulked all the corner joints of my gutters. He also made a few recommendations that I could do myself: remove, insulate and seal the attic fan to support the designed air flow of the soffits and ridge vent and replace the miscellaneous hardware used with zip screws to hold the downspouts in place against the house.  He stayed engaged with me throughout, answering questions I had and letting me know what he was doing.  He took pictures from the roof so I could see the condition of the gutters he cleaned out.  The whole appt took a little over an hour.  I felt more knowledgeable when he left and very satisfied that the Big Deal took care of exactly what my house needed.

  • I purchased a deal from this company and submitted my preferred schedule. When the company failed to contact me, I contacted them. They told me the deal I had purchased only applied to new gutter installation, not existing gutter cleaning and repair. Thus, they performed no work and I was issued a refund.

  • FOR YEARS THE GUTTER OVER MY WHITE STEPS HAS NOT REMAINED ON THE BUBBLE. IT THEREFORE COLLECTED WATER AND ATTRACTED BIRDS WHICH LEFT DROPPINGS ON MY WHITE STEPS. BECAUSE OF AGE AND HEALTH ISSUES IT HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO KEEP STEPS SPARKLING CLEAN. THIS SO CALLED CALLED SOLUTION IS MY CREATION. HOPE IT WORKS EFFECTIVELY. SINCE IT WAS A SMALL PROJECT WAS REFERRED BY CAPITOL ROOFING A COMPANY I USED PREVIOUSLY
