Kirk the craftsman that was sent to me was very professional, punctual, took time to explain what was being done, and took good care of the space he was working in. The original work request involved fixing a small water stain on the ceiling. Upon removing that we discovered the problem was and A/C duct that was disconnected. This involved removing another small piece of drywall and reattaching the vent. The ceiling was then patched. There was also a broken hinge on a kitchen cabinet that needed repair. My first problem was with the amount of time this process took. Things moved very slowly. The first day, a hole was cute where the original leak was. That is all that was done and I was charged $135. The second day a second hole was cut and the vent was repaired. This process involved the craftsman going to Home depot to get extra supplies which took two hours. I was charged for all of this time in addition to the supplies. This is not to mention that some basic supplies were not brought by the craftsman in the first place such as extra drop cloths, a flashlight, a paint tray, brush etc. I would think these would be standard things to have on hand that I would not have to pay for or pay for time for them to be bought. The air vent was fixed and the ceiling was patched perfectly. However the paint that was used did not match the paint that was there, so I am now stuck having to repaint the entire ceiling to match. Lastly the kitchen cabinet was only half finished (a piece of wood was replaced). Due to a hinge being broken and another trip to home depot to only find that they do not carry the hinge, the job was not finished. I had to order the hinge online and will have to finish repairing the cabinet myself. After 3 days of work for 2 simple problems neither of which are completely resolved I was presented with a bill of $1,420. I feel an unreasonably high price for the small amount of (incomplete) work that was done. Had I used another company or even done the work myself, It could have been completed in much less time and expense.

Hiring Kargmans Inc. was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Not only did they do in my opinion inferior work, but I believe they have questionable business and ethical practices. It took the company four months to complete a job that should have been completed in two weeks. I had to continually complain about the workers and the quality of their work. I had to complain to the company because of destruction of my property, intoxication on the job, and invasion of my privacy. I caught one worker rummaging through my stored belongings. Another worker used my smooth top electric range as a work bench. I purchased materials from Kargmans and most of the prices were greatly inflated. I did not find out about their price gouging until the end of the project because they would only give me a proposal sheet and not an itemized bill or invoice. I requested felt as the hardwood flooring underlay and the workers put down paper. The labor fee for the hardwood flooring was more than twice the cost of the flooring itself even though most of the furniture was removed from my first floor before the workers started the job. The 790 square feet area in which they laid the flooring was only the first level of my house which consisted of five rooms and a straight hallway that lead from the front door to the kitchen. The workers did not follow the manufactures installation guide for the installation of two assembled patio doors, so as a result they had to try and rectify what was done incorrectly which caused even further delay. The workers did not know how to put the locks on the door and a technician from the door manufacture had to fix the locks properly. Insulation which should have been applied during the doors’ installation process was spray between the cracks after the doors had been installed and stained. The molding had to be removed for the spray foam insulation to be applied.  I took pictures and had security video cameras that the workers appeared to be unaware of during the time the work was being done at my house.  My evidence of inferior work was the only way that the company was compelled to redo much of the work that they were hired to do. I was unaware of how inflated their prices were until the end of the project when I was finally given the invoices and downloaded warranties. The holding of the invoices, I truly believe was intentional because of their (in my estimation) unethical practices. The invoices, manufactures’ warranties, and installation guides were request by me when the flooring and doors were purchased and the company did not comply with my request. I asked for this information for a total of seven times five of which were in writing. I had to find the installation guides, warranties, and care and maintenance information on line during the four months it took to complete which should have been two weeks, at the most three weeks of work at my house. I do not recommend Kargmans because I feel that I was scammed.

Lloyd arrived on time and went right to work. Once demolition was completed he explained what needed to be done and completed the work, including painting and removal of discarded materials. I was very pleased with the outcome. While they were here I asked for estimates for some additional work. I will likely use them again and  recommend them without hesitation.

I just had to give another review of the great work of Lloyd and Sabrina.  I felt treated like a friend and not just a customer.  They were on time, professional,  and completed the work in a timely manner.  I feel confident and am excited that I have a trustworthy team I can call when I need handyman services.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

I was disappointed. Decided to call a contractor from Angie's List after a big box store said they could only install steel and not fiberglass doors. Company website states that they do all size jobs including door installation. After several call attempts, finally spoke with John. He stated that the big box store didn't know what they were doing and he could handle it. John provided measurements for me to purchase the doors and after questions arose about his measurements, he wanted to remove existing door molding (for an additional fee) to get a more precise measurement. When questioned about his experience with door installation, he stated that he had done door installs in remodels where he does the framing and wasn't comfortable with working with existing framework. John was to call me back about the other work. I'm still waiting for his call, it has been over a month. Said he was working on things at his own house, so I guess that's what was most important to him.

There was no hesitation in repairing these items. You can't tell the difference between the original and the replacement items. Their painting services completed the task.

I was very impressed with all the work completed.  It was a relief finding an honest, talented contractor that put my concerns first when completing my project.
