    Worldwide Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
The person who handled the apt, summer sanders, set up was very unprofessional. She made promises that our estimator would be out to make the assessment but he didnt even show up. Very unprofessional.

Mixing Bowl Contracting, HVAC, Plumbing, Electric
Great! I called the # listed here on Angie's List and left a msg. Then I also did some digging online and found another # for My Hunny Do and reached John. Both numbers connected to him, but it turns out that Angie's List masks/blocks the company's # here on this website - not sure why, and neither did John, so he asked that I notify Angie's List about that, which I did. Angie's List responded to say they are looking into the issue. I then emailed John the list of items I needed serviced/repaired and requested service within the next few days. He texted me over the weekend to confirm the service appointment for 10/9/17 between 8-9am. Joel arrived on time and we walked through the house to review the list of items that John had passed along to him. After a quick trip to Home Depot to get a few items, he got to work and successfully completed everything within 2-2.5 hours. I am very happy with the work performed and would definitely hire them again. I also was able to use the 10% Angie's List discount, so the original estimate of $750 resulted in a final cost of $675.

Anthony's Construction Concrete & Masonry Inc
The contractor arrived on site on July 10, 2017 and did not have a copy of the signed contract. They were to install a drain pipe to avoid water around the concrete. When I brought this to their attention, they called Victor and then they made a trip to home depot. Then they were supposed to dig 8 inches down, lay down three inches of rocks, and cover that with five inches of cement. After removing the old sidewalk, the trench was only 5 inches deep. They did not dig at all. They were about to lay 5 inches of concrete without laying three inches of rocks down first. When I brought this to their attention, they got angry at me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. After calling Victor, they dug down another 3 inches, went to Home Depot, and brought some rocks and laid the rocks down. They also used my water to mix the cement and this was not noted in the contract. By not having all of the material to complete the job, this caused a delay in completing the sidewalk. A one day project turned into a 2 day project. The next day the contractor arrived on site to resurface the steps with the stoop. In resolution, the job got done. I just want to bring to your attention what I had to endure it order to get the job done.

F H Furr Plumbing Heating AC & Electrical
The plumbing tech, Osmin Marcia, provided exceedingly courteous and efficient service today. I was impressed with Osmin's knowledge and expertise of the job and his attention to detail where I felt completely at ease as he began the work all the way thru its completion. I appreciated the fact that he changed his shoe covers every time he re-entered the house and cleaned up all work areas when the job was complete. Considering the amount of work involved because of my older home, I believe the price was fare. Will definitely use F.H.Furr in the future. Thanks for sending Osmin. Will highly recommend!!

    Michael Albarelli
Mike and his helper Mark Ivins came out and gave me an estimate along with many promises for work to be completed in the time frame needed as well as how neat and clean they would be. Mike praised Mark's ability to do the demo and tile work and assured me he was a perfectionist. Mark turned out to be very unreliable, not showing up many days and working only a couple of hours when he did show up. Mike abandoned the job half way through without telling me and leaving the plumbing finishing to Mark, which he didn't know how to do. After the job went a week over schedule, it was left with many parts unfinished and looking terrible (drywall, tile, electrical, etc.). After the first time Mark came back to "fix" the issues, he made some worse, including creating a fire hazard in the light switch box, which I discovered the next day after he was again a no show and I started looking more closely at the details. Mike did not believe me that the job had so many issues, personally insulted me, then told me he didn't even want the job, and refused to come look at my concerns. The bathroom remains unfinished and the cracks in the grout between the walls and the floor are quite large and there's a crack down the corner of the shower wall (tile) now too. And a crack in the drywall between the old and new. The new paint is peeling because it wasn't primed. The door was damaged and will need to be replaced. I think you get the idea. It will all have to be redone again to the cost of at least $7000. Do not considering hiring Mike or you'll regret it.

    Always Plumbing
He gave me a verbal quote, but I had requested it in writing. We finally got the written estimate yesterday (4 days later). I also requested pictures of the problem, and still have not received those. The quote was $900, which he requires me to pay up front, cash or check only, and the check must clear before he even starts the work. I would beware to all homeowners who are thinking about using this company.

Jimmy Gusky Heating & Air LLC
Provider missed two appointments without calling to cancel. The first crew that came to my house thought they were working on the A/C. Then I had to reschedule for another week after waiting for that crew all day. Workers were courteous and professional once they were finally scheduled correctly. I am pleased with the toilet.

    Nice Home Services
They were expensive. I paid $400 and that was ridiculous! They were here for about half an hour. My tub still backs up somewhat and we have to use a plunger. I would never use them again. There were here on time but what good is that if the job isn't great.

I had never done a renovation of this scale before and was very nervous.  From the beginning Gary and Jenny were great!I received quotes from three companies (two from Angie's List and one from another source).  The condition of the house was horrible (it had been rented out and neglected for about 25 years), but Gary and Jenny focused on the potential of the house, which I appreciated since that was not my experience with all of the companies.  Their quote was the middle of the three and seemed the most realistic for what I needed and wanted.  Gary is a trained plumber and Jenny has a great eye for design, so they were able to make suggestions and point out issues I had completely missed.  This is a great team!  Although we went about 25% over budget (due to several hidden problems in the house,  an EXTREMELY *thorough* inspector and me changing my mind about things as we went along), they were conscious of my financial limitations and made every attempt to save money when possible.  Initially, the job was projected to take about 8 weeks, I believe.  However, it took about 4.5 months.  Again, this was due to issues with permits (if I had one complaint, it would be that I wish we had gotten the permits earlier) and other concerns.  In fact, even when Gary and Jenny became ill, their workers still progressed as expected.  Gary and Jenny truly went above and beyond what I expected as a newbie to the renovation experience. Their team was great too - especially Mauricio, Will, Dee and Jose!!
So, details about some of the jobs.
    1.  Kitchen - completely gutted to the studs.  New subfloors - HardieBacker, tile floors, a beautiful tile backsplash, granite counters, new cabinets, sink, insulation in the walls, a ceiling fan, and lighting, recessed lighting, new gas lines and partial new ceiling.  This job also required extensive electrical work.  Furthermore, the walls around the kitchen were torn down and built back up for a half wall capped by granite.
    2.  Master bathroom - completely gutted to the studs.  New subfloors - HardieBacker, tile floors and shower walls, granite counters, new cabinets, sinks, an extra deep tub, new lighting, electrical work, and new floor joists (they actually had to have the furnace taken down and rebuilt to put the joists in.. don't ask).
    3.  Master bedroom - floor coming off the bathroom had rotted.  They were able to do some patching in order to save me from having to replace all of the wood in the room.
    4.  Basement - two small rooms converted to one large living space.  Laminate was not my first choice, but again Gary and Jenny found a great option for me.  This was my biggest leap of faith... Three new sump pumps.  Completely framed with fire blocking as required by inspector.
    5.  Guest bathroom - disgusting... I have no idea as to whether it was functioning before.  Now it is absolutely GORGEOUS!  My favorite space.  converted from half bath to 3/4 bath.  Gary BUILT the shower.  Beautiful (I wish there was a way to add pictures).
    6.  Outside - power washed and trims painted.  I'll get more done later:)  The guys also installed lighting and new address numbers.
Definitely hire Innovative Home Improvements, you won't be disappointed!!
