    Remodel USA
This so-called employee of Remodel USA called me after seeing my request for a bid for bathroom remodeling. This is a gift for my elderly parents - I am requesting the bids, I am paying for the project. She insisted that she speak to the homeowners as well. I told her that she did not have to involve them, they would be at the home when the initial assessment is done, etc. She said she needed to check with her manager about that. She thought she placed me on hold - she didn't. I got to hear her talk to her 'manager' where she called me a ***** and said that the home had two 'old people'. Are you kidding me? As if I would now EVER TRUST REMODEL USA in my parent's home? If this person is representative of Remodel USA, beware! Lousy experience from the first telephone call!

    KBR Kitchen & Bath
After interviewing many companies and contractors (approximately 12), I decided to entrust the Bethesda office of KBR Kitchen and Baths with my project. The designer that I worked with, Cathy Harvey, presented me with a design and project budget that broke down all of the elements of the project. I knew exactly what I was getting and what I was paying for. As someone who works in contracting and procurement, I was very nervous about cost overruns and change orders. Cathy made sure that changes were minimal and due only to last minute design changes. The project director was Adam and the project team lead was Grover. They did an amazing job. Before the project started, the owner, the designer, project director and project lead all came by for a walk through. Adam set up a GroupMe group including me and the project team and communicated details about the project so I was always informed about what was going to be happening during the day. It was quite comforting for me to know that I could reach the entire team with a quick text. I cant say enough about Grover and John and all of the workers. When I initially started thinking about remodeling my kitchen, I struggled with the idea that I would need to take off from work to babysit contractors. In the end, I decided to take off the first three days of the project and my significant other and I decided that one of us would go in late each day (around noon) and the other would come home early each day. After meeting Grover and being home for two days, I decided that I didnt need to be home and that I could trust them in my home and cancelled my leave plans. (I get to take a summer vacation. Yipppee!) During the remodel, which included replacing my kitchen subfloor, Grover noticed a few issues (unforeseen site conditions) that were addressed (some without additional cost to me.) In the end, they delivered a project that was much better than I could have ever imagined. I would definitely recommend KBR. And did I mention that the project was substantially completed in three (3) weeks???!!!!??? I still cant believe it. After three weeks, there were only minor punch list items, that KBR promptly completed. By that time, I had already moved back into my beautiful, fully functioning kitchen. Thank you, KBR!

    ABC Remodeling Contractors
Over a period of three weeks, I gave ABC Remodeling three calls leaving a message with each one, and also sent an email to them asking for a response. It is now about a month later and still no response. Worst yet, I sent an email to Angie's List to reimburse my $99 and no response from them either. My rating of an F reflects the lack of response and professionalism. Unfortunately this is becoming more and more common in the service industry.

    Millennium Concrete & Construction Corp.

Millennium Concrete and Construction, Inc. did a marvelous job on my home. We had two projects going at once. 1) Kitchen remodel which included beautiful intall of new cabinetry, granite countertops, and laminateflooring. They did a beautifl job in a short time. They are "Top Shelf" for sure and we decided to go ahead and finish, 2) the Club Basement which included the install of masonry around the fireplace, a masonry wet bar (so beautiful),and hanging drywall, and final -- the paint. Millennium finished the rough-in bathroom for the basement which was not included in the original contract for an additional $400, so I am not complaining - this included the install of the flooring!

I highly recommend them to anyone that needs any kind of remodel - will NOT get this kind of quality work forthe more than reasonablePRICE. We are very pleased! Now that the kitchen is so beautiful and we have the beautiful recreation/entertainment spaces, I feel the rest of my home wants a new paint job. Wink-Wink,I will definately hire them back here for that!!!!

    Thank you Millennium!!

    American Bath LLC

My vision for my bathroom was to have new tile, sink, toilet, and have a bench in the shower, but to have this I had to have a wall built in the bathroom, new mirror with a light fixture over the mirror and paint the bathroom. When I say transformation that's what it was.  Okay on February 8th I met Jasen and Matt (oh by the way they were on time)... Jasen explained everything to me. He went back over what Ron and I had discussed, about what was going to be done to the bathroom and he told me that it will take two weeks to complete. Jasen told me that he will be taking everything out of the bathroom and replacing it with new things and  retiling the floor, then he was going to paint. He explained everything to me all the way down to the knobs on the faucet.  Jasen said once they start taking everything out that him and Matt will clean up after themselves (which they did every day). There was no mess left behind...Yayyyy...He also said when the job was completed that they would remove everything off of the premises that they had taken out of the bathroom.. (Which they did). Okay so they started working on the bathroom. I left and came back. The walls were the transformation had started. Jasen kept me abreast of every step of the way with this new project. If there were new pipes that had to be installed or whatever it was he made sure I knew of it. He did not hide nothing. Just to let you know this was an old, very old house. The next day I believe the tub was gone..yall i didnt have a tub. Every day Jasen and Matt made sure that the goal was to complete this project in two weeks. They had a lot to do just because the house is an old house. Friday, the last day of that week everything was gone. The following week came, I could not believe my eyes. The wall was put up, the bottom of the shower was put in, tile was put up, the walls were painted, medicine cabinet put in, sink, faucets everything was done. I was in awe. I couldn't believe my eyes. My vision was completed. I wish they could have remodeled my whole house. If there is any bathroom remodeling that I would ever need done again, I will not hesitate in recommending this company. I will definitely ask for Jasen and Matt. You guys are the best and I greatly appreciate everything that you have done to my bathroom. THANK YOU AMERICAN BATH FAMILY.

