    Rockville Lock & Key
The service was great. The Technician was friendly and professional. I heard a lot of horror stories about locksmiths in the past. But I can honestly say that Rockville Lock and Key is a company I would strongly recommend to anyone.

Bought a big deal. Thought that would cover the cost, but it did not. Thought the extra charge was more than it should have been. Apparently the deal was only for the service call and did not cover any of the labor. I supplied my own lock.

He showed up half an hour early, before I got home. My husband met him at the door.
The guy took one look at the lock we wanted to install and said it was a garbage brand, that we should install a better lock (mind you this is a $100 lock from Home Depot). Then he asked for $150 for the visit, said he would find us a better lock, and left before I arrived home.
My husband, not realizing I'd sent the guy a photo of the lock we wanted installed in advance, had no idea that he should have protested. I came home to discover that the guy had already left, we were out $150, and we had no new lock.
A week passed, and the guy never got back in touch with us regarding recommendations for a new lock. I texted him and asked when he would be back to us with a new lock. "Tomorrow," he says. That was 3 days ago. Radio silence.
So $150 for nothing. Even with all the advance preparations.

    Mike's Locksmith & Security
Everything seems to be working fine. There was a bit of a language problem, he was very nice, but I felt that he didn't quite understand what I was saying. However, he fixed it, he was on time for the appointment, and the price was reasonable.

Prompt and professionalism in estimate and service.  Price was higher than I thought it would have been.  He did convince me that the locks were of a higher quality than home improvement store locks.

    Mike's Locksmith & Security
We recently moved into our house and the previous owner had rekeyed the locks for the new buyer and they were crap (less than a month after moving in the front door deadbolt wouldn't accept any of the keys). I selected Mike's based on his positive Angie's list recommendations and wasn't disappointed. Called on a Friday morning and he came on Sunday (I work full time so I appreciate that he has extended/weekend hours). He didn't have exactly what we wanted on his truck so he made a trip to the shop to get it. Everything was finished in under two hours. Very pleasant and professional. We will probably upgrade one or more of the doors in the future, and he said he could return to remove and reinstall the locks when we do that. His fees may be a bit higher than others, but I view these locks as an investment - what's that saying about getting what you pay for?

We scheduled to meet at noon and Mike called to say he could come early (about 11:20) which was good for me. He was prompt and professional. He took care of re-keying the two locks and provided me with the two keys.
I would use his services again.

    American Locksmith Services
When we initially called to inquire about the cost of rekeying our locks, we were informed the cost was $19 per lock plus a $29 charge for the house call. As the technician examined the locks and began replacing the hardware rather than rekeying the existing hardware, we asked about the price. We were never provided with a clear answer and throughout the technician?s repairs, we continued to ask for detailed estimates of the cost of service, we were told that ?it depends? and on several occasions we were told that we would not be charged for some of the work he has doing. After replacing the locks and handles on two doors (rather than simply rekeying them as requested), the technician finally told us the cost. At that point, we asked the technician to stop his work.
After the technician left the premises, we noticed that there was a hole in the front door; the hole was due to the technician removing the decorative handle from the front door to install a new lock; the technician did not replace the decorative handle and so the hole remains. As well, after the technician left the premises, we noticed that the locks and handles on the two doors (the front and back doors) do not match in color. Last, the handle on the inside of the front door is loose.
Beginning the same day as services rendered, we began to attempt to speak with the merchant regarding the cost and quality of the services provided: we called at 4:19pm on 11/15/13; we spoke with someone who said the supervisors were no longer in the office and that either Rachel or John would return the call on Monday 11/18. Having not yet received a return call, we called at 1:43pm on 11/18/13; we were told to call back on Tuesday 11/19 and that our name and number would be passed to Rachel and John. Having not yet received a return call, we called at 5:28pm on 11/19/13; we were told to call back on Wednesday 11/20. Having not yet received a return call, we called at 1:05pm on 11/20/13; we were told to ?call back tomorrow? and the merchant then hung up on us. We have yet to receive a call back from anyone at American Locksmith Services to discuss our concerns.
We protested the charge through our credit card company. The merchant (Eliran Shosan) replied to the credit card company that our claim lacked validity because we signed the invoice and credit card receipt. In short, they estimated the work to be about $100 and charged us $493.

Provider installed new, customer-supplied deadbolt and entry lock to front door of my residence. Only two problems: (1)Technician lacked a required tool and needed to leave job site to get the tool from a coworker. (2) After technician completed the installation and drove away I found that the entry lock did not lock properly. Company said lock must be defective and to contact manufacturer for warranty replacement. Manufacturer offered to send replacement, however I found that the lock only needed extra lubricant to lock properly. In spite of these minor problems the job overall went well and the service was satisfactory. Would use provider again.

Don is very punctual and professional. He returned my call promptly. He arrived on time, explained the work and his recommendations, and completed the job within the timeframe he stated. In addition to being professional, he is also a very kind person. We felt very safe with him having access to our home. We will definitely use him again.
