    Our heating and air conditioning system is under a service contract with another company, but had self installed a Nest thermostat last year. Earlier this week, when our spring service check was performed, it was determined that A/C was not switching into stage two cooling. Tech's determination was that the Nest unit was defective. Through Nest's web site, selected three local companies that are certified Nest pros to give us a quote for, at least, evaluating the Nest unit (unit is still under warranty). Blue Dot called the next day and was able to set up an appointment for the day after. Blue Dot has come and gone and the other two have yet to contact me. Their tech arrived well within the time slot that they promised (despite getting a call from the dispatcher that he was running late). The tech (I believe his name is Cory) was exemplary - spent quite a bit of time trying out everything he could think of in order to isolate the problem, including swapping out the Nest with a unit known to be in good working condition. Turned out that the problem is a wire that has gone bad (having worked in the tech industry, this is certainly not the first time I've seen a wire or cable go bad - happens more often than people might think). Cory spent over two hours working on this problem, keeping me up to date every step of the way. He was very professional, obviously knew the Trane units we have, and was able to understand the wiring without having to reference an installation manual (yes, this what you should expect, but is all too often not the case). This was our first experience with Blue Dot and we certainly won't hesitate to call them again should the need arise.

    I then called PHHAC. The first thing they did was to offer me the use of room A/C units until the repair could be made – AWESOME service. They were going to send someone out the same day to evaluate. Instead I decided to go with a replacement unit and PHHAC determined that it would work with my existing furnace. I pled my case about my wife’s pending birthday and PHHAC worked it out and did the install on Friday!!! Honestly, from start to finish, every phone contact, the installers, the owners could not have been more helpful and friendly. 5 Star customer service, a great local company.

    They come out annually to do maintenance. I have a contract with them, so I'm not sure what they cost. This visit did not cost anything. It went very well. They're always very pleasant. professional, clean, informative, and kind of go through everything to explain what they are doing. Their price is pretty average.

    Horizon was the only company to answer the phone when I called on Labor Day. The sent a repairman the next day and gave me an estimate of $500 to replace the feed line and update the Electric Switch box on the outside of the house. Once that was complete the service man checked the pressures on the unit and told me the pressures were out of line and that I would have to replace the Evaporator valve at a price of $2100, discounted from $2500 since he just did the other work. I was also offered to get a quote on replacing the entire system since heck "if you are going to spend that much, why not upgrade the entire system". A pure sales job....I was told that their system would be well over $10,000, gasp, but they would give me a final quote when they measured the house. I thanked him and then called Perry Hall Heating & A/C to get a second opinion, and since they had replaced the same valve 6 years prior and had originally put in the system (Trane). Perry Hall confirmed the diagnosis, even under the pretense that I was just having them do the normal maintenance and system check, I did not tell them about the previous visit from Horizon. Problem confirmed, Perry Hall quoted me $750 for the repair, and only charged me $400 at time of repair, an 80% lower price than Horizon. I am delighted with Perry Hall H&A/C, very professional and open. I was disappointed by the sales job Horizon used on me, especially on my first, and last time using them. Buyer beware with Horizon, get a second quote!!!

    Service tech Tavon came before the scheduled time. Dave came seperately a short time later. After the heat exchanger was removed,and it took a long time to remove a 26 a year old part, I saw the cracks-plural. I was taught that a combustion test is not the only test for checking a heat exchanger. By the time the combustion test reveals unacceptable, dangerous carbon monoxide levels, you're in trouble. It took almost 3 hours, on a Friday, to learn I indeed had a crack-make that cracks. Horizon Services is a top notch company. I was treated with respect. I have never heard of a company that made a promise like Horizon did. They had nothing to gain because they were not contracted with my home warranty. Dave Bogart surely knew it was cracked because of the trust, knowledge and training of my original tech, Kevin. Tavon was just as wonderful and took time to explain things in detail. Wait until I need my AC serviced. Guess who I'll call? Horizon Services- Keep doing what you do!

    I called in the morning, John and Jacob were out to troubleshoot in the early afternoon, they left to go get a part, and were back in a half hour to fix the issue. On one of the hottest days of the year, I'm fixed within one work day! I didn't get any other estimates, so I'm giving a B rating for price because I have no comparison point.

    It went well.  The technician showed up on the date and time that was previously arranged.  He was polite and very knowledgeable.   My husband requested an estimate for a new system and the technician promptly sent us the estimate.  We haven't had the new system installed yet, but we will most likely strongly consider using this company when we do decide to have the work done.

    Contacted provider on July 15th about heat pump not working. They responded right away and within an hour had someone at my home and made the repair. If that's not service I don't know what is. Don't hesitate to contact contemporary air if you need service.

    The company spent alot of time working with us and wanted to install an air conditioning unit that was smaller than 2 other companies reccomended or was currently in place. Jeff Brewer the company VP was our salesman and gave us alot of reassurances as to why we did not need a larger unit. The company was big on their "100% satisfaction guarantee" , excellent reviews on Angies List and no bad reports with the Better Business Bureau. We really put alot of trust and faith in their company. As soon as install was complete we had problems. The air conditioner could not get the temperature down below even 80 degrees if that the whole first weekend. Jeff kept promising he could fix our problem and that he would stand by his product. Trips were made to out house through August to fine tune things and adjust our ducts which he said were part of the problem even though our previous AC had worked fine. He wasn't done until about September when things were cooler and I voiced concern about not knowing if the AC could really handle the hotter summer temps. Jeff promised things would be ok now so I did not persue further action. This spring our AC had trouble cooling the house adequately (keep in mind we have an entire separate AC unit that cools our upstairs and Jeff had promised this unit his company installed could handle both areas). I emailed Jeff and got no reply. I called the company and they did come out and "fine tune" our thermostat settings and did our Spring check up which was fine. I have pictures of our thermostat tonight. It is 76 degrees outside according to their thermostat , the thermostat has been set to 74 for days, and the temperature in the house is 79 degrees.