I had never done a renovation of this scale before and was very nervous.  From the beginning Gary and Jenny were great!I received quotes from three companies (two from Angie's List and one from another source).  The condition of the house was horrible (it had been rented out and neglected for about 25 years), but Gary and Jenny focused on the potential of the house, which I appreciated since that was not my experience with all of the companies.  Their quote was the middle of the three and seemed the most realistic for what I needed and wanted.  Gary is a trained plumber and Jenny has a great eye for design, so they were able to make suggestions and point out issues I had completely missed.  This is a great team!  Although we went about 25% over budget (due to several hidden problems in the house,  an EXTREMELY *thorough* inspector and me changing my mind about things as we went along), they were conscious of my financial limitations and made every attempt to save money when possible.  Initially, the job was projected to take about 8 weeks, I believe.  However, it took about 4.5 months.  Again, this was due to issues with permits (if I had one complaint, it would be that I wish we had gotten the permits earlier) and other concerns.  In fact, even when Gary and Jenny became ill, their workers still progressed as expected.  Gary and Jenny truly went above and beyond what I expected as a newbie to the renovation experience. Their team was great too - especially Mauricio, Will, Dee and Jose!!
So, details about some of the jobs.
    1.  Kitchen - completely gutted to the studs.  New subfloors - HardieBacker, tile floors, a beautiful tile backsplash, granite counters, new cabinets, sink, insulation in the walls, a ceiling fan, and lighting, recessed lighting, new gas lines and partial new ceiling.  This job also required extensive electrical work.  Furthermore, the walls around the kitchen were torn down and built back up for a half wall capped by granite.
    2.  Master bathroom - completely gutted to the studs.  New subfloors - HardieBacker, tile floors and shower walls, granite counters, new cabinets, sinks, an extra deep tub, new lighting, electrical work, and new floor joists (they actually had to have the furnace taken down and rebuilt to put the joists in.. don't ask).
    3.  Master bedroom - floor coming off the bathroom had rotted.  They were able to do some patching in order to save me from having to replace all of the wood in the room.
    4.  Basement - two small rooms converted to one large living space.  Laminate was not my first choice, but again Gary and Jenny found a great option for me.  This was my biggest leap of faith... Three new sump pumps.  Completely framed with fire blocking as required by inspector.
    5.  Guest bathroom - disgusting... I have no idea as to whether it was functioning before.  Now it is absolutely GORGEOUS!  My favorite space.  converted from half bath to 3/4 bath.  Gary BUILT the shower.  Beautiful (I wish there was a way to add pictures).
    6.  Outside - power washed and trims painted.  I'll get more done later:)  The guys also installed lighting and new address numbers.
Definitely hire Innovative Home Improvements, you won't be disappointed!!

    KBR Kitchen & Bath

The finished product is great.  A company with integrity and exceptional customer service.

KBR Kitchen & Bath did a complete renovation of my kitchen and bath.

After dealing with all the obstacles, frustration, tears and choosing an incompetent project manager I was fed up with everything associated remodeling.

However, the company kept their commitment to me.

Any issues that came were addressed at once and the staff was very professional and went out of their way to see that my desires were met to my satisfaction.  I am very impressed with KBR Kitchen & Bath as a company and its? integrity in keeping the company?s philosophy about old fashion customer service.

The staff (Armagan, Erhan and Burak) at the Bethesda location was always accessible and friendly. Any questions that came up they would definitely address it and resolve it.

The crew members who worked on the project were extremely helpful, very responsive to my questions, and a pleasure to work with. I couldn?t be more elated with the final results of the project, which I am grateful to Sergio who is a talented, hard worker, and possess high ethical standards.

In sum, Armagan and Sergio was a pleasure to work with, turning a stressful situation into a positive an experience.

I would recommend KBR Kitchen & Bath to family, friends and anyone out there who are looking for any remodeling work.

KBR Kitchen & Bath is a customer service extraordinaire business.

    Drain Surgeon Plumbing & Heating
It went fairly well.  I say fairly because the drywall wasn't done as expertly and I would have liked.  Also, it took a couple weeks for them to come clean up.  They simply quoted me a price for the job, but could not break it down for how the $200 would be taken off so they did not take it off of this job and will let me use it at a later time.  So much water had been leaking that they replaced the wall downstairs and that is when they discovered the leak in the main pipe.

Tim was always professional and very prompt and knowledgable. I appreciated that he began and ended the work as promised. And he was always very thoughtful, courteous and professional. If you want good, quality work done, you should save yourself a lot of time and trouble dealing with contractors that don't deliver, and contact Tim Murray. I would defintely hire him again and exactly plan on it as I work on other home projects this fall!
